Fleig's Cafe

Their soups are so comforting this time of year. I love to pair a bowl of soup with grilled cheese. Their burgers are pretty good, too.

Hiked a few miles at nearby Ferdinand State Forest, made a pit stop here on my way home.

Asked for the chili but was told they weren't making it that day so I was offered noodles instead. Excellent choice. Tasty, hot, served with crackers and a cold beer, perfect after a long walk. Friendly staff too. I look forward to my next visit.

My friend and former co-worker, Diane K. and I enjoyed a night out. Fleig's lady came to us as soon as we sat down and got our drink order. Our food came to us very quickly and was so very delicious! We will definitely go again! Prices were good, too.

Was back in Southern Indiana for a wedding and needed some dinner. Stopped by Fleig's and got some chicken tenders and German fries. And oh, those German fries! Reminded me of home cooking, tender potatoes and onions fried to perfection.

The chicken tenders seemed to be hand breaded and were juicy on the inside. A little too heavy on the breading for me, but most people would enjoy them that way.

Next time we're back in Ferdinand, I'll order their fried chicken, supposed to be pretty good.

I ordered chicken wings to go. The wings were prepared exactly the way I had asked. My order was ready when I arrived. They were absolutely delicious. Everyone was welcoming and courteous. Fleig’s is my new neighborhood favorite.

We've stopped here before when traveling and always had a good meal, so we decided to stop again as we were nearby. They have the best fried chicken meals of anyplace around. So we walked in and sat down at the last table available. Seems as though everybody in the area was hungry for Chicken at the same time. Ed came from behind the bar and asked us what we would like. We said fried chicken of course. He got a sad look on his face, apologized and said they were all out. And it was only 12:10. Said they served almost 100 orders, said he would be glad to fix us something else. While we were very disappointed, we decided to order alternatives. I ordered a double cheeseburger and buffalo fries. He brought it hot off the grill and it was absolutely delicious. My wife ordered the breaded chicken fillet sandwich and buffalo fries. Also delicious. The prices are outrageous and reasonable. We had a great meal for $10.00. If you travel anywhere close to Ferdinand make sure you stop in for a meal. They also have a full bar and beer by the case, also at outrageous prices. You can't go wrong stopping here.

Hole in the wall locally owned restaurant. Fried chicken is very good specially on Thursdays!!! Homefries are a must!

Our family (2 adults and 3 children) went for breakfast, I was a little skeptical at first. When the food came I was blown away!! Best breakfast sandwich I've EVER had. The sausage was larger then the bread! The kids loved it as well. I definitely recommend this place.

Stopped by during our trip in the area. Very reasonably priced food and a good atmosphere. Had a delicious pork tenderloin with fries and their chicken with gravy on noodles.

Great little spot in town. Old school cafe. Great burger for only $2.75. Would definitely come back. Reasonable prices.

Great food, great service, and great atmosphere. I got a bacon cheese burger and cheese sticks for an appetizer. The burger was cooked and season great. The owner asked us if we were cold in the dining area since me and my friends were the only ones in the dining room. The owner was very friendly and gave us an heads up on what he was out on (We did come here late at night). If you are ever in the area or from out of state this is a must come place.

Had the stake burger with fried mushrooms. Fantastic, was a awesome environment. I swear it felt like a movie when you walk in an everyone looks, we were out of town so when no one reconized us it was a little ominous but the environment lightened an was very inviting. We ordered our food to go an because we were having a good time talking when it was done we didnt even realize he had told us i got your food on the warmer for you when your ready. Over awesome experience.

Pleasant surprise! Menu was limited for lunch because the dining room is closed but there is seating at tables in the bar. The breaded chicken was excellent and my aunt was very impressed with the steak burger.

Saturday morning is biscuits and gravy. 2 biscuits covered in gravy with a huge pile of thick cut bacon. Dinner and certain days the lunch special is fried chicken. Chicken is delicious! We came in at 4pm last Saturday not knowing the cooks come in at 5pm. I'm guessing it was the owner...she said she would go ahead and make us chicken herself. Wow. That was soo nice. It was great

Food was on point service was perfect good little place to get a bite and a good drink after a long day and it was cheep will definitely go back it is places like this that this world needs more of

Let me start in a positive way. It is a little whole in the wall. I just really enjoy them . The hospitality was the greatest. The biscuits and gravy were wonderful. All the food was down to earth home cooking like. The building will take you a little back in time. And the prices were reasonably. We will go again.
