My wife and I started attending the River almost a year ago and this was the perfect church home for us. From the day we walked in we felt the love of the lord and the people that attended. You will feel right at home and everyone there cares about you and our community. I can't wait to attend on Sunday's and the small groups during the week will only help your relationship with the lord. If you get a chance come to The River and see how your life with the lord will grow and watch the sincere friendships you will make growing in the lord.

When my husband and I moved from California to Kansas City and left our church family and biological family behind, we assumed that we would have a hard time finding a new church that would really feel like home to us. The River, was the first church we attended upon arriving to Kansas City, and its the only one we needed to go to, to know that this is home for us. Wonderful, spirit led worship, excellent leadership that really exemplifies the heart of God in their lives, in their words and in their actions, excellent child care (which is a big deal for us with 4 young kids!) and a welcoming environment. Love The River family!

River Church Family has been my church home Since 2008.
It is a Center of Love for everyone.
I consider it a joy to be aligned with this Community of Believers that loves.
When looking for a place to call home one of the critical factor is alignment with vision and value.
How can you walk together accept we agree in Christ plan and word??

The River is an amazing church. Very very fun leadership. They are very balanced in being focused inward towards these own members and while focusing outward on community outreaches their harvest fest was pretty great. This church has also been approved and commended by the mayor of Raytown.

Our family has been part of The River for over 6 years now. We started attending as a newly married couple, I was a non-believer and my husband grew up in church, only to leave it in his teen/adult years. Now we have a 4 year old who loves the Lord as much as we do. We really love the atmosphere at The River and the "REAL" people we meet both inside and outside of the church.

Very relevant and responsive the community. In a world where the modern church fails to impact the community, I believe The River goes out of its way to fulfill the Great Commission by serving. The teaching is extremely practical and compassionate, without compromising Biblical values. It is a gathering place for "non-churchy" people. If your past experience with organized religion has left you feeling hurt or excluded, give The River a chance. It may just change your life.

Most churches preach that they accept everyone through their doors. This is one church that lives it!! No matter your position, history, personal struggles, etc - EVERYONE will welcome you, pray for you and worship with you as a peer.

When it comes to the interpretation of THE WORD, my wife and I believe, the ministry gets it right.

Show up for a service & see how good it feels to be truly accepted.

I have lived in the KC area for 17 yrs. Walking in the "Faith" for @ 30 years now. My wife and I have been attending the "River Church Family" for about 9 months. For me personally, I had just become 'stuck" due to various trials and 'life circumstances".. A good friend had recommended this church to me. About one month ago we made a decision that this is a place that we would like to call our "home church".
The people here at the River have always been kind (not overbearing or forceful), patient, loving, and helpful this whole time; while we personally evaluated whether we wanted to enjoin ourselves to this Fellowship. John Wiley (senior Pastor) is an excellent leader as are other Pastors on staff. John recently taught a series called "Intentional Generosity", which I think sort of "sums up the heart and soul" of what this church practices and believes... I would recommend it to anyone regardless of where you attend church. For us, it is a little farther than we "wanted" to travel, but we joyfully make the trip these days.. I personally like the emphasis on Discipleship and "making Disciples"... While it is not "unusual" for children to be discipled into the Faith, many people like myself "come to the Lord" later in life (I was aged 28), it is my belief that we many times "drop the ball" sort of speak and neglect this area... While I was discipled pretty well in my early walk with Jesus, I found myself having to sort of re-evaluate my own personal walk with God simply due to the many changes that Life had to offer me. This is where I found myself more recently. The River gently welcomed me, challenged me (through good preaching), encouraged me, and treated me with respect and dignity regardless of how or where I viewed myself. There are also "many" different aspects to what the River provides, and does in their Community. A real "on hands" church where the people are real, unassuming, humble, and who have a strong sense of "mission" and "outreach" to those in their midst but also outside the church. I am pleased to be associated with the River.

Best church, ever! The church as a whole, and it's members individually, show the love of Jesus to everyone they come in contact in their community. They stand on what the Bible says and live that out in their everyday lives. They truly are a great family to be a part of!

I visit with my daughter occasionally. Always enjoy the praise music, church members, and especially the co-pastors, Tim and Tisha. They are a great team.
