Scarborough Fair Restaurant

On 12/16/23, we went back with our daughter's family for a holiday, all gluten-free dinner for someone with an allergy. The decorations were all up, and the restaurant looked fabulous. Our waitress Electra took good care of us all night, and we ordered drinks and shared the gluten-free crabcake and calamari in addition to wedge salads. All were delicious. For dinner, we got four different gluten-free entrees: NY strip, Filet Mignon, Duroc Pirk Chop, and the Rack of Lamb. Everyone enjoyed their dinner, and there were no allergic reactions. Excellent!
Dessert was a rich chocolate flour lesson cake and Cappucinos. Overall the service and atmosphere were excellent and we will definitely dine there again.

On 11/2/23 We dined at SFR for the first time, and we were pleasantly surprised. Nice old farm house with add-on offered many interesting places to sit. We opted for low seating in the bar area where we could see the piano player.
Nice wine selection by the glass. Soon after being seated, hot rolls and butter were served. For an appetizer, we tried the Steak Bites, which we cooked perfectly, and came with a tasty horseradish sauce.
For dinner, we both ordered seafood, my wife the scallops, and I got the Mariscada, clams, callimari, and shrimp on pasta with a lighter pesto sauce. Next time, I would ask for some garlic to be added to the Mariscada. My wife said the scallops were perfect.
For dessert, we opted for the pumpkin cheesecake and Cappucinos. All we delicious. Overall, we were very pleased and will plan to visit again soon.

This is an elegant fine dining restaurant. There is a large seating area near the bar, a more secluded room known as the Octagon, and private tables along the stairway known as "stair seating", which must be specifically reserved in advance. We ate in the Octagon room, which was very nice, but will request stair seating next time we return.

Food and service were outstanding. Very accommodating and everything was prepared just as we requested. Delicious salad, wonderful halibut and mahi mahi entrees, and yummy flourless chocolate cake for dessert. There is a nice wine list from which we chose a Pinot Grigio.

There is a large parking lot, and also outside seating.

This is is not an inexpensive restaurant, but it has charm and ambience, nice menu selections, and very attentive service. Definitely a place for a special occasion or romantic dinner. We plan to return the next time we are in the area on vacation. One of the nicest dining experiences we had on our recent vacation.

one of the best restaurants I've ever eaten. it was beautifully decorated for Christmas. there are a ton of stairs so you should be aware of that. the food is absolutely phenomenal. our server was incredible. it's rather expensive but completely worth it. a great place for an anniversary dinner or other special event.

Scarborough has the most delicious and cutest cocktails in a divine setting! I love coming here as a treat for special occasions. Highly reccomend.

Just got back from an early Valentine Day dinner. Food was fabulous, and the decorations for the day were ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING. Nice job. Taylor great job

Enjoyed a great meal everything was very flavorful and cooked just the way we liked. Only thing that was off was the food didn't come out hot it was warm. I like my food piping hot.

Had an amazing meal. Food was absolutely delicious and drinks were also very good. I had the seafood medley which was outstanding and my wife has the snapper special which was seriously delicious. Loved the food, cocktails, ambiance, and the decor made for a wonderful night out. Can't wait to come back.

Stopped by for a glass of wine with a friend after a neighborhood appointment the other night. The bartender was attentive and super friendly, the food was delicious and they know how to decorate for a holiday! Did not eat any entrees this time, but I will go back for sure

Never had a bad meal here. Cute & unique looking restaurant with the main dinning hall upstairs and tables off the stairways going up.

Staff was responsive from the hostess to our waitress. Recommend reservations for weekends & stair sitting even during the weekday.

What makes this place so picturesque is also what makes it harder to maneuver. They have made a lot of improvements to their handicap access over the years, but I would still consider it challenging for those less mobile.

Lastly, I judge every restaurant by how clean their rest rooms are. If they can't keep the bathroom clean, how can they keep the kitchen clean. It was clean and I liked the pebble sink.

It's funny. I will write a review for a diner and give it 5 stars and also write a review of this place which is far more expensive and of a much higher caliber. But a diner is what it is and if a diner does it right, it gets a great review. Scarborough Fair is a step above, of course, but that alone does not earn my stars.
Upon arriving, just the look of the place is fascinating. When entering, you will immediately be struck by the design. Even the floors look great! (I mentioned that to the owner)
We came here to celebrate my wife's birthday (our second time actually....got gift cards for this restaurant and a prior one)
Our waitress, Genine (hope I spelled that right) was simply wonderful and helpful as it was our first time here.
We ordered a bottle of cabernet, which was the least expensive but still very good.
I had the grilled rack of lamb chops, and my wife ordered the shrimp Athenia. My only regret was that they did not have asparagus which I was really looking forward to. But I understand that they have standards and it's not like they can run to the local Foodtown and pick up asparagus that isn't the best quality.
Never-the-less, both meals came out looking delicious. And the taste and quality was simply top notch. The green beans that stood in for the asparagus were fantastic. The lamb cops were some of the best I have ever had. My wife loved her dish and I sampled it too. Just yummy.
My wife had a seafood soup that was also very very yummy.
Yummy was a word I used a lot while there. Probably the best way to describe it all.
We had the pleasure of talking with the owner, Michael, who was as wonderful as the place itself. He even personally decorated our table with some birthday bling once he found out it was my wife's birthday.
This isn't a place to go on a budget, but if you want a special and wonderful dining experience, this is it.

