Isola Italian Trattoria

One of the nice things about being on the Jersey shore in Winter is that you get to tryout restaurants that you would never think of going to in the high season. Isola Italian Trattoria on LBI is one of those. On a cold late February night we were easily seated with warm hospitality and service. We started with a delicious and fresh burrata served with whole artichoke quarters on top of homemade pesto spread and roasted red peppers. The appetizers were served with slices of toasted italian bread that we couldn’t get enough of. For dinner we had the uniquely rolled lasagna that was abundant and flavorful and recommended by many, I had an order of the cavatelli with sausage and broccoli rabe draped with a Calabrian pepper sauce, I enjoyed every bit of it. Save room for their wonderful desserts, we had the apple crisp with cinnamon gelato, outstanding. The only negative I would have are the prices but that seems par for the course wherever you go these days.

We waited all summer to get a reservation here, and finally did in the September off-season. The food was excellent as was the service. Like most restaurants on the island (as well as everywhere else) prices have skyrocketed. BYOB helps moderate the price. We split Cacio E Pepe for appetizer, and it was cheesy and delicious! The braised short rib was also tasty and came apart without even using a knife. The lasagna Bolognese was interesting (picture) but also a bit expensive at $36. This will be one of our “special occasion“ restaurants on the island.

this restaurant is absolutely amazing. It just opened up on LBI and everything we got was incredible. We had the octopus, calamari and meatball appetizer and they were all delicious. The entrees were also amazing. We were truly so impressed and everything we got blew us away. The pizzas are made fresh in the wood fire oven and the lobster pizza was to die for. The desserts are all made fresh and they are delicious you have to save room! The service good and Filomena our server was great. We will absolutely be back

Amazing restaurant in LBI. Service on point and friendly management . The food is yummy as well, and the servings are generous!

Had an amazing experience tonight at Isola! The staff was very accommodating and friendly to my family, especially my 17 month old. The food was delicious and service was exceptional! 10/10 would recommend! Can’t wait to be back again soon, loved the fresh squeezed lemonade as well!

The gnocchi I had was delicious and my husband loved his cavatelli! My daughter enjoyed her meatballs and pasta as well. Definitely recommend the pizza! We sampled a few different pies

The grilled octopus was AMAZING & the calamari just as Amazing! The pizza was delicious. The kids loved it too. All 10 of us loved our dinner. There was No wait and the atmosphere was so fun. Fun music and it was packed so make a reservation! We all will definitely go back!

This place is a must visit on Long Beach Island. I can not recommend everything enough. Try every item because it is all fresh and homemade. With an open kitchen and friendly staff, the experience was phenomenal. The owner personally greeted us and garlic bread was on the house. I had the Cacio et Pépé which was to die for. The focaccia was the best bread I have ever had, salty, soft, and fresh, served with olive oil which we ordered twice. Come and try everything, you will not be disappointed. Make a reservation and come hungry.

We were able to get a reservation on opening night after much anticipation. Isola did not disappoint. Everything was very yummy and fresh and the team was making sure everyone was happy and being taking care of! Looking forward to coming back again. 🍋

Best cheesecake I’ve ever eaten! The entire meal was delicious.

There are so many wonderful things about Isola! We took my in-laws there for the first time and it is now their favorite restaurant. The staff is amazing. Nick was our waiter last night, very attentive and smiles all the time. My husband ordered the Caesar salad. We forgot to ask for no anchovies. I thought I’d try it anyway and they were so good. Not super fishy, I guess I like anchovies now! The squash pizza was incredibly good. A welcomed change from typical pizza( although all the pizzas there are awesome). Still my favorite restaurant on the island!

Special place and now my new LBI favorite. There are lots of old school/tired Italian places like Raimondo’s, Stefanos but Isola adds a fresher, more authentic/modern spin on Italian food. We had Meatball app, Cacio e Pepe, Chicken entree plus their Cavetelli. All were very good. So was our terrific server Nick! We will be back….

Came for dinner with my husband tonight and we can not stop talking about how great the food and service was. I normally don’t review but had to give this place 5 stars. We ordered the fig pizza to start. It was delicious! My husband and I got the Pork chop and the fettuccine bolognese pasta. Both were great dishes! We both agreed the pork chop was the best we’ve ever had. It was cooked perfectly and so crispy. Our server Nick was so friendly as well! Great experience overall. We can’t wait to come back to try out the other dishes!

New restaurant to LBI, we started off with the Burrata and the zucchini blossoms, both were amazing! For my main course I had the short ribs. They were absolutely delicious. Perfectly cooked with great flavor. We didn’t have the pizza but we sat at the bar where they’re made them and everyone of them coming out of the pizza oven look amazing.

We’ve had two great experiences here, one in the summer and one in the winter. Everything has been delicious - highlights were the meatball antipasti (melt in your mouth delicious!), the gnocchi, and the short ribs. BYOB, lovely atmosphere, really top notch service.

The atmosphere was great. If eating outside make sure you reservation is no later than 8pm because it could get a little buggy later. The food was phenomenal start to finish. The short rib and the calamari are a must try. The prices were super reasonable for the quality of food and service! Would 100% recommend checking this place out.

The food, the setting, the ambience, right out off Italy. The service was exemplary and the food was exquisite. The ambience of this restaurant was so amicable that it gave me the feeling that I was at a family gathering. Can't wait to return. A must visit.

Absolutely worth all the hype!!! We've been wanting to go but usually wait until the season ends to try new places on the island (we live in BHW). Philomena was our server and so wonderful, Bella & Steve - the whole team there made us feel like family. We had the calamari & eggplant pizza to start, fresh focaccia bread, the branzino, squid ink pasta and the scallops over risotto. We finished the night off with their caramel cheese cake to celebrate my mother in law's birthday and it was so decadent and delicious. The food, atmosphere and service was fabulous and we can't wait to go back. Highly recommend!

The second time there was very disappointing. We felt extremely rushed.
All food came out at once. We were asked about desert before we even started our main meal. Our meatball appetizer was forgotten.
We had raved about it and when we brought friends to enjoy we were totally embarrassed .🙁

This restaurant did not disappoint us! The Calamari and grilled Octopus were amazing and delicious! Our entrees were also flavorful and filling. Filomena, our server, was exceptional, friendly, and attentive. We definitely are looking forward to another visit soon!
