I am suing Corinne Mullen for legal malpractice and I have filed a complaint with the NJ Bar against her. She literally worked for the other side and dismissed my defamation case without my knowledge or permission. After she dismissed it she never told me and acted like everything was still moving forward. It wasn't until I checked the court records myself that I learned of what she did. She then had a guy who is not even registered to practice law in NJ try and represent me, who turned out to only have had a law license in New Mexico for about a year. She should lose her law license. Beware. Corinne is a true snake.

In late February, I contacted the firm with details of a possible claim for defamation against a very well known public figure. Corrinne Mullen called and after asking a few questions, said she would send an invitation to a Zoom meeting the following week to evaluate the potential plaintiff. She gave a specific time frame; 10 a.m. to 12:30.
And that was the last we heard from her.
Evidently she is not interested in the case. Which is just as well. If she doesn’t have the courtesy to tell us she doesn’t want the matter, it tells is a lot about how the claim would be handled if she took it.

I contacted Corinne after being laid off from my job in September--I felt I was wrongly dismissed. After providing her with the documents and information she requested, Corinne and I spoke on the phone and arranged to meet at her office on September 18.

During the meeting she was very polite and spent a good amount of time discussing the case. She said she felt I had a strong case. Corinne was aware that I needed to sign a severance agreement by September 28 if we did not reach a settlement. She told me what she was going to do, write a strongly worded letter to my former employer and see if we can come to an agreement to increase my severance before the deadline. I agreed with the plan and left feeling very optimistic. Her assistant followed up later that day to request payment in full prior to the work being done. I made the payment by credit card that day.

And that’s pretty much where it fell apart. There was no follow up and multiple calls and texts were ignored. We spoke once during the week and she told me she called my former boss and his attorney (which was not what she said she was going to do when we met). When I did eventually reach Corinne to find out the result, it was the night before the signed severance agreement was due, she told me she called and spoke to my former employer and his attorney (which I already knew) and they pushed back. A letter was never written. No further action was taken after the phone calls. Basically, I paid for two phone calls.

During a follow up conversation Corinne said she would refund my payment. She did not do that and then proceeded to string me along with promises that she wanted to get me my files ‘as quickly as possible,’ that she would ask her ‘bookkeeper Diana to forward me the bill [sic],’ and if, ‘Diana approved she would issue’ [the refund]. None of this occurred. My guess is that Corinne dragged this out just long enough that I could no longer dispute the charge with my credit card company. Corinne stopped corresponding as of December 13th and blocked my phone number.

I have never met or worked with such a dishonest person. The way she handled this was insulting and appalling.

They made an intake appointment and to date I never received a call...
