Henry's Hardware (formerly 1540 Hardware)

Great little local hardware store for handy work around the house or very small projects. Good prices but not where you want to go if it’s a big job or if you aren’t quite sure what you need.

I love shopping at this place. The employees and owner are friendly and very knowledgeable about home improvement needs and supplies . This shop has almost everything you need from screws, paints, plumbing supplies, keys and more. It's just like little "Home Depot or Lowe's."

Henry’s Hardware, formerly 1540 Hardware, ( even though all the signs still say 1540) is a wonderfully stocked store. I was impressed with the selection of their tools, light bulbs, paints as well as everything you’d expect to find in your neighborhood hardware store.

Great local hardware store, with a good selection of paint colors to choose from. I stopped by just for paint, and the employee who helped me was very nice. I appreciated not being overly talked to, and he was quick with getting my paint all mixed together. It's nice to have a store in the neighborhood that's easy to walk to.

I have a leaking shower and needed some caulk. I wanted to support local business and remembered this shop. I called to make sure they carried caulk and caulk guns. The owner answered, checked that he had the items I was looking for. When I got there he was helful in selecting the right caulk and remembered that I had called. He placed the last caulk gun behind the counter for me so it would be available when I came in. Such personal service. Much appreciated!!

One of my favorite neighborhood hardware stores. They always beat the big box store prices and have exactly what I need. Henry and his family of shop keeps are friendly and helpful so don’t hesitate to ask them for help or advice.

This store goes above and beyond, very grateful to have a hardware store like this in the neighborhood.

Great hardware store, nice helpful people... been shopping here since they opened at their previous location years ago. They always seem to have what I need and it saves so much time vs traveling to Home Depot/Lowes. Plus, I'd rather support a local business.

I've been shopping at henry's since he opened his original store on passyunk and will continue to do so. I'll never forget when he helped me install a new faucet in my home, out of the kindness of his heart several years ago. He and his family are good people and he has what I need.

Much time on my hands so started to teach my kids what “shop class” was like waaaaay back in the 80’s. Only difference was I could not build the useful final projects of extra curricular after school activities you would finish. (Smoking accessories/ paraphernalia!). They have it all! Even the old radioshack cabinet with transistors and what not

Great store and owner. They have most of what you need for day-to-day activities. Very good at helping you figure out what you need for a problem. The keys they make work, and not many places can say that.

Excellent. Always super helpful here. This is a small neighbourhood store, don't walk in expecting the stock you'd find in a big box stores..but it is perfect for your neighborhood needs.

When you can't get to the big hardware stores, this is the place to go. Henry is so helpful and his small store carries everything from home improvement items, to cleaning supplies to even making keys.

Great small town hardware store feel with a very personable and helpful shopkeeper. 10/10 hit the nail on the head at this place. He saved me when i was in quite a pickle!

Went to get a key copied for my house. I was in and out of the place in about 15 seconds. Fastest transaction I’ve ever had.

This place is a real christmas miracle! they had exactly what i needed even though the part I was looking for is older then I am! Got me going with what i needed for about 10 bucks!
