Lamp Post Diner

My daughter and I visited for the first time in November ‘23 and were pleasantly surprised!
The restaurant is pretty big and was packed! We had a bit of a wait, but it was well-worth it! We sat at a comfortable booth which provided a bit of privacy. The Lamp Post has an extensive menu and freshly baked goods.
Our waiter was very attentive, patient with us and knowledgeable about the menu.
We will definitely visit again when in the area! I hope they accept call-ahead seating 😉

More than just a diner. The food selections are abundant and always good. I've never had bad service here. Last visit we were served by Jenny who made us very comfortable and had us laughing as well. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're in the area. I wish they had a liquor license so I could stay longer

Been here a million times and have always had a great experience. the food is always perfect and the service tends to be very well. most of the servers here know me and i love them. the only bad thing is that last time i came here there was way too much chocolate sauce on my chunky monkey crepes and it took away some of the goodness. other than that me and all my friends love it here and do recommended to come often!

Excellent service and very accommodating staff! We surprised two of our dearest colleagues and they were very helpful. The servings are huge and delectable. Our server, Courtney, she’s awesome and the rest of the crew. Would highly recommend this place.

First time and man was I impressed! First off our server Michele was AMAZING 🤩! Second the cappuccino is literally the best one I’ve ever had….it was love in a glass cup! I got the sausage with spinach panini was outstanding with great fries. The seafood bisque was nice and creamy and thick, well seasoned. My son said his omelette could have been bigger with more cheese. The shake he had was very good. If you are in South NJ I highly recommend this diner.

I love American diners! They have a special atmosphere of holiday like you gather all family to eat out your favorite meal! I have never been disappointed of this particular diner because they give you a huge amount of everything and you can even have your own options. I am in love with fluffy pancakes of different topping varieties and desserts which I try to pick different every time we go there with hubby. My favorites are cheesecake and 3 chocolate layers muss cake! My husband loves chicken tenters with rice with lemon sauce. The only thing which would bother you but at the same time it's a plus that you have to wait a long line on Sundays!

We host our wedding dinner at LampPost. Everything and everyone enjoy themselves. The food was greater than five star. From the moment we walk into the banquet space seen the decor, the servers and working alongside Chris, we were amazed. We are thankful for such wonderful service.

It was beautiful and clean inside and out. It was packed around 930am and still busy. Waitress was always checking in and constantly there for us. The food came out warm, delicious, and beautifully put together. The bakery items looked gorgeous! Definitely reccomend and will go back!

The breakfast was a hit for the whole family! The consensus was that we didn't like the plain pancakes as much as IHOP or Cracker Barrel, but the tremendous options and the the quality and preparation of the sides make for a great meal. We also have had multiple positive experiences with servers, but it does get busy, so be prepared if you're in more of a rush.

Great food good prices! Just had Thanksgiving dinner and it was delicious! We are empty nesters so cooking a huge dinner is no longer required!!!

Ordered off the special Thanksgiving menu. I had the fried seafood combo, salad, fries with gravy, green beans and coconut cream pie. It was only 23.99. Huge portions! I had to get a to go box!!! It was fried to perfection! Everything was seasoned perfectly.

My husband had the soup, traditional turkey dinner, corn and pumpkin pie all for 19.99.

The service was quick! The server was so friendly and efficient.

I was there visiting family on the East Coast and wanted something from my youth to eat, chipped beef. There was a bakery item “elephant ears”. Victor graciously gave me one to sample and the advice to dunk it in my coffee. Love that kind of service. Next time I’m in town I will definitely stop in again. Thank you ❤

I dine in here when I go. Lovely place, good atmosphere, kind people, great food and nice portions. Worth the trip! You will not be disappointed!

We came her for a group lunch hangout after an Earth Day Cleanup hike. It’s recommended by a team member who said that this was her favorite restaurant.

It’s indeed quite a nice and spacious restaurant. Service was good, food was delicious. My chicken parmigiana was very good as the chicken was crispy outside but very tender and juicy inside. The food portions are all huge, everyone only finished half portion.

Didn’t order dessert but they looked so yummy. 😋

You may need to make a reservation to avoid waiting on line. But you won’t be seated until your group people have all arrived.

Parking is not a problem at all.

Would go back again if there’s a chance. Will also recommend it to friends.

Went tonight with a friend. I had chicken franchaise was delicious my friend had broiled scallops which were very good. Our waitress was fantastic. Service was outstanding. We will return .

My 2nd time here and they did not disappoint. This has to be the best waffle I've ever had. If you're looking for good food and great service this is your spot!

Don’t know where to start with this place! It was a great experience overall! Michelle was a wonderful server and very attentive and really went above and beyond. The wait was about 10 mins for 2 of us. The food was cooked perfectly and tasted great! It was clean, and has a lot of room inside. Paying at the cashier was pretty simple but the line was a tad long. I will be back for sure. The pork roll was cooked to perfection, and really made my trip to New Jersey worth it!

Managers are always so nice and accommodating. The pastries are to die for good! My favorite is the burger with cheese and mushrooms! Cooked perfectly every single time! My family loves the burgers! Keep it up

came in on a weekday for lunch, place was packed!
There are like 30 lunch specials. I went with the pastrami/corned beef sandwich. my friendly server was a veteran of the game, she knew the menu inside and out and advised I could add soup/salad/desert to the meal for like 4 bucks, how could i refuse?
I recommend the seafood gumbo.
they pile it high here at lamp post and i did not have room for desert... but i mean look at that strawberry short cake, its perfect.
only complaint if i had one would be that there was only one server for the rather large dining room during a crowded lunch shift! and she was Crushing it... but it did take super long, like 100+ minutes all told. thats on mgmt though. overall, great diner.

Delicious food, great service and good prices. Can get crowded at breakfast times and weekends but they do not rush people out and are very kind and patient with all customers. Delicious bakery goods.

A 15-minute wait for 2 was well worth it. Our waitress was amazing her personality lit up the entire room. We felt like her only customers. The food was right on point, hot, tasty, and full of flavor. Stop in for any meal and leave room for desserts to eat in or take home.
