Desert Sand Resort

The room was spacious and clean. Comfortable bed and bedding. Kitchenette was nicely outfitted. Has two pools. One indoor which was nice and warm. Only complaint was there weren't always a sufficient number of pool towels available. All in all I had a pleasant time there and would recommend it.

First of all, the room was immaculate, the staff was incredibly kind and accommodating. The pools were pristine and perfect. Here’s the kicker, we hid money from ourselves under the utensil tray in a kitchen drawer and forgot to get it. Called and it was still there and they’re sending it to us. Incredibly impressive to experience such honesty and genuine goodness these days.

We've been coming here for years. It's clean, comfortable and the staff is nice. Two pools perfect. One block from beach (short block) so you can spend the day between the pool and ovran. Clean means slot. I have two small suggestions, it's hard to get out of the pool for me and there is no shade st the pool, so add some umbrellas and fix the steps or just add a hand rail to the other side. Other then that, perfect!🐳🏖

I rarely write reviews, but I had to write about the Desert Sand Resort. My husband and I took our 2 1/2 year old daughter for a 2-night stay here last week (June 22-24). We booked from a LivingSocial deal and got a great price, but were uncertain about our trip since we had never been to Avalon or this hotel before. We staying in a King 1-bedroom with full kitchenette. We were so impressed with how updated the rooms were, not to mention they were spotless. The cleaning crew came through on our second day there and left the place looking amazing, they even did our dirty dishes! The location couldn't be better. Just one block off the beach, and one block from Stone Harbor. The beach was family-filled and not too crowded. There was plenty of shopping and cute restaurants/coffee shops within walking distance. Next beach trip we will absolutely stay here again!

Great place to stay! Clean, quiet, well maintained, GREAT cleaning staff, comfortable beds/pillows, in door pool for rain days, close to beach, close drive to shopping & boardwalks. Dishes, pots pans & coffee pot included, huge patio tables chairs umbrellas for outdoor time. Only complaint.. a 4 person room only comes with 2 beach passes. You have to purchase extras on the beach.

We love this place. The rooms are simple and adequate. We've stayed in both double rooms and suites and each are perfect for a low key trip to the beach. Bathrooms are well maintained. Facilities are clean. Bare bones laundry area, which is PERFECT for doing here and there a stained shirt or dirty beach towel (or a load of them...) The indoor pool, again, not fancy, but well maintained and perfect for a rainy day or chilly evening. You can walk to the beach from your room! Staff is friendly and accommodating! Simply put- we don't look anywhere else when booking our vacations!

Beautiful. Close to beach. Spacious. Comforts of home. Clean bathrooms. Kitchens. Pools are great! Indoor and outdoor. Beds a little hard and pillows. Wish one of them was a little better for rest. But still an A+. No need to rethink this place. Cleaning service is top notch. Grounds even clean. Plenty of parking. Staff seems great too.

Resort was amazing! Pricing was appropriate, clean, friendly, two great pools, good rooms. Staff was friendly and helpful. Close to shops, restaurants, and markets. We will definitely be staying there again.

This was our second summer staying at the Desert Sands and I can't imagine staying anywhere else.One block from the beach,free parking, excellent service by the housekeeping crew and a pool right outside my door. Used to stay at the Golden Inn but Icona ruined that by doubling the prices. Glad they did or I might have never found this place. Left my Fire Stick and they sent it to me priority mail ! The only thing I can complain about is the lack of a good internet signal. Love the place and have already put my reservation in for next summer.

Best deal for a weekend anywhere in Avalon / Stone Harbor. A short walk to beach. Only a few blocks into Stone Harbor. Staff is friendly and helpful and rooms are clean and spacious. Best deals are the off-season spring and fall weekends. Can't wait to come back.

When we entered our room it was very clean. It actually smelled like bleach. They scrubbed everything down. The staff was very helpful. We would definitely go and stay sgain

LOVE this place !! It is clean, like very very clean, and the staff is super friendly. The pools are nice and the place is clean outside as well. I have no compaints..... the price is good and you are only a block from the beach. It is ALWAYS costly in the beach areas regardless.....

Definitely enjoyed my stay. Very close to the beach. Everything was clean and rooms were up to date. Staff was very friendly. Including cleaning staff.

The remodel looks great. Always clean and so reasonable especially in Sept. I left my phone charger behind when checking out Sun. Promptly received it in the mail on Wed. Thanks.

It was actually the Beachcomber Resort. Outstanding rooms with attention to detail in every aspect. Is very reasonably priced during off season wedding that we went to.

Great place very friendly staff easy chec in and check out. Ample parking, they had a special stay 3 nights I get 4th free, they have a heated in door pool.

Indoor AND outdoor pool. Friendly staff. Much quieter (less expensive) than other options. We have been staying here for 20+ years.

Stayed in a beautifully remodeled 2 room suite, 2 queen beds, 2 baths. Off street parking. Great location, short walk to beach and entertainment !
