China Garden

This was been our go to Chinese place since I was a child. Now almost 20 years later this is still our go to place. I have now gotten my husband hooked. This is probably considered an American Chinese restaurant but man it is good. I have not found a place in any of my travels with sweet and sour chicken, consume soil, egg rolls or general tso chicken I love better. I always come here for the soup to pick up and bring home if I am sick. I have seen much of the staff here for years.
I hope this place never closes and one day I can introduce my future children to this place!!

Wow the soup is so light fresh tasty! The vegetables are perfect. Still fresh ..chicken beef pork and BBQ pork . Cabbage broccoli carrots snow pea broth is not thick . So refreshing and light . The waitress is very kind as she was cleaning the restaurant as well as taking our order . Amazing almond fried chicken 🐔

The best Chinese in Grand Forks, hands down. Their lunch specials are such an incredible deal. Pretty much everything on the menu is a sure bet. And the one item you have to order every single time: the cream cheese wontons. Heaven on a plate for sure!!

Love the lo mein, fried rice, sweet and sour shrimp, egg rolls and general tao chicken. Just to name a few favorites!

The soup was delicious. I ordered way too much food and it was all awesome and priced very well.

My favorite place to get Chinese food! Huge portions that also come with sides of soup and rice. Never have I been let down with this place!

Great luncheon menu and cheap. Food and service is good. Evening dinner menu is large variety with fair prices and large quantities. Kinda of a land mark place in Grand Forks. Always consistent with food and service. China Garden has always been an affordable restaurant. The food is good with a very large menu to choose from. Quality of food and service is very good. Have fun and enjoy your meal. We have been eating at China Garden for for decades. Thought I better mention there is Gluten free items to choose from for a good selection.

Great spot to order food to go they are timely and good food.

Service was quick and the food was delicious! The atmosphere was also nice and the lunch menu was very reasonably priced.

In a town without much authentic Chinese cuisine, The China Garden has a lot to recommend. I've recently spent more time there than ever due to my job change and so my lunch breaks lead me here. Quick and tasty. That's how I'd describe it. I usually order the 84 special and it never disappoints, however I have deviated lately and tried the soup. I can't say I've ever tried their soup...I'm mad I didn't before. It felt amazing on my hoarse throat and tasted deeeelicious. I like that the folks at China Garden make the effort to make you feel right at home. A family favorite of ours. Always will be.

We were a party of 20+ and the waitress did a fantastic job remembering everything we needed. Kudos to the chef/kitchen as the food was excellent along with the temperature for a group this big! Wontons are the best in town!!

Stopped here as I wanted Chinese food, spicy! The staff was very friendly and greeted us quickly.
I ordered the cream cheese wontons and they are definitely homemade and tasted wonderful. I had vegetable chow mein veggies were colorful and crisp, fresh! I had not anticipated such a wonderful meal and was delightfully surprised! I would recommend it and would visit again!

Their Wonton Soup is the best thing whenever you are sick...or hungover.

Update: Still great, reasonably priced food. Great service.

Old: Great Food. Reasonable prices. Always Hot and Fresh. Way better than eating at that disgusting Red Pepper.

So..... Give a 2 star review because there was an error in your order??? The food doesn’t taste good Reheated?? They have leaky bags?? Seriously???

So I did wish that they had included a fork in my bag, but the fact that I'm still giving them a 5 should tell you that this place is amazing!

First, they gave me a complimentary soup! It tasted excellent.

Second, it felt like stealing because their prices are so cheap! $9 for beef lo mein? That's crazy!

Third, the beef lo mein tasted excellent. It was full of flavor and included great veggies that were enjoyable and not overcooked.

The seating, atmosphere, and service was fantastic!
The food was cooked wonderfully and given to us in a timely manner. The portions we're big (to our plesant surprise) and filling. Will go back soon and recommend it for families with children. 🤩

I was craving Chinese, stopped in and ordered take out. It took no time at all for my order to be prepared, and the food was fabulous as it always has been! Their lunch plate specials are great too! Great value for the money, also!

I eat here quite often, and the food is always excellent, with generous portion sizes. The service is just the right amount of present. They don't hover and become pesty, checking on you every 5 minutes, but they're not absent either. They are always very polite, and professional. I highly recommend the China Garden over any of the buffet style restaurants in Grand Forks.

China Garden is the staple Chinese restaurant in Grand Forks. Many have come and gone, proof of how well customers love their food. I have never had anything but fabulous service and food. I would highly recommend China Garden if you are in the mood for Southeast East Asian food.
