Went it was peak fall color time. Beautiful foliage and views from the overlook. However, trail markings need to be better. It got somewhat dark on the way down to the parking lot and the path was too narrow to know for sure if it was the trail indeed.

Really nice park and trail. The elevation isnt bad and parts of the trail are gravel. It winds thru some really pretty areas. The lake is completely empty. First time there, looking forward to returning in the spring. Lots of moss and mushrooms!

Great trail. The loop is about 3 miles long. Add half a mile if you want to walk around the lake, too. The trail is well maintained. Safe, but strenuous. There are a few sections that wind through fields and they are beautiful!

Great, medium intensive, 3 mile plus primary trail. Variety of fields, streams, ponds, and forests. Lots of inclines and winding trails. Fun and challenging for amateurs and the experienced, alike. Make the trip to this nicely put together park.

Great area for hiking. Nice 3mile round trip. Dogs are allowed on leash. Saw some people but not crowded.

Amazing conservation with plenty to do from hunting, hiking, and fishing and much more. There are tons of trails with beautiful landscapes, also there are a good few ponds scattered through out the area that are stocked with good fish and there is also access to the meramec river.

The trail has some high grass in places. Ticks are present. Once you reach the end of the overlook, do NOT follow the orange taped trees.

We ended up on a little "adventure" off trail in deep brush for 30 minutes before finding our way onto the trail again.

Overall a pretty hike!!

Awesome hiking and hunting area with a fishing pond. Lots of unleashed dog walkers tho so be careful hunting. There not very nice when you ask them where the leash is!! But in all very good views of river and forest. Parking lot holds around 15-20 cars never seen it even close to full.

This is a great, pretty easy hike. Theres a spectacular view of the Meramac with an overlook. A good portion of the trail is paved; it used to be a road of sorts. The pond often has fishermen surrounding it, so tread lightly. There is a patch of the trail that goes through tall, native grasses. Watch out for ticks and chiggers in the warmer months.

This mostly shaded trail traverses multiple creeks on you way to the top where there is an overlook to view the Meramac River. There are portions of the trail that are paved, gravel and dirt with a wide diversity of wild flowers, vegetation, and species of trees. It allows you to emerge yourself in nature not far from St. Louis without all the crowds.

Great spot for a quick hike. Nice rise in elevation from Creek to lookout. Lots of wildflowers blooming in August. Very beautiful area overall.

Nice Hike! Beautiful view at end of trail. The trail goes up hill all the way. Nice little lake with fish. No services, but is close to town (not to close). Vary small parking lot.
