what a dope place. had one of the dopest croissants ive had in a while and the coffee was exceptional. try the pink bourbon if its in stock— deep fruity, creamy flavor.

Best coffee in the area. These guys are all about coffee and truly know their material about great coffee! So come get a good speciality coffee!

by far the coolest coffee place i’ve had the pleasure of experiencing. every time i go in, no matter which barista, the way im treated is awesome and the coffee is just as good. coolest people in the world and the coffee is next level. this is a place that deserves more popularity. in my opinion, they have nailed what every “hip” and “boujee” coffee place aspires to be without leaving any stone unturned. p.s. my barista today was on light up rollerskates and gave me a free sample of the best cold brew ive ever tasted. 100/10

This is my all time favorite coffee shop since they started. The owners and baristas have been consistently making the best mocha and other special coffee. They have the highest standards when it comes to coffee beans and made sure that customers are getting great service! I've been coming to modcup since they started in their first shop and I can't thank them enough for their existence in Jersey City!

I picked up beans here a few weeks ago after seeing a few of their posts on Instagram and thought it was a dope cafe. Travas explained the depth of their selection of whole beans in a passionate way (not pretentious) and just made me feel welcome. I scooped two bags of co-ferments and think they’re just delicious and fun.

My favorite all time coffee shop! They only brew coffee beans that are fresh! After 2 weeks, if unused, they throw them out. They also have many varieties of coffee, espresso, and cold brew from literally the best sources in the world!
Try their Kyoto cold brew, you will not be disappointed with the blueberry flavor!

Excellent coffee. Knowledgeable and welcoming staff. They feature a rare San Remo Opera espresso machine. Very cool.

Such a cool coffee stop in Jersey City. The book collection is amazing at the coffee shop for you to read. It could take a while to appreciate all the details in the shop. Of course the coffee is good too!

I was in town staying with a friend in the building, every morning I would walk downstairs and grab a cup of coffee and breakfast snack, I really enjoyed the flavor and attention to the detail the service representatives gave me, highly recommend!

This is is an edit to original review. My first experience there was not a pleasant one and after a couple of months I decided to give it another try. I’m really glad I did, what a gratifying surprise, great coffee, amazing staff and just incredible humans.
Ps. There is a sign now not to use the piano, hahahah no further confusion.

Fantastic coffee nook with consistently great coffee. They have special batches and provide tasting instructions on their coffee. Recommend!!

Their six ounce espresso and milk will be the best cup of coffee you’ll have this year.

Freshly roasted beans carefully measured out to the right amount, then masterfully brewed and poured for every individual experience! Not stuffy or overly intimidating in their coffee expertise, but very knowledgeable and passionate about their craft. Clever artwork.

I come here to purchase freshly roasted coffee beans for pour over. They seem to specialize in light to medium roast that is fruity. They recently started offering marcerated beans, which smell and taste amazing.

If you are in the area, definitely stop-by to try either their pour over or flat white!
