At the end of October we had an adventure at our “favorite gourmet dive bar” when we went to The Village Pub Tabernacle NJ for tomahawk steak night! When you take your first look, you may hesitate to go inside, but we’ve been going to this south jersey treasure for years. When I saw they were having tomahawk steak night, I made a reservation right away. I’m glad I did because they sold out weeks before the 2 night event. A 42 ounce steak with crab meat and vodka sauce and sides for $100! Their combination of amazing food and incredible prices can’t be beat. We always start off the bacon wrapped scallops. Chef Andre has weekend specials so the food is always different and delicious! We loved the shrimp, clams, mussels and crabmeat served over pasta in marinara sauce, the cast iron lamb chops, and the pan seared ahi tuna and shrimp with teriyaki marinade! Some of our friends that live in Tabernacle order food here several times a week. We live 15 minutes away so after a day in LBI or an afternoon of bar hopping, we usually stop here for dinner. The food is great, the prices are great, but the highlight of our adventure is always the great people! From the staff to the patrons, everyone is so friendly and we really enjoy the atmosphere of simple country living. The food is amazing!! They are totally accurate in the description of a gourmet dive bar. I've ordered meatballs for parties a few times & most recently went for their Tomahawk steak night. They never disappoint!

Don’t judge a book by its cover! The outside is nothing to look at but our servers Kaitlyn and Linda were amazing! You won’t be disappointed! My party I was with loved our meal, especially me. I received the best meal of my life at the village pub! Can’t wait to go back! If google would let me put more stars I would give it to them!!!!! The price was very reasonable!

Tabernacles best kept secret! I would love to keep this place a secret but its so dang good, i have to share! From the burgers to the Chefs Specials of Seafood, Ribeye's, etc. you always get an amazing meal with a nice presentation. Friendly staff, and comfortable atmosphere, I Love this place!

Looks like a little dive bar from the outside, but the food was equal to a fancy restaurant, from the Apps and pasta dishes, to full on steak and seafood. One of the best meals and reasonably priced, I have had in a long time. Definitely will be returning and Highly recommend . Ps make a reservation they were that busy…

The outside isn't much too look at but the food was delicious and the staff are super nice and friendly. The buffalo shrimp was outstanding as was everything we ordered. Definitely would return.

Atmosphere was great for a local bar, the food was great, I will be going there again.

Excellent little place that if you weren’t really looking for it would probably drive right by and not even know what your missing.
The food is always amazing and always large proteins for the price so it’s well worth it. Philly cheesesteak egg rolls what a crazy but delicious idea they were so good. The atmosphere is always great can’t wait to go back again

This is one of the best hole in the wall places you can find in Tabernacle. Nixon's with the best cheesesteaks is RIGHT across the street but shockingly this bar has an absolutely fantastic menu! The cream of crab soup they have is just utterly delicious and they have Guinness. Win win all around. Friendly staff awesome place to go hide and have a great meal with a friend.

Awesome food! Got the NY strip for dinner cooked perfect (medium rare) good cut of meat. Someone else at my table god an Italian dish with crab and scallops in a blush, DELICIOUS. might try that next time.

I have been a guest at Michelin rated restaurants. This establishment would get 2 stars in their category. The food was perfect, the bartender was excellent and the atmosphere was superb. Get off the well traveled road and experience this establishment.

This pub is a hidden gem tucked away on the edge of the greatest aquifer east of the Mississippi river.... the " Jersy pine barrens ", it is one of my favorite local haunts in the area , in . Which I call my home, the food is gourmet level, the service always comes with a smile, the beer is always cold, and prices are really fair in regards to the quality and variety on the menu. its not just another bar... it's a place with good vibes and character, the usual is " outside WOW, and inside OW" ! THIS PLACE IS OUTSIDE OW AND INSIDE ...WOW! Enough said ,many diners and upscale restaurants cant hold a candle to this place. And it's only a short drive from my home.

Great food. Great prices. Relaxed atmosphere. A true jem of South jersey.

Had reservations for a Saturday night. Waitress ignored us for first 15 minutes then after we flagged her down she finally came over. Drinks were good. Had buffalo scallops appetizer. Was delicious. Chicken marsala was good but standard. The gnocchi with the marsala were a good texture. Other people had a burger, chicken Parm and shrimp Parm. Food is tasty with huge servings. The place looks like a hole in the wall from outside and it is. But the food makes up for that in portion size alone. Would recommend, would go again. Bring your appetite.

Nice place which doesn't look like much on the outside, but had great, "pubby" atmosphere inside, friendly service and really good food. I had the cheesesteak hoagie.

A little gem!!! This place from outside looks like a toilet. But boy looks are deceiving! Don’t let that stop you from going in!!!! Inside is quite cozy! More important the food is beyond heavenly!!! The drinks were excellent!The food was really really great!!! Our waitress was really fantastic!!!! Prices for now a days are much better then reasonable! This place is better then a hidden gem!!!! This place is a true diamond!!! I went last night and want to go back tonight!!! Great Great place!!!! It’s funny when I was a kid you know you’re parents would have the same place they would take you to dinner every week.Because the prices were good and the food was there favorite and the servers treated you nice! That’s this place!!!!

Friends kept telling us about the food ( ignore the exterior). So 8 of us enjoyed our meals, selecting different entrees and no one was disappointed. Crab soup was delicious and the menu has more than enough selections to please any crowd. A friendly staff and the owner even stopped by to say hello.
