City Center Masjid | Friday Prayer Musalla

The Center City Mosque in Philadelphia is a significant project aimed at establishing a permanent place of worship for Muslims in the downtown area. The initiative began in the early 1990s when Muslims working and living in Center City recognized the need for a mosque to hold the weekly Friday prayer. As the community grew, the need for a dedicated space became more pressing, leading to the development of the Center City Mosque project. Located at 1328 Walnut St, the mosque serves as a communal place for the five daily prayers, seven days a week, and is especially important for Friday prayers, a time for Muslims to congregate and connect. The mosque’s vision extends beyond prayer services; it aims to be a safe, sustainable, and welcoming environment for both Muslims and non-Muslims to learn about Islam and foster interfaith understanding.

Alhamdulilah. After going from the basement to a private location. There is now a dedicated space for all the daily prayers for everybody. Now Center City Philadelphia can be able to do prayer and worship for many years to come. 🙏🏽

I love how welcoming the environment is and the community involving the mosque. Absolutely beautiful and in a very convenient location.

Very Peaceful, there is also a sisters section.

May Allah accept this community and their efforts. Started off small, now they have a separate space to worship.

A freindly place to pray and meet new people. They welcome you with open arms in here and its kept immaculate with places to refelect and worship. Theres always someone to teach you if you are new along with big open space to worship and talk about your day. A good place to check out when your in center city

Had a hard time to find the entrance. Its actually the back door next to the huge red water Tap rotate thing(see pic)

Peaceful & convenient for prayer

This Musallah is for Friday prayers only. located at Clover street behind Lowe’s Hotel & Macy’s in City Center Philadelphia. May Allah grant success to Muslim community of City Center Masjid in their new project to build City Center Masjid.

They give weekly reminders to attend Friday/Jummah Prayer. Be sure to text "MUSLIM" to 797979. Be sure to come early and try to have your WUDU at work before you come.
