Love this place. Dr. Epler and his staff are great. They address your concerns without trying to oversell or upsell other shots, medicines, or products. Prices are reasonable and the first thing they ask you isn't "are you a new customer" in order to schedule you weeks out--call most local vets and it's literally the first thing they ask. No fancy gadgets that hike up customer prices, just good quality animal care and customer service. They deserve 10 stars.

We started coming here during covid when we got our puppy as our usual vet wasn't taking new patients at the time. They have been wonderful. Yes Dr. Epler can come over very strong. But I wouldn't in anyway say it's rude. He's very honest on what is going on with your animal or what you should be doing. He doesn't cut corners to make you feel good or to sugar coat anything. To me that really shows that he cares. Now that things have opened up more we have the option to transfer all of our one dogs information to our main vet. But we decided to leave our one dog here as he knows them and it's been a great experience.

The staff provides a combination of a deep compassionate care and patience for animals along with a direct and straightforward answer to all of your questions. This, combined with remarkably good prices for excellent caretaking of your pet, makes this the absolute best veterinarian option in the area. I am only one person, and there are many other opinions out there, but mine comes from multiple personal experiences. I urge you to give them a shot for yourself so you can leave your own wonderful review to share with others.

I've had 5 cats and two dogs use this clinic and I have always been pleased with the staff. It's usually relatively quick to get an appointment and the prices for services are very competitive. I have a GSD puppy that got her first shots there and I will be using this clinic for the entirety that I am blessed with her in my life.

The best vet. and staff you could find anywhere! Dr. Epler is a genius with animals- he knows everything and is very affordable. He saved our collie mix years ago who had heart worms when we got her. He has treated our terrier for her skin issues yearly and recently performed a hernia surgery without any problems. I was worried she had a tumor and he just felt under her tummy and knew right away it was a hernia and was right. She was back to normal after just a week! He doesn't push a lot of tests on you like other offices I've been to. He explains everything thoroughly to you and is patient with any questions you may have. You can tell that he became a vet because he loves animals. I drive 45 minutes to his office now and will continue to take my animals to him even after I move. I would drive hours to stay with someone I trust :)

Very grateful for them. They did amazing getting Coco back to health after a skin infection. Very thankful for them.

Its not hard for it to seem as if staff are rude but they aren't. I think it's just a matter of taste. Do you plan on hanging out at the club later with your vet or do you want you pet given good care? Not everyone needs to be our buddy. They at very no nonsense and to the point. Thats a valuable trait in any medical profesion

Got my dog in to take a look at a squinty, uncomfortable eye right away. Doc was very no-nonsense and straight to the point. I walked away with a (timid) animal that wasn't quaking in horror, a bit of medicine, and some good insight on what to look out for to prevent things from getting worse. All-in-all, good experience. Really set my mind at ease

Great Vet .Great Staff. We have used Dr.Epler 30+ Years. He does have a No Nonsense Approach. But He tells You like it is. I won't trust My Pets to Anyone else.

Nice Vet office in Shelbyville IN. Walked in to get a few months supply of advantage Flea & Tick drops for Scarlet. Clean office and friendly reception. Will schedule for shots and possible allergies.

Dr. Epler and staff are professional and caring. They provide a much-needed service for the community with reasonable fees. I don't trust my pet care to anyone else.

I have been a client for almost 25 years. Dr. Epler and Sandy and the staff have always been informative and caring. I have called them in the middle of the night for emergencies and Dr. Epler has driven in and met me at the clinic SEVERAL times! He has given the best of care to my pets and has always kept me informed on all health issues. Sometimes the diagnosis not what I wanted to hear. We all want our pets to live forever and we never want to lose them. When euthanasia was necessary it was done with respect and kindness and no pain. Jeff saved one of my cats when another vet practice had almost killed him! In my opinion if you want the best care for your pets Shelbyville Animal Clinic is the ONLY place to go! They treat my pets with the same care as they treat their pets. I usually don't comment on the web. However when I read the other reviews I was appalled! I have encountered too many people who don't want to take the time and energy and resources necessary to care for their four legged friends. They often neglect an animal until it is too late and then they blame the vet for a bad outcome! Dr. Epler tells the truth and some people don't want to hear it. My pets (my friends) will continue to go to Dr. Epler and this clinic. This is where they get the care and comfort they deserve. I am a VERY HAPPY CLIENT of almost a quarter century! If you truly care about your pet (your friend) then THIS is the clinic you want.

This is by far the best vet I've ever taken a pet to the staff is kind and respectful it is an all around great place to to bring your pet

Dr. Epler is great vet. He is old school veterinarian and doesn't have a state of the art facility. He is straight forward.

Dr Eppler is great with my boys. Kalynn and Courtney are the BEST! They go above and beyond what I expected!
