Taqueria #3 La Escondida

I eat here fairly regular - couple times a month, breakfast or lunch. Always good food. You can get in and out quickly during lunch. On a somewhat related note, they have the best looking Latina waitresses around.

Clean, charming little place off the beaten path with great food and service. I had Huevos Ranchero and it was delicious…with homemade tortillas. Have been here several times when I’m in the area, will be back again.

This was my first time visiting Cafe Java. I was there to meet a friend. While waiting I ordered a cup of tea. For those who know me I am very picky about the kind of tea I drink. So the waitress was very kind and attentive to what I wanted. I guess while I was there I had over four different workers ask how was everything. I will be back.

This was my first visit and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. My friend Nancy invited me here because she loves their migas. She said I could try something else, but I wanted to try the migas plate and I am so very glad I did. It was quiet enough inside for us to talk shop as she loves to review she visits when she travels for work. I don't speak any Spanish but my friend Nancy is fluent in Spanish and ordered for us. But there are English speaking servers, so don't hesitate to come enjoy the Migas plate.

The food and service was fabulous! I hope this place stays there for a very long time! Very authentic food that I enjoyed a great deal! Both waitresses were very sweet and very helpful to me when I was ordering my food. I will come back again and again!

Great traditional homemade Mexican food. I’m a native Texan and grew up in South Texas so I know what I’m talking about. Also lots of food for the price. Definitely try it out.

They had construction going on so I didn't see the beautiful improvements yet to come. The food was delicious, the Horchata and refill was as expensive as my whole meal with my son's 6 tacos and it was regular Horchata, nothing special.

I've lived around the corner from this place ever since they opened, and have been there many many times, and only today realized that I have not been keeping up my reviews of such a wonderful little South Austin local gem as this restaurant is! The service is always provided by very caring and kind wait staff, and I believe, due to the quality of my food there, it is also prepared by people who are very caring and very proud of what they do! The prices are completely underwhelming, why they don't charge double I'll never know but I'm certainly not going to suggest it! but yeah, if you're in South Austin and just want to hang they don't serve alcohol, but they do have a good selection of soft drinks and again, the food and the service are out of this world!

OMG the breakfast taco flour tortilla were amazing! I am very picky but today just hungry while getting my car fixed I decided to stop for a bite! The food came out hot, tasty no need to season they did the work for you!

The salsa was fresh and AMAZING! Really good food! Oh and did I mention they have a drive thru..

I'm from Corpus Christi and my partner is from San Antonio so you know the Mexican food we eat is always good down south , this restaurant in Austin taste so so good and the customer service was really great. It was hard to find a place that had good food like our hometown in this city but this one was definitely the best.

This is the best Mexican place in town. I’ve tried everything in Austin and nothing comes close. Four different salsas and they don’t skimp or charge for extras. Staff is super friendly and the cooks kill it back there every time!

You simply cannot beat the price, the portion size, the quality, and the service. I eat breakfast here at least 3 times a week and lunch at least once. Bring your friends. Buy their meals. Where else can you big-shot it and still get change back from your $20?

Great table service. She remembered my custom order from last time. The other workers never do. Highly recommend coming here to eat with family or for a quick bite.
