Atlantis Maritime Academy worked great for my busy schedule. The course offers you all the education, training, and examples you need to learn in an easy to use format. I would recommend AMA for anyone looking to get a six pack license.

Atlantis Maritime Academy offers a comprehensive online course if you are looking to get your captains license. I did the OUPV/6 pack course and was able to work on it at my pace which was slow because of work, but they were patient and very helpful. i would like to acknowledge Captain Ralph for helping me stay on track and giving me the the tools i needed to get this course and exam done. I've been operating boats since the age of 8. At 28 now I was very impressed at how much knowledge I gained from the online Atlantis Maritime Academy. The course is very thorough and easy to stay on track. I would study a few hours a night after work and the online quizzes make it very easy to test yourself. If ever I had a question all I had to do was call one of the captains assigned to help and they would walk me through any issues I had at any time of day. I highly recommend this course for anyone interested in completing the captains course and moving forward in your maritime career. A definite A plus.

I had the privilege to go through their material and it is by far one of the easiest, most comprehensive, effective, and REAL OUPV training courses in the world. The best way to succeed is to read what you are given and think critically when making decisions or facing problems because that is what the job of a captain is, and Atlantis prepares you for that more than 100%.

I took the OUPV 6 pack course. The course was very thorough and help was readily available when needed. I would highly recommend this course for people with a busy schedule who only have a few hours each night to study.

An overall successful experience...

A good way to do the course for those of us who live part of the year away from physical course centers. Course can be worked into your schedule without having to travel. You should have a good internet connection and study habits.

Excellent online course i trully learned quite a bit and found it very easy to understand. Now the most important part was how fast and responsive Capt Ralph was to our questions and modules etc...

I am only leaving one star because I have to leave at least one otherwise I would leave ZERO. I called about a discrepancy on the website and the guy answered with a very unenthusiastic "hello" , that's it. He did not identify himself or the company. After establishing that I did have the correct number, I attempted to ask my question, when he interrupted me, to ask if I was the one taking the course. I explained, no my husband and I were looking for an online mariners course to obtain a six-pack license, but before I could finish, he interrupted me again, saying he doesn't talk to wives, girlfriends or significant others, since they won't be taking the course!! I handed the phone to my husband who continued to get berated. and told he should probably take in class courses because "this isn't a community service"!!! Clearly insinuating that my husband wasn't captain material. My husband suggest that maybe HE should find another line of work! Needless to say we will be getting our Captain's License elsewhere.

This was truly a horrible experience. There is zero support. Course claims you have 24 hour access, that is not correct. Half of the modules time out and your place in the section is lost and you have to start over. I had to take the exam five times before system would except that I completed course. Capt. Ralph blamed me every time I called for assistance. I had to email copies of my course completion several time before whatever glitch the system was having was fixed. It has been over 8 months and I have not received my certificate of completions for my course or a test date. And somehow I am told that is my fault.

I called the number listed for the Atlantis Maritime Academy today to ask some questions pertaining to their online course and verify some information that I read online. When the man finally answered the phone (at least 6 or 7 rings) I was greeted with a less than enthusiastic "Hello". That was it ... hello, no introduction or identifying of the school. I continued to ask him to outline the online program. His response to me was "it is all there on the website." I continued to inform him that I read the entire website and that I needed to make sure there were week to week time frames that I needed to meet, etc. He then said "maybe this program is not for you and you may benefit from a classroom session". "If you can't understand the website then you probably will struggle with the class." I proceeded to try to explain what I was trying to ask...he repeated his answers, trying diligently to get me off the phone, pretty much all but calling me an idiot. He also picked up another phone call while on the phone with me, held a brief conversation, all while I was on the line trying to talk to him. He did not even have to courtesy to ask me to hold. I told him I was not appreciating his demeanor, that this is poor customer service for a business hoping for my money. He then proceeded to hang up on me.

If you need to talk to someone or have questions while taking the online course, be ready for a tongue lashing, being belittled and one of the worst customer experiences you will probably ever have. The guy answering the phone has a real chip on his shoulder and a grudge against anyone who is "less educated than him" and will not hesitate a second to become combative and insult you. Funny thing is I have 2 bachelors and a masters degree and make six figures at one of the highest rated financial institutions for customer service in the county. I was not willing to stoop to that level of discourse and cordially said thank you for his help. I just hope I can finish this course without ever having to call them again.

I left one star because I couldn't leave zero!! This school is a RIP OFF!! Web site clearly states full refund minus 75 dollars if within 15 days they gave me 164 dollars out of almost 500!! Don't I repeat DONT... waist your time or money on this company!!!! There are way better options out there!!!

Very poor experience. As a Coast Guard veteran I am so very disappointed that they can say it is a veteran owned company or at least it used to be advertised as such but they are undergoing many changes. There were two incidents that occurred, but I will only talk about the second one. I had called in order to try and resolve a problem with some of the slides not working properly. Long story short, we figured that it might be my internet speed (which is impeccable). I then AGREED that I may have been wrong and was going to listen to the advice given. That is when the conversation should have ended. I was then told to read whats on his screen (share screen) which was a question on one of the slides that I couldn't read. I said, " Oh yeah, I can see it now!" Then he said, "Read it," and then right after reading the question I was ordered to answer it. this continued for all 5 questions, read it! answer it! I have never been so belittled in my entire life.

I do not write reviews ever, and this is my first and hopefully last one I will ever write. The sad part was, was that the man was actually pleasant to talk to in the beginning, and then just took an absolute turn for the worse. It felt like he was on a mission to just bury me deeper after admitting that I was probably wrong when troubleshooting the problem.

Find another program everyone.

All the 5 star reviews are obviously fake. Just read them. “Captain” Ralph Is the epitome of a troll. This “program” isn’t a course at all. It’s a scam…

Horrible experience. I could not log on an they could not help me. They should not have an online class if they can't help you. I was told that most people get help from there kids and mabe I should find another class if I can't figure out how to log on. Also would not refund the total amount back. This is ran by people that do not know what they are doing then blame it on you. Do not use!!!

Don't waste your time and money.
The "capt" runing this course is stupid and rude person.
Too many mistakes in the material and test examps.
I should do my home work first and not fall for empty promisses

Stay away. The course is riddled with errors, the technology is 10 years old and the owners are unhelpful and aggressively rude. Can't understand how the USCG allows them to operate as an approved provider.
