Colonial Cafe

The cutest local spot coffee shop. It's a hidden gem located on a small street of the Shops at Mill Race. In an old historic building with a front porch and multiple cozy rooms for seating. The coffee options are top notch and Mitch the owner is so great answering questions, giving suggestions, and customizing. Food options include bites and pastries. There's books and games so it's a wonderful hangout spot as well.

Very cute!! Love the little gifts and service we were given. The back rooms are very private and cozy. Definitely recommend!

Uhg, I took my husband for hand surgery at Virtue. Luckly for me, I found this comfy place away from the hospital. I sat listening to some Jack Johnson and like music while watching the snowy ❄ weather outside. My bagel 🥯 was great and so was my latte ☕. So awesome, it really helped this miserable day feel more pleasant. Not gonna lie though, still can't wait for spring. 🌞

This is the greatest local coffee shop I have ever enjoyed! Coffee and other drinks and food choices can't be beat. Nice selection, fair prices, friendly staff, wonderful atmosphere. The community needs to be supportive of this place that brings new life into the Village area, and has restored this 250+ year old institution.

Such a cute place with super kind staff. Got a drip coffee and a bacon egg and cheese on a sunflower bagel that was delicious. There is some seating inside and outside where you can enjoy your meal. Can't wait to come back!!

The new owners are doing a great job and always friendly, the place is looking great and they had beautiful tables and umbrellas outside that many of us loved during the summer and with the beautiful flowers that the previous owner planted i always refer to it as the courtyard . Really it is beautiful and relaxing and they plan on adding additional special seating next spring .
Can't mt holly have anything nice ? Why try and drive them out with negative reviews,no idea why there would be anything but nice things to say.
People walking to Robins Nest now get to see the love and care these guys put into it . It fits in nicely with Mill Race . I love how they are gradually doing away with the colonial theme and making it fun and cozier. I wish Mitch and Chris much success with their coffee shop. ....

Support small businesses don't bash .

Cute place for light fare and a hand crafted beverage. I had the iced matcha with blueberry flavor which wasn't overly sweet. I also had the hummus toast which was on delicious bread and not overly toasted. You can sit inside or outside. Warming decor makes you feel at home.

Literally the absolute best coffee shop in the world. 11/10, highly recommend. Would be nice to see the owners on TikTok though. They're funny.

My wife and I were walking around the town and stumbled upon this cool little coffeehouse . There’s two little rooms to sit inside, as well as what looked like outdoor space on the back lawn. My wife and I enjoyed playing mancala while drinking some delicious coffee in the room with the games.

I always like visiting local coffee shops when I travel and work had me in Mt Holly for a few days. Colonial Café has the rare distinction of getting me to visit multiple times in the same trip!

Tried this place out this weekend because I'm moving to the area. It was great, coffee was delicious, service was kind, seating is unique.

1st time there! Coffee was great and got hashbrowns which were seasoned deliciously 😊 service and conversation with the locals and girl working there was awesome too. I will be back!

Very cute, homely; welcoming cafe. First time visiting to try a local spot as opposed to my daily corporate coffee run. I walked around to see the vibes and it seemed like a nice place to study, read or just be peaceful. To a coffee lover, the espresso was phenomenal as well as the choice of syrups to compliment their custom latte selection. I will be back another day to enjoy time in the cafe and try some food. (:

Good coffee, people, atmosphere and breakfast food. If you’re from out of town be sure to stop by and grab a bite and coffee. If you’re local support your local business. Starbucks? What’s that.

Checked out this cafe since I got pretty tired of big coffee chains. The cafe is a pretty neat little spot. Very old school in exterior/interior. Friendly staffs.

Loveee this coffee shop! Its so cute all seasons, it’s a little hidden in historic Mt Holly but still easy to find. The coffee is always on point and everyone who works there is just so nice & sweet!
