Awesome fishing spot, it's a little walk to the lake, but worth it. When you get back there, there is a nice wooden dock with benches, or there are a few trails that lead around the lake if you want find a nice little spot yourself. The pond is well stock with sunnies but other then turtles, I haven't seen much. Definitely worth a try and great for little kids.

Hard to believe this used to be a golf course! Very nice place for a walk either a short one or 2.6 miles, asphalted paths.

Relaxing Park to go to that has bicycle trails along with pavement trails so a mother and child with a stroller can even use the Park. Very relaxing should go fishing and just hang out for a few hours

Excellent variety of migrating songbirds. We’ll-maintained walkways. The habitat restoration is coming along very well.

Tremendous gem in Villas, NJ.

While most visiting the county are hitting the south and east shore beaches, I found myself returning to this fantastic outdoor rec area in Villas. Beautiful flora teaming with all varieties of bird species making their migratory pattern through NJ. The area was built on an old golf course from the 1970s, more than enough time to create a sprawling outdoor paradise. Plenty of ponds, bigger ponds, fishing opportunities, and grade A hiking for those who want to burn their calories with the pups. Due note: in spring, poison ivy can be spotted, so if you like hiking with kids (recommended) be careful!

Hidden jem in Villas, NJ. A former golf course turned into a Wildlife Management Area. Several paved walking trails of various lengths. There is also a pond where various water fowl and animals can be viewed.

As you walk through, do not forget to look up occasionally. You might just see an owl or hawk.

Part of the many NJ Fish & Wildlife Nature Refuges, Cox Hall Creek is the result of "Narure taking its course" when the private Ponderlodge Golf was abandoned around 1997 & the NJFWS made this a Wildlife Management Area which now boasts a nesting pair of Bald Eagles, dozens of regional Songbirds, freshwater Ponds with colorful Dragonflies & noisy Frogs. A great place to spend a few hours appreciating the wonderfully beautiful Natural Environment we are blessed with here in the Cape May area.

Great place to enjoy nature by yourself or with the family. Bike and walking trails are old cart paths from the golf course so they are asphalt and easy to walk or ride on. The large pond provides great fishing. Plenty of wildlife to photograph.

This 'golf course- turned- preserved open space' is a beautiful piece of property and one of my favorite spots to walk our dogs and enjoy the changing seasons. Paved paths left over from golf cart days are perfect for walking and running. There are several ponds teeming with frogs and turtles and part of the park is open for duck hunting.

Beautiful on an overcast day. There fish seem to be biting, and the birds are singing. Definitely a wonderful and welcome dose of nature without being too far off the beaten path :-) dogs & bicycles seem to be welcome and well accommodated

When the weather is right, it's a great place to walk yourself or with dogs. We usually go down and meet a lot of wonderful people and pups, giving my new girl a great chance to socialize.

It's usually clean and quiet, one thing I do wish is they had more trash cans/areas to discard of any waste.

Nice quiet nature sanctuary, leashed dogs okay. An old golf course so you can stroll all the different area and see the sights of nature, bird watching, fresh water fishing, clean air and a place for the kids to run.

A nice place to relax and do a little pond fishing or swimming . It is considered a pond since it is not very deep . There are marked walking trails that run around the property to walk your dogs , your kids or bike rides .

Beautiful trails with a variety of scenery. Its a nice way to spend a few hours walking and enjoying the peace. Its nice that there's smaller trails or longer depending on how long you want to explore for.

Fabulous for birding, went there through an offering of the Cape may Audubon society's fall festival. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Cant wait for the bird to return in the spring.
