Andrea Trattoria Italiana

This is a traditional, European style restaurant. Chef owned, the food is amazing! Great for a special night out. Quaint Italian restaurant whose chef (owner) packs a big punch. He is from the Naples area of Italy. My dining companion and I chose the soup du jour, a meaty but smooth Butternut squash. We moved on to the primo, choosing calamari plus homemade rigatoni appetizers which were very good.
We chose a fish il secondo - a Branzino large enough for two, filleted tableside by the chef. It was amazing! Perfectly prepared and just the right amount.
Highly recommend.

This is one of Cape May’s little hidden gems. There’s not a dish here that I’ve tried and didn’t like. The staff is very attentive and had some awesome recommendations. I enjoyed the unique Caesar salad that comes in a cheese bowl! The fettuccine bolognese is truly the best I’ve ever tried in my life. Of course no meal would be complete without dessert. We settled on sharing the crème brûlée and tiramisu, and it was really the cherry on top to our dinner. This place really does feel like a taste of Italy hidden away in Cape May.

We were a walk-in. Hostess was super friendly and welcoming. Our server, Edgar, was excellent. He offered us the specials right away and was very attentive. amazing service! you don’t get that just anywhere anymore. I commend him and the rest of the staff. Food was delicious. Ambiance was beautifully decorated. This restaurant was a Breath of fresh air.

We had a fantastic lunch here. Tiramisu was maybe the best I’ve ever had. Will need to come in the summer to experience the outdoor seating which looked very cute. My husband had the linguine with clams and I had a man eggplant rigatoni dish.

We hosted our son and daughter in law's rehearsal party at this restaurant. We can't say enough about the beautiful atmosphere that was created on the 2nd floor of the restaurant. The food was excellent and the service was far beyond our expectations. Ariana worked with us from coordinating to making certain that everyone had a great experience. We want to thank Andrea, Ariana and the rest of the staff for a perfect evening.

Great service, every dish my party of six had was tasty and well prepared! The special fish of the night was exceptionally good.. Homemade deserts were off the charts good… We sat upstairs on a Monday and our servers had to come from downstairs as we were the only party upstairs, they never forgot us! I highly recommend this hidden gem in Cape May!

Another Great Experience!
This is the second time dinning at Andrea Trattoria Italiana and it did not disappoint. We dined the last day of Cape May Restaurant Week. A price fixed 3 course menu at $55 per person. I started with POLENTA CON RAGÚ BIANCO consisting of Grilled polenta served with ground white beef ragú, celery, onions, carrots and parmigiano reggiano. My wife had the soup of the day which was a delicious bend of Onions, Gorgonzola cheese and other seasonal vegetables.

For the second course My Wife had SALMONE ALLA MOSTARDA
- Mustard and fresh herb encrusted salmon with white wine cream sauce, for myself the VITELLO VALDOSTANO
Sauteéd veal with wild mushrooms, topped with melted fontina cheese. Both dishes were outstanding.

For desert we had pumpkin cheesecake and a wonderfully refreshing lemoncello souffle.

If you have the opportunity to visit Cape May Make sure you do not miss this dining experience!

The staff is super friendly and the food is incredible. I've visited a few times and every time the food gets better every time.

My favorite dish is the Cesare salad. The parmesan cheese bowl that it is served in is absolutely phenomenal!

The is a small Italian restaurant that is seasonal, so go as soon as you can before it closes. It is at the location of La Dona Mexican restaurant on Carpenter Street. Most maps show it as Perry St but we entered through the La Dona entrance. Don't be fooled as we were thinking you will need to dine outside or in the very small indoor space La Dona has. They have taken over the SOMA Art Gallery space in the little mall and it is beautifully decorated for the holidays. This is more upscale Italian dining than most of the Italian establishments in Cape May. The food was excellent as was the service. This is a bring your own bottle establishment so bring your favorite libation to enjoy the experience further.

FABULOUS FOOD
We had the special, which was seven fishes... and it was fresh and delicious. A hidden Byob gem in Cape May. We enjoyed the freshly made dinner and relaxed atmosphere. Our server Ariana was perfection. So happy to find this place..

This is the best restaurant ever and the best chef ever. I highly recommend anyone that is in the area to dine here. If you're not in the area, it's worth the trip.

Wow this is the best Italian I’ve had in a long time! It was clear from the specials that Andrea was cooking authentic food! All pasta was homemade and fresh! Even the gnocchi was light as a feather which is rare to find! They treated my family so kindly even with our two young boys. Thank you!
