The Hideaway

Stayed at the Hideaway for a long weekend getaway during the off season-and we absolutely loved it! Location is ideal, just steps from the beach and beautiful views from the rooftop deck. Rooms are spotless (bed is SO comfy) and just as described. Staff was very kind and helpful. Would definitely come back for another visit!

We enjoyed our weekend stay at the Hideaway Hotel. I must say it’s a far cry from the former Jolly Roger. The location is fantastic for those who wish to escape the busy side of LBI. A walk on the beaches of Holgate will set your mind and body at ease. The rooftop lounges will allow you to truly enjoy the peacefulness of its location. Enjoy a morning snack in the lobby where the staff offers coffee and a morning treat to start your day. The staff is wonderful and will try to accommodate your needs.

My boyfriend and I stayed here twice this summer and it’s amazing. I love that bowkers is right next door. The beach across the street always has a lifeguard and there’s a bathroom right there too. Rooms are so well maintained. Beds are so comfortable. The roof deck is amazing too. Staff is very kind. We’ve already said that this is where will stay every time we come back. Thank you

The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating! The hotel is so clean with a fresh feeling throughout The rooms were clean and bright and the beds were very comfortable. Being directly across the street from the beach was amazing. The rooftop decks were really nice at night and then again for coffee in the morning! We had a great time and are looking forward to returning!

Lovely spot to spend a few lazy days at the beach-it’s literally 100 feet from the hotel. The staff is fantastic! Very attentive and helpful with all things LBI. The room was comfortable and has updated amenities like a rain shower, adjustable light vanity mirror, usb plugs at the bedside and designer toiletries. The decks are a major plus to checkout the sunset/sunrise.

Bright, clean, comfortable accommodations, nice perks, helpful staff. Great location away from busy traffic and crowds, convenient access to the beach and wildlife sanctuary. Looking forward to our next stay!

My wife and I spent a kid-free weekend in LBI in mid-September for our fifteenth wedding anniversary and we were looking for a quiet, clean, updated place to stay that wouldn't break the bank. The Jolly Roger seemed to fit the bill when we booked our stay and I'm happy to say, having now stayed there, it delivered on those expectations.

You can tell the new owners are putting a lot of effort into updating and improving the look and feel of the motel. Our room was clean and the furniture was updated; we loved the semi-private covered outdoor space attached to our room. We utilized the rooftop deck both nights before dinner to share some special bottles of wine together; the view is amazing and the sunsets spectacular (the perfect weather helped!). And perhaps what we noticed most as parents of two younger children was how quiet it was there. Lying in bed early in the morning all we could hear were the ocean waves, it almost felt unnatural at first but rest assured, we adjusted quickly! I'll grant we were there after peak season but I imagine it's fairly quiet there year-round given the location. We took advantage of the beach chairs that were offered to guests but didn't get to use the bikes they had available, love the option though. A special call-out to the staff who accommodated my request to have flowers delivered and in our room prior to our arrival, thanks staff!

Overall it was a wonderful experience and a refreshing respite for us. My parents also get a 5-star review for watching the kids all weekend! We would definitely return in the future, thank you!

We have stayed here 3 times...and we absolutely love it!!! Location...perfect...rooms...clean...updated (love the new dressers!!!) Staff...friendly...helpful...just amazing. (Jordan...Eugene especially!) ...Dominick...no words but a gentleman and a great Manager who is a true asset to the Hideaway! We will never stay anywhere else!!! Thanks for an amazing week!!!

I love holgate so I’m so happy I found this hotel! It’s super cute and small- and steps to the beach and the bay. The rooms smell AMAZING and the rooftop is beautiful. I can’t wait to stay here again!

Exceptional location, comfortable & cozy. We had an amazing view of the ocean and it is only a few minutes walk from the beach.

Emily was very helpful and very responsive over text and phone. The staff is very attentive and they're a well-oiled machine of a team.

I hadn't realized when we booked, but your stay also includes 2 beach tags, access to bikes, and access to 2 rooftop decks. There's crumb cake and coffee in the office available in the mornings. When you check out, you will still have access to the outdoor shower and beach tags until 3p (all this is subject to change, ask Emily and the Jolly Rodger team about amenities!).

If you are looking for a clean, safe, with a friendly staff and right next to the beach hotel look no further. I will definitely being staying again.

This boutique motel is a gem at the south end of the island. The manager was the definition of warm hospitality. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. My favorite memory was playing cards on our adjoining, semi- private balcony at night while hearing the ocean waves. Beach access and beach views were 5 star! We look forward to returning.

Our stay this weekend at the Jolly Roger Motel was excellent. From the moment you are greeted warmly by Lisa, right through the next mornings complementary hot coffee and crumb cake, you will certainly experience first-class hospitality. The rooms are clean and decorated beautifully in a full beach-like design. In less than 100 steps you're already enjoying the warm sand or you can view it from the roof-top deck. We can't wait to return to our new "weekend home on LBI". BTW, for a little exercise, take one of their bicycles out for an enjoyable ride around town. Book your stay today!

Definitely would recommend the Jolly Roger Motel. The motel is in a nice, very quiet location with the beach just steps away. They offer beach bikes as part of the stay which was great if you don’t want to drive down to shops and restaurants. The mattress was extremely comfortable. The ocean breeze allowed for windows open and it was so refreshing. Morning coffee and crumb cake was a great amenity. The motel is remodeling which did not affect us at all. They are working hard to make it look really nice and it shows! We would love return.

Just want to add a disclaimer that this review was written before the current owners bought it, when it was known as the Jolly Roger. I do not know what the new ownership is like or about any changes they gave made. It is sad that they changed the name.

This place was absolutely amazing. We went for a little 2 night stay to see my mother-in-law who came from Williamsport PA to stay there for a week. From the very first phone call I could tell that this small 12 room motel was going to be a special place. The woman that runs it, whose parents bought it in the 70s, is an absolutely wonderful person who cares about her guests. She is full of information about the island and can guide you to anything you're interested in. The location is perfect. All the way at the south end of the island at the final stop sign, if you went any further you would drive into the ocean. The rooms a very clean and comfortable. The decks, especially the top floor deck, offers great views of the ocean and the calming waves. Every guest there were very nice and we had some great conversations. It was our first time there, but it definitely will not be our last. Before we left we booked for an entire week next year. See yall there.

Lovely hotel in a quiet peaceful part of LBI. The bed was really comfortable, the rooftop decks are a great feature, and the young people who work there are incredibly nice and professional!

They really did a wonderful job with the renovation. The rooms are super clean and cozy. It’s a cute, hidden gem away from the chaos and crowds. Seconds away from the Inlet and Beaches.

Quiet, clean, well-appointed rooms, great location steps from the beach. Great roof top area as well. Will return if in LBI again.

Had such a wonderful time staying! The entire staff was gracious and so welcoming. They have thought of every little amenity!
