Bar Sol

Bar Sol is a seafood restaurant. My friends and I came here for a concert. If not for the concert, I would order the whole fish, I saw it from the table next to us, it is huge. I would definitely come back to try it. Since I cannot take food to go, I ordered the platter, it is still surprisingly huge. my husband ordered ceviche, also big portion and tastes good.

The first time I was at this bar was on New Year's Eve, it was a beautiful party, really an incredible night, of music, dancing, drinks, the appetizers were great, and at the end they served a delicious brownie!

Some of the tastiest food we have had since we arrived in Chicago. We sat outside at a very quiet time so can't really comment on the atmosphere, but it's a great location looking over the harbour to the south. Very relaxing in the sun 👍

Absolutely amazing food.
Lobster rolls and the seafood stuffed pineapple were so good, even the fries they came with were so flavorful.

If you do seafood, you must get the Mariscada. Simply amazing blend of Caribbean flavors with a peanut sauce that reminds me of Indian cuisine. And the two taco platter with steak was perfect. A word to the wise... the salsa on the chips and salsa is about a 5 on the heat scale. Service was spot on, and the staff is super friendly.

My wife had planned a 50th Birthday Party at Bar Sol for me and all I have to say it was awesome! Everyone loved the place and the views of the city from the second floor of where the party took place. The food (trays of empanadas, sliders, pizza, skewers (beef & chicken) and chips/salsa) was delicious! Many of our guests had also shared with us of how much they enjoyed it. Benny (owner/manager), his staff and bar tenders were extremely nice and helpful. They also went above and beyond to make sure that our area was sealed off from another event which was happening at the same time on the other side of the restaurant. They added 20’+ tall black heavy plastic drapes from ceiling to floor and he also had left the middle area of the restaurant as a buffer from the other event, which also had a DJ. They also provided staff which were assigned in the downstairs part of the restaurant to escort our guests to our private event upstairs.

I celebrated my 40th birthday at Bar Sol.. from the the very start- Tim was extremely helpful and accommodating! He advised me what would be the best option for my party of 35-40 ppl! Day of - the staff was extremely friendly and everything went smoothly! We occupied a portion of their 2nd level event space! The space itself is beautiful and open! And if I might …. AMAZING views. All my guests loved the space and we had a great time! Their house DJ is also great - my guests danced all night long! They even allowed me to come in earlier to decorate for the party which I loved…. Food / drinks and staff all A+…

I went here with my friends for my birthday dinner. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was relaxed and chill. Our waitress was excellent!

Service was slow, but to be fair, they were extremely busy... It was a little pricey, but the food was excellent.

My parents and I curbed our hanger here after walking along Navy Pier. We mainly stopped because of the advertised wine deal. We split a bottle of rose wine that was on special, as well as the chips/trio(salsa/guacamole/queso). The server/bartender was friendly and efficient.

My friends and I spent the whole day on Navy Pier watching the Chicago live performance, and we chose Bar Sol to eat to eat. I can tell this is one of the best bars on the Pier! The food was excellent, the service was good and quick, despite the huge number of people at that weekend.

We were surprised when a photographer showed up. She did amazing job taking our photos. She was very professional and friendly. We loved all photos and took them for memory of this amazing day on Navy Pier! Thank you!

The food is amazing!! Neena was our waitress and she was awesome as well!! One of the BEST meals I’ve ever had!! The crab tacos were phenomenal!!

One of the few good places that stays open later on the Pier! We of course wanted to try their different street tacos -- but whatever you order (2 or 3), they all have to be the same. So there were 3 of us and to get around that we all 3 ordered 3 different tacos and it worked out well -- bummer if I'd been by myself. Also...the banana daiquiri was delicious!

It's on Navy Pier, good stop after the Expo. Fish tacos were really good, fish and chips too, good margaritas I hear.

First of all, the wait staff was very very accommodating. We had a party of about 20 and they helped us with our kid's wagon and everything. We had part of our group come later and they fell right in line with the rest of us.

Now the food, I give it 4 stars because some was not worth the money but it was still good. The snapper with the garlic was amazing!!!! Our table ordered 2!!! The French toast was good but it was still too expensive. Drinks were good and the vibe was good. We came in time to still get brunch but ended up still ordering from the dinner menu for the most part.

We sat outside on the patio, which was right along the lake walk. Some of our group finished and just sat along the Pier. This place is further down the Pier so you have to keep walking a bit to find it, but it was a keeper. Kids didn't have to much to pick from, but they ended up getting quesidillas and a shrimp skillet.

Great atmosphere and the food was super!! Definitely worth a visit to Bar Sol!!

Beat Kitchen's Bar Sol is a good place for Mexican food and drinks at Navy Pier.

Service was awesome! Food came out super quick and was really delicious. If you come to Navy Pier in Chicago, do yourself a favor and check this place out.
