We usually go to Island Beach State Park with our dog, but the wind wasn't cooperating and the flies were terrible so we came to Fisherman's Cove. Dogs were well behaved and owners were responsible. We went on a Tuesday and Wednesday and it wasn't that busy. Make sure you bring a swim leash-- it makes it so much easier. Easy water entry for both dogs and humans. Lots of fun, a good atmosphere, and nice conversations with other dog people.

Beautiful place from some flounder fishing. Lots of fun and lots bites. Good catch and release. The fish is beautiful and fun to catch. The beach is nice and very isolated, lots of boat go up and down and some of them in a very high speed.

A gorgeous location for a sunset. We saw a swan and a lot of birds, it’s a conservation area. A part of the beach is allowed for dogs and there is a bit where dogs aren’t allowed but people are welcome to watch birds.
There’s a parking nearby and two trails that lead to this beach. Peaceful and magical.

Great place to bring your dog for a nice swim. I took my dog on a Sunday in July and it wasn’t busy. Everyone was very polite and no one bothers if you let your dog off leash. There is a parking lot nearby and pet friendly restaurants that are a short walking distance.

Great dog beach off the canal! Love watching the boats head out to the ocean and come back! Best part is during low tide, I have a small dog who is scared of the bigger waves but LOVES the sandbar here! It's like being out in the water but shes still able to stand! So much fun! It's also very clean and not a ton of people.

Great free dog beach. Dogs must be leashed at all times. There's a nice but small section of beach to walk and play. Some may prefer sneakers or water shoes because there are rocky sections of the beach.
The waves are small and it's ideal for playing fetch in the water. The end of the dog beach is clearly marked by a fence post and in direct sight of the park ranger building. A ranger will come right down and ask you to stay in the marked area. I often see fishermen in the area just beyond the dog beach and would worry about my pooch getting a paw hooked. The township recently took away the dog beach because the residents complained so much about dogs beyond the designated area. Many families with small children use the cove because of the calm water. Local dog lovers had to unite to fight to get the privilege to use the beach back. Please follow the rules.

In season the beach can be packed with both people and dogs. In season it is very difficult to find street parking if you don't get there early leaving you with a long walk on hot pavement/sidewalk for paws. There is a very close parking lot that starts charging at 8am, I think $7 last year. Early risers can get in and out before they start to charge. It's a decent sized lot but it does fill up quickly. Please bring some extra baggies and clean up after yourself & your pooch, plenty of waste bins around.

Beautiful spot to take the puppets! They had a blast and so did we. Gorgeous sunset spot, at least for the end of March! The pictures just don't do it justice.

This is a great dog beach! The shelf goes out quite a ways, so bigger dogs (retriever size and up) can walk the whole way. Make sure you bring your own water and some kind of sandals or water shoes to wear, though: much of the beach close to the edge of the water is bigger shells and crabs, though the sand is lovely further out on the shelf.

Great place to watch the day melt into night.
Fantastic sunsets.
There is a doggie beach at the cove as well so don't leave the woffies at home.

The dog friendly beach in NJ my pet Neo had a happy time. Watch out this is a small creek not an actual beach. We had to wait until 6pm and take him to Asbury beach 8th ave.

It’s a great place to bring your dogs during the summer!
Dogs are kept on leash for the most part and they can swim in the water while socializing with a lot of other pups.
Definitely recommend this place for people looking for a dog friendly beach during peak season down the shore.

My girlfriend and I took our lab here today. The people and dogs where friendly. 99 percent of dogs had leashes on. Great atmosphere. I do wish they dogs could be unleashed to play a little more like longport's dog beach but I can understand why they have to be leashed since the beach is small.

My dog loves the beach but unfortunately it's difficult to find beaches with pet friendly access. Fortunately, this fits the bill nicely and often has other dogs with responsible owners present. Little or no waves is great for the dogs as well.

A beautiful view of the Manasquan river, this park has both a dog beach and a separate fishing area and is free. There is ample street parking during the week, but given its proximity to the ocean beaches, weekend parking during the summer is tight. There is a municipal lot with daily paid parking very close by. A restaurant and a snack shop are within a couple of blocks of the park.
