Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Portland South/Lake Oswego

As nobody talks about the breakfast experience, I’ll do that for all of you reading my review. 😉 I was curious because Google marked a “great breakfast” icon for this one, and it was indeed!

Of course, one shouldn’t expect 5-star hotel buffet but their breakfast was better than any other chains (like Best Western) in the same level. They have hot meals like cheese omelets, eggwhite frittata, and Turkey sausages which were pretty fine. Of course, there’s a waffle machine with two choices of syrup (sugar and no-sugar). What I really loved was hot cooked oatmeal 🥣 with nuts and seeds and dried fruits! Also pre-made yogurts, boiled eggs, and cereal cups.

Plenty of fruit options like banana, apple, and orange. Two types of bagels and every condiments you can imagine. For coffee, there’s oatmilk as well as half-and-half :) Just check out my pics.

Overall, I felt they did care about the wide range of choices for customers. Very much satisfied with it.

Room was cozy and quiet, and I liked that the hanger was right in front of the bathroom because it was super easy to gather up things after the shower:) Everything was prepared right within reach. Even free coffee near entrance was just perfect.

Definitely wanna come back for another winery tour near Dundee and Willamette valley!

Good hotel to be stranded at during a winter ice storm. Clean rooms. Breakfast. Always a pot of coffee and tea. Good location near major roads and food options with still quiet rooms.

Great place to stay for easy access to Lake Oswego area. Quiet. Clean. Great hot breakfast. Indoor pool. Hotel store had the usual snacks and drinks. Friendly staff. Marriott App keyless entry worked flawlessly on both rooms all week.

There are two detractors I’d mention, if they matter to you. First, the coffee was not good. I’m not one to complain about coffee, and never have at a hotel, but this wasn’t good coffee. I wonder if it’s even Marriott corporate approved? Second, the “room refresh” is every other day and does not make up the beds. All it does is deliver towels. We asked for it daily, but they kept coming every other day anyway. But, those are little things. Overall I’d stay there again any day.

We stayed in 4 hotels on this trip, and this one was my favorite. It was the quietest. We were on the 3rd floor. It was also in a nice setting with trees around, but conveniently located. Staff was really nice, Alex was great when we arrived. I'd stay there again. We were there for three nights

Also had a really neat tree printed window shade to allow for light and privacy.

Loved our stay here. Definitely worth your money. I really appreciate places that has free parking and offers complementary breakfast. Our room was clean and comfy. No complaints at all. The pool was apparently not usable because some kids broke a light or something, but that was no big deal.

For this class of hotel, it's great. Definitely not a luxury hotel but great for business travel. Location is excellent for all the offices around. Lots of food within easy waking distance too.
Employees are nice and friendly.
Rooms are very clean. Bathrooms were redone recently. Instant hot water which is great. Relatively quiet rooms.
Really good breakfast in the morning as well. Plenty of good stuff to start your day. Breakfast room is super clean and well stocked.
I stay here 5-6 times each year and am very happy with it each time.

This hotel provided us a great stay. The hotel was super clean and the service was great! The gal running the breakfast area was very helpful and accommodating. I would definitely stay here again.

What a nice place, close to restaurants and a Great location. Staff are friendly and the price point is good too. A good place to use your points! We had a wine tasting in downtown Lake Oswego and got this room now twice to have a Great experience both times!

Nice stay, friendly staff. Clean hotel with nice room. Off the freeway in a quiet location but close to everything. Gym and pool were closed but 2 min walk to snap fitness that was complimentary. Breakfast was nice. Package items, no toaster for the bagels but a nice assortment of items to choose from. Kinda of picky when it comes to stays and looked at a lot places and reviews. The Fairfield definitely exceeded my expectations!

Great hotel at a convenient location and very affordable rates for the area. The staff was friendly and rooms were clean. A touch noisy from the street and the breakfast was pretty bare bones (but NOLA doughnuts is nearby so why miss an opportunity to go there?), but I left feeling rested and satisfied, which is really what you want in a hotel anyways. For price and convenience, you'll find yourself hard-pressed to find better!

This hotel is perfect for either a business trip or small family gateaway. The rooms are very clean, well appointed, beds are very comfortable, and the air conditioner worked very quietly. The pool and hot tub were great and the breakfast was very good (ample variety). The location was superb, close to shops and restaurants, and easy access to the I-5 highway just a few minutes from downtown Portland. We will definitely come back.

The staff at this Marriott are tops. They go out of their way to be friendly and helpful. This property is being refreshed and will soon be even better.

This place is great. Wife and I just spent a full week here moving our daughter to Lake Oswego. We’ve been coming up here for years, but somehow kept missing staying here. Have stayed in all the surrounding hotels many times. Go figure. Had our first stay a couple weeks ago and were pleased with the service, cleanliness and quiet location. I’ll be heading back next weekend with my son for a couple more days.

Staff was very friendly. I arrived late on Monday and despite a line they moved me through quickly. I stayed near the lobby on the first floor and was worried about noise but it was very quiet. Clean facility, and staying down the hall from the pool and workout room made it easy to get in a run before my business meeting. When I woke up, an invoice was under my door and I was good to go. Thanks for a great stay!

This is great place to stay. Have stayed there 3 times for a total of 4 weeks. The beds are comfortable, rooms well cleaned and maintained. The breakfast is great. The staff are friendly and helpful. Lots of choices to eat within walking distance.
