Fred's Tavern & Liquor Store

Absolutely love Fred's. Fred's is one of those restaurants you'd cry if it went downhill. For years it's been a staple in my family of "hey let's go to Fred's. The food has always been top notch, and never let us down. You could come in having a horrible day and leave with a smile, good food will do that to you. Definitely on my first choice list for restaurants in the area.
(Also those damn onion rings are to die for. Absolutely 20/10) Also really loved my burger, really well cooked and prepared.

I've been visiting Stone Harbor for 50 years and since I was old enough to remember there has always been a Fred's Tavern. Over the years it's expanded from just a liquor store to a great Tavern bar and now they have a pretty nice inside restaurant area and also an outside patio dining area. Good to be comfortable inside with the AC when needed, otherwise I personally prefer the outside patio. Fred's has always had fair prices on everything they sell which can be hard to find in a summer Resort Beach town. Was very pleasantly surprised to learn they have a very good menu with an amazing kitchen! Great steak and cheese subs if that's your thing but they also have great salads and other fare. Had one of the best chicken fajitas in my life here. Best onion rings by far! No question. And to top things off menu items are not outrageously expensive either. Very reasonable prices!

Enjoyed some apps last night while meeting with a collegue. The salads are very generous and all the ingrediants were fresh. I think the onion rings might be homemade....I've had them a few times over the years and they never disappoint.

This place is amazing. Waitress brought us new drinks before we even had a chance to finish our firsts. Food was hot and fresh also delicious.
Do not go anywhere else to eat in stone harbor.

Great liquor store, get a t-shirt or two while there. Or, stop by the bar / restaurant next door. Great people, huge selection, and less than the ACME.

I thought it was a closed dive bar from the outside. Inside was very clean. Great food. If we are in the area we shall return.

Stopped here for lunch. OuR group had Philly cheesesteak sandwichES and cheeseburgerS Both were very good. Prices reasonable, wait staff excellent (they really hustle)! We have been here before and Fred’s is always reliable. Nice outdoor area or you can be inside in air conditioning.

Ordered the Fred burger - awesome and the onion soup were some of the best

Wonderful tomato soup and grilled cheese, a perfect combo on a cold winter's afternoon!

Amazing restaurant and very enjoyable. Sometimes busy, but still quite calm. Enjoy seafood, a bar, sandwiches and burges including weekly specials and steak. Enjoyable for the whole family, I highly recommend this

Delicious food with large portions. Good beer selections too!

The portions of fresh fish in the tacos were generous and hearty and not battered and fried. The prices are fair, even low for the area, and the service great. Would recommend.

Went to Stone Harbor Pizza Pub. They thought my 23 year old daughter's ID was fake. The same ID that went through 2 airports on the way to New Jersey. The waitress brought a manager out and took her ID and my wife's for 15 minutes. I walked out and went to Fred's Tavern. So much better! You can tell it is quality do to the late night crowd and all the locals. Great food, great service. Stone Harbor restaurants are expensive but you get your money's worth. Great chicken quesadillas, great french onion soup, great wedge salad, and a great crab soup special. Any of the Reed's restaurants rely on the view. Food and service are a complete afterthought. Get a quality meal at Fred's Tavern and take a very short walk to get a great view (before or after the meal). The views are so easy to find in Stone Harbor. Avoid any restaurant owned by the Reed's.

The Cuz and I stopped in last evening, one of our "go to" places when in town for good food. Ordered the California burger and the "Western Blue" both amazing! and Jessica? the best... full of energy and so personable!! always a great vibe and great food at Fred's!

As a beach town dive, it doesn't get better than this. Clean, comfortable. Outstanding service. A slightly rowdy edge. The real neighborhood joint, people getting off work... mixing and mingling. It's the real feel of a small town bar but at the shore. Must visit.

Good food for what it is. But don't expect a lot of regular dinner options. Mostly standard apps and burgers and sandwiches. The nachos are pretty good as well.

Lunch was very good. Waitress was very pleasant and attentive. The Maryland crab soup was tasty but could have been hotter.. Crab Cake sandwich was excellent and wife's grilled cheese had bacon on sourdough bread was equally yummy.

We were at Cape May for our sons Coast Guard graduation, had no idea where to go to for dinner but wanted to support a locally owned business. So glad we found this place. Great food, great atmosphere, loved the location. Wish we had more time, we would have went back for more.

Came here at 6:30 on Saturday Labor day weekend with a party of 7 and got sat right away. I think because its a little off the main drag. Small tavern but relatively nice for the name "tavern". The food was well liked by all. The Hot Chicken Ceaser Salad was very good, as were the Quesadillas. No complaints.
Has a good amount of TVs for gameday. Good selection of draft beer too.

Can I give six stars? The cheesesteak is among the best in the region, which is saying something. Burgers and salads are good. They have a strong beer selection. The interior is inviting. The staff is great. Absolutely nothing not to like.
