Congress Hall

We were so happy to be able to experience this gorgeous hotel. Went in March. Stunning. The renovations have beautified the property while keeping to the historical era. Be sure to join the free hotel history walking tour...so informative!! Rooms were spacious and clean. Don't miss the Blue Pig Tavern (fireside dining), Tommy's Folly Cafe, The Boiler Room (pizza and history) and The Brown Room for cocktails by fireside. Gorgeous grounds and across from the beach.

Beautiful, historic hotel with lots of charm. Celebrated a birthday and partcipated in their Murder Mystery weekend. Perfect entertainment for off season. Also really enjoyed the live entertainment (guitar player Friday and piano player Saturday); professionals who knew their audience. Cocktails in front of the fireplace, attentive staff and delicious food.
Our rooms were spotless, comfortable bedding and nice views since hotel is centrally located near Victorian homes, beach and boutique stores. Once you park there is plenty to do without getting back in a car. Wish I had time to take the history tour of the hotel...next time!

This post is from December 2023. I stayed overnight with a friend of mine in a two queen town view room during the week. The room is beautiful and clean. The linens to the bed are plush and cozy. The decorations during this stay were magical and beautiful. We had a coctail at the lounge before our reservations at the Blue Pig. The food and attentive service was 5 star. We walked outside the hotel property after our wonderful dinner. The smell of outdoor firepit Christmas filled the air. So beautifully decorated and nostalgic outside. Do not hesitate this hotel is 5 stars.

Such a beautiful Hotel! It was decorated beautifully for the holidays. The bar was so cozy with a beautiful vibe and gorgeous fireplace. Going to make this a holiday tradition. The rooms were clean and quaint. Loved that they had outdoor seating with heaters in the winter. Great outdoor concessions for holiday shopping. Loved the churro and hot chocolate bar. Everything was just beautiful!

Not only is this hotel steeped in history and the tradition of the east coast's first seaside resort town, they know hospitality!
The hotel is located perfectly near the ocean with views galore! Our room provided the unique opportunity to see BOTH sunset and sunrise through the same window!
Fireside couches, a cozy upscale bar setting and dining/shopping options on site make for a complete vacation experience. We will return!

There is no better spot than Congress Hall in Cape May. You are in the middle of the action so you can valet your car for the weekend and walk to shops & restaurants, not to mention the beach! That's if you even want to leave. Between the Brown Room and the Veranda, there is always something going on. The food and service at the Blue Pig are always top notch. It's the perfect home base for exploring all that Cape May has to offer in any season!

I have been going to Congress Hall for 20
Years. I believe the last time I checked in I had stayed there 400 nights:). So, clearly it’s a special place for me and my children who have grown up there celebrating their birthdays, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, summer vacations, spring breaks, and many other moments. The staff and service has always been spot on and their variety of activities and quiet spaces make for the perfect getaway for all ages. I have stayed at all of the Cape Resort hotels in Cape May and each one is unique. But Congress Hall is the Grand Dame of them all and its seaside location and great lawn are simply majestic. I’m grateful it’s only a 2 hour drive from home because often I will just escape for a night alone to breathe in the ocean air and walk along their beaches while staying in a place that feels better than home.

this was our 3 time staying hear this year. They never disappoint service staff rooms property , impeccable.I did the historical tour very informative & fun I would highly recommend .

We absolutely love the way they decorated for Christmas. The tree outside is beautiful and the winter wonderland is stunning. The congress hall is and always will be top notch. It is highly recommend to all to go and visit.

We did not stay here, but we went to check out the shops and have a drink at the bar. Everyone was friendly and beautifully decorated for Christmas. We did stay here and eat in the restaurant a couple years ago and it was very nice.

This is a beautiful old landmark hotel, very unique and a lot of fun to investigate and look around. The staff are outstanding and Bob the General Manager handles any potential issues perfectly. Debra at the desk was great too, the people who work here are very connected to the place. The pool was great and it’s a very walkable location, Lighthouse took us about 45 minutes! There are great casual and more formal food choices as well. Very enjoyable week!

My husband and I are from Northern New Jersey and have been coming down to Cape May for the past 8 years, but we’ve never stayed in Congress Hall, even after walking past it a countless number of times. When deciding where to come for our honeymoon, we chose Congress Hall. From the moment we got here until the moment we checked out, our experience was nothing short of amazing. After checking in, David at the front desk had champagne and chocolate covered strawberries sent to the room for us with a thoughtful hand-written note. It was a great way to start the trip. Being that we had already done all there is to do in Cape May, we were excited to relax and take advantage of all Congress Hall had to offer. The service at the front desk and the pool, as well as the service, food, and drinks at The Blue Pig, The Brown Room, and The Boiler Room was exceptional. Everyone we met and interacted with was extremely kind, and the overall ambiance of the entire resort was so positive. Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. You truly feel like you’re in a different world while you’re here- you don’t even have to leave! Congress Hall exceeded our expectations- and we will indeed be back next year.

Brown room is simply spectacular, rooms are fresh, historic spot on clean. Great music and absolutely stunning food

Congress Hall is exceptionally nice. Not necessarily a quiet getaway but if your looking to have great food an incredible room and excellent service this is the place for you.

A wonderful establishment with world class service. My wife and I had our honeymoon here and the team was so kind and thoughtful during our stay, which made it very special. Highly recommend.

I booked a 75 min Swedish massage for two.
You can steam and shower before. Must arrive 30 minutes before appointment. The rooms are decorated like a cabana. Their not noise proof.
Inesa was great, asking the proper questions and informing of my tense areas. 1 of the best massages I’ve had.
The spa is clean and staff is very friendly.

Loved watching the transformation of this gorgeous historic hotel through our years of coming to Cape May. Staying here was a treat, best pillows ever, loved music and drinks in the gorgeous Brown Room, had a deelish meal in the Tavern as well as a fine breakfast outside. The historic photos and info and coffee shop are faves too.

Congress Hall in Cape May, NJ is an absolute gem that exceeded all of my expectations. From the moment I stepped foot into this historic hotel, I was transported to a world of elegance and charm. The staff greeted me with smiles and impeccable service, making me feel like a valued guest throughout my entire stay.
