Came home very late from being away to no heat. Called Rick around 7am and he had his guys here within an hour. They were also able to fix the toilet and came back the next day with a new hot water heater to replace the old one that was shot. Great job and much appreciated.

I cannot speak highly enough of Rick and his company. He is very responsive, knowledgable, and honest. We used him for multiple utility related projects/installations and I couldn't be happier with the quality of the work. Rick is also extremely honest and without going into details, was fair in his assessments of other quotes I showed him from competitors (that is, he acknowledged when competitors gave reasonable quotes). He is not pushy and seems to actually care about his customer's satisfaction and needs. I would not hesitate to use his company's services again. Thank you, Rick, for a great experience.

My family and I have been using Rick and Blackdog for the past 10 years and we won’t consider ever using anyone else. Last night (Friday, August 13), in the midst of a heat wave, our AC stopped working. It is a system that Rick and Blackdog had installed within the past 24 months.

I called Rick at 8:30pm and left a message. Although it was hot, it certainly was an emergency. I didn’t expect him to get back to me until Monday at the earliest.

By 8:30am on Saturday morning, Rick texted me and asked me to call him at my earliest convenience.

By 10:00am, I had a tech on site and by 11:00am, my central air was up and running.

That’s customer service, reliability, and going the extra mile. We are blessed to have found this company and won’t go elsewhere.

Rick and his wife are really nice, honest and very easy to work with.
I needed a new furnace in my house. Not a small job.

I had an emergency at my new home. Water leaking through the ceiling. Rick from Black Dog Plumbing got there right away. He was very thorough in figuring out what the problem was. He also did a great job explaining the leak and what was needed to fix it. I really like this company!

Two days ago, on Monday morning, Our 14-year-old 75 gallon natural gas hot water heater (Rheem 42V75F) cracked. Because our go-to plumber has retired, I started googling for a new plumber and possible replacement water heater models.

Someone who we really trusted about these matters (ie. husband was an engineer for large skyscrapers in NYC) and who only hired reliable and knowledgeable professionals to work in their own home, recommended a firm called "Black Dog". I found other good-sounding firms in the area, but this tipped the scales for BD.

I'm very glad that I called Black Dog. I spoke to Richard, the owner of Black Dog. As requested, I texted him pictures of our broken unit, and he texted me back a price quote. The quote was great, and their replacement Rheem Professional 75G unit had better specs than my old unit (definitely better specs than the DIY Rheem models at HD). He said that he'd call me the next day around 8:30AM to confirm delivery and installation (includes removal of old unit).

The next day (Tuesday), he called at 8:30AM, and said that everything was a "go" and they'd arrive between 10 and 11AM. At 10:33AM I get a call that he and his crew were at my house. The installation was very well done. The new replacement Rheem Professional 75Gal unit was exactly as he said. It was delivered with all the documentation. The date of manufature stamped on it indicates that it left the factory 2 1/2 weeks ago -- ie. it's NEW, and wasn't lingering as old merchandise on some warehouse. The installation was very professional: the venting, copper piping, the proper grounding -- heck, even the copper-plated hanging straps looked great!

As for pricing, I'm not going to give my numbers, but they're competitive with all the decent quotes that I was given. Even competitive with the full cost quoted by Home Depot on a similar, but definitely less durable model. As a final advice: especially for critical jobs (replacing heating, boilers, commercial refrigeration, etc), get someone who is fully licensed. I checked and verified that Richard is 1. a licensed Master Plumber and 2. a licensed Master HVAC-R.

Great service

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. Some guy called Rick came to my house and told me I have a clogged line and it was a simple thing then turned around and ask me to tear walls down and that it would cost me 500 to 600 dollars for the work. When I questioned why he told me he wasn't interested in the work and hung up. Mind you I have been in contact with him since Monday. He first ask to tell my home owners to pay it and then saw I was asking too many questions and hung up on me. Hire any other plumber but these shifty thief.

NEVER Returns calls. Guess they don't need the work.
