Hemingway's Steaks & Seafood Restaurant

Hemingway’s was amazing! The servers were outstanding and food was excellent.
My only complaint was the male host who greeted customers.Did not even say hello very rude.
This position is so incredibly important to have positive and pleasant employees welcoming customers to your restaurant.
Everything else was amazing and made up for my horrible first impression.
This was our 25th Wedding Anniversary .

The Oysters were unbelievable. Rich with a hint of mild spiciness. Creamy and decadent, I can imagine getting these frequently when we come here. The Crab cake used lump Crab, so you're getting nice textured Crab meat. It also wasn't very heavy. The Calamari used a decent breading, kind of like a tempura. The service was also excellent.

The ambiance was warm and inviting. The service was top-notch, with attentive staff, the menu offered a fantastic selection of steaks and seafood dishes. But the highlight of my evening: the dessert. The crème brûlée was simply divine! The perfect balance of creamy custard and caramelized sugar on top created a delightful contrast of textures.

Had my small wedding dinner here and my family and I were impressed. All the food was delicious. From the clams, to the scallops, to the salmon, the chicken piccata, and steak. Delicious. The staff went above and beyond to make our wedding reception feel special. They even allowed us to have a cake table with our own decorations. Dawn, Scot, and my amazing waitress who I neglected to get her name were outstanding! I also had banana stuffed French toast for breakfast the next morning. Yummy!

Everything was great. We had the early bird special which consisted of a three course meal; a soup or salad, main dish, and a dessert all for $32 a person. The server was sweet, attentive, and probably bored because it was a Sunday with nothing going on. So I was happy to give her something to do.

Lunch at the bar... Great atmosphere inside, very accommodating staff and welcoming environment. Fish tacos with mango remoulade was very good. Not nearly as busy at lunchtime during the week as we would have expected it to be. Well worth the trip, we will be back for dinner for certain.

Service was excellent. We had the wings as an appetizer and they were great. I had the stuffed trout and that was excellent. Risotto was a little undercooked but overall the experience was solid.

Excellent excellent quality seafood and steak restaurant in the Grand Hotel. Nice variety of American fare. We had a wonderful waffle fry special appetizer! Great service too.

Enjoyed a delicious dinner here- you know, the kind that makes you do a happy dance in your seat! Very clean restaurant & so convenient to be located within the Grand Hotel, where we stayed for the weekend.

Our server Sandra was the nicest lady! Very prompt service. The food was super good, mozzarella was extremely fresh, and they had the best french fries! The creme brulee with apricot was the best creme brulee I've ever had at a restaurant. 10 out of 10 will come back

The best crab cakes in all of Cape may. Also great other fish on trays and main entrees.

Had cocktails to celebrate our son's USCG Graduation and had good service. We stayed here at the hotel as well and the Grand was a good place to have a view of the beach and be within a few min. Of the USCG CAPE May Base for easy access for graduation

Had a delicious dinner and great experience. The staff did a great job and the environment was great. The beast is a great pick for a drink.

We were staying at the Grand and didn't feel like going out anywhere, so we decided to try Hemingway's and we are so glad we did. Bar staff was awesome, and food was excellent.

Very Good Restaurant in Cape May N.J.

Tonight my husband and i ventured out for dinner to Hemingways located in the Grand Hotel. I was looking forward to it since we had not been there yet. Everything was excellent. The shrimp scampi was excellent as well as my husbands cowboy ribeye which was a perfect medium rare.Since dinner was a wonderful experience we decided to end our otherwise perfect night with cocktails at the bar, again provided with the same stellar service as our dinner. The date night we had planned had gone beyond my expectations and I attribute this to the level of attention and service provided by our servers and quite specifically a young man I believe was the manager or host. Which is why I felt the need to shed light on what happened next. If i didnt see it with my own eyes, i wouldnt have believed it ,But first it was the commotion i heard that interrupted an otherwise charming night. A gentleman at the bar suddenly loudly and without warning, started to complain about his having to wait a bit before he was to be seated, as any patron out to dinner has experienced. His complaint grew to shouting as he made his way towards the dining room to find the manager who by the looks of it was working hard to prepare this gentleman’s table. Cursing and screaming in this young mans face, most of us were visibly shocked at such a display of behavior. As the manager tried to apologize several times while trying to accommodate him, amidst the verbal attack, this customer was unrelenting. It appeared as the manager was trying to retrieve menus for his table, it was then that the man attempted to grab him by his shirt and continued as i see It to verbally assault him. I felt the need to note this whole ordeal as many of us, including myself find ourselves working with the public and it is a prime example of not only how stressful it can be, but also to recognize extreme professionalism under abnormal circumstances. After all of this and again, why i feel the need to write this review, is the manager who introduced himself as Bill, still managed to make his way over to us at the bar and to see how our dining experience was after all that. Its for the service by our waitress, our bartender Siobhan, the food and mostly for Bills effort and professionalism,I give Hemingways 5 stars!!!

Dinner last night was fantastic. Great environment. Great patrons. Bar tenders were absolutely on point. Devon and Dom made for a fantastic evening for us. Food was delectable!! The aged ribeye was cooked to perfection and I absolutely would recommend. Don't sleep on this place if you visit the area.!!!

Apparently, Hemingway's is a 1st class restaurant. First class seared scallops. Unfortunately, their vegan menu is non-existent. Also, a 1st class breakfast but again, no vegan options. There is another restaurant in Cape May that has much to offer to vegans however this review is about Hemingway's.

This place is attached to The Grand Hotel on Beach Ave. First time we ate here in all the years we been going to Cape May. We shouldn't of waited so long because it was fantastic!

Food was phenomenal. Service was exceptional, particularly Ashley. Probably the best meal I've had in the area.