Inside very romantic with some secluded seating. We sat at table at bar since we made happy hour. Drinks and appetizers offered at happy hour were excellent as was dinner. Rack if lamb was delicious and my wife asked for her ravioli dish to be prepared specially. All was perfect. Attention by bartender and all servers were terrific. Before we left a piano player began. Nice touch. Manager (or owner) stopped by to check how meal was progressing. All in all would recommend for really nice meal, ambience and being treated as regular as first timer.

An amazing dinner tonight at Scarborough Fair Restaurant! The most romantic, cozy atmosphere with the most attentive and helpful staff. I messaged them on their website to let them know I wanted to celebrate an accomplishment for my fiance and they went above and BEYOND for us! Table decorations, addressing us by name when we walked in and congratulating by specifics, and giving us champagne to toast with! The food was incredible. Our waitress Hannah recommended incredible dishes and cocktails. I got the short rib special with gnocchi and my fiance got the scallops. We were in heaven. Nothing beats the decor inside. It is so warm and beautiful. Highly recommend this gem of a restaurant!

Went out to dinner for the first time since March last Saturday. We were driving by one of our favorite places and thought it is only 5:15 maybe we can get in since it is just two of us? Luckily they graciously sat us as they had a full book of reservations for the night. First of all they are on the money with meeting every expectation of compliance where you feel very comfortable. We felt like we had our own private corner outdoors and it was very comfortable. Secondly, our waitress Kara was the absolute best! She knows the menu, was very attentive and we could see her smile even though she had on a mask :) Dinner was delicious and even though we were really full, we took home tiramisu for later that evening. It was such a pleasure to finally get out for dinner and to know we feel very comfortable with their set up for eating. You gotta feel for the waiters and waitresses who have quite the task to get your food out to you. Cannot wait to go back very soon, maybe this weekend! Thanks for a terrific evening

Everything we had was delicious and excellently prepared. The Grilled Rack of Lamb Chops were incredibly tender. The Seafood Riviera had amazing flavor. My favorite of the evening was by far the Portobello Mushroom Capri.

The tables along the stairs are very romantic. The ambiance is rustic, but elegant. The exposed brick and wood make for great lighting. The service was excellent and the owner was very friendly.

Romantic, charming and whimsical are a few words that come to mind when thinking about the Scarborough fair. Being a Potter head I'd say it has the feel of the Weasley's Burrow.
We had the mushrooms risotto, which we love to make that at home, and it came creepy close to our own 😉.
The grilled, dry aged 14oz strip steak was phenomenal, the sides were cooked and seasoned very well.
The indulging chocolate truffle flourless cake was rich, delicious and a wonderful thing to share.

Absolutely DELICIOUS! The appetizer to the dessert were so mouth watering. The decorations are beautiful. Happy Valentine’s Day!

My husband I just had an amazing meal here. The drinks were beautifully presented and equally delicious. Our waiter, Nicholas, was polite, informative, and had a good knowledge of wine pairing to go with our dinner. We started with the Spanakopita as an appetizer, which was homemade and the best I've ever had. The filo dough was flaky, while the inside boasted whole leaf spinach and cheese. The flavor was fresh, simple and pleasantly light. There was a bit of Greek salad in the middle that had a great quality Feta cheese with kalamata olives. This was not too filling and a perfect shared starter. I ordered the Filet Mignon over the smashed Yukon Gold potatoes, and substituted the Asparagus for Carrots. My meal was well presented and cooked perfectly. My husband ordered the grass fed Rib Eye, which was less fatty, and full of flavor, Over the smashed potato's and vegetable mirepoix. I think his meal was a special for the evening. Chef Trevor visited our table to make sure our meal was prepared to our liking. I would say this wasn't just a dinner, it was an experience. I would highly recommend reservations, because this restaurant is not a secret to the locals and travelers alike. I will be back to try the lunch menu! Bon Appetite!

Driven past all of my life and somehow this was my first time here. It was a totally perfect experience. The atmosphere is unrivaled. Great service at the by Michael at the upstairs bar. Impeccable food.

Beautifully decorated for Valentine’s Day. Romantic areas around two spiraling staircases for intimate dinner for two or 4. Food excellent: friends had steak, raviolis, scallops. I had delicious vegan carrot pumpkin soup and then a lovely portobello mushroom that satisfied my vegan preference. Highly recommended. Pretty outside too!

Love this place! Great service, food and people! The restaurant is beautiful and always so festive and decorated. Would highly recommend for a romantic date night out!
