Located down near the grain mill and along the railroad track you will find this simple cafe offering wholesome items that make your body smile. They offer a decent espresso/coffee/tea bar and then a handful of their signature baked in-house items until sold out each day. Their vegan biscuits and gravy always satisfy, and their scones are some of the best (and freshest) in town.

At this time (feb'24), indoor dining is still a casualty of the pandemic and there are no indications that it will return in the foreseeable future. Limited covered outdoor seating is available along the sidewalk.

The hunt for the best mocha in Eugene continues. This time I tried the mocha from where I get my coffee beans, wandering goat. Iced, 8oz, with oat milk. The first sip was a bit rich on the chocolate (still stuck to the side of the glass) but by the second one and with a stir, a more full, silky flavor that I was hoping for came in. On the whole, it was just too heavy on chocolate for me still for me to be crazy about it. Of course I prefer my chocolate just a tad light on my mochas, so for someone else this might be their dream cup!

Four stars for the mocha, five stars for the coffee beans at this place

Wandering Goat is our go to coffee shop in Eugene!
We've been all around this town looking for that cozy little place we can call our home away from home.
These guys have done it well.
Ample space for seating inside and outside, weather permitting.
Artwork drapes the walls all around, most pieces for sale.
Other artistic pieces decorate the rest, from t-shirts, signs to a most wonderful goat head.
A spacious barista bar sits beyond the counter.
The pastry case is filled with delicious all vegan treats.
Up beat and smiling faces greet you as you step up to place your order.
The drinks are quality, and the treats are delectable.
As you sit and fill your belly, they have gobbles of games for you to delve into and watch the night disappear.
We recommend this place ten times over and hope you go visit this curious little coffee shop when you get the chance!

I can't believe I have lived in Eugene for 19 months and just visited this place for the first time. The baristas were super friendly, the latte was really tasty and the vegan and gluten free peanut butter bar pushed me over the edge. The inside has a lot of room to sit and there are few outdoor tables and two outdoor picnic tables to enjoy the weather when it is nice outside. Although this was my first time here I will definitely not be my last time.

Excellent coffee and plant based baked goods! I recommend an americano to get the pure flavor of their roasts!

WANDER in to the Wandering Goat! Some of the best coffee I've ever had in decades of drinking the stuff. Organic makes the difference. Fantastic foam on the latte.

This is my first time in Eugene and Wandering Goat was in walking distance, so I decided to give it a go. I really liked the funky eclectic vibe of the place. I ordered an espresso and a spicy cheese bagel. Both were delicious. There is plenty of tables and chairs to sit and chill at, so I was able to get my work done. The service was good and I enjoyed my visit.

Had the biscuits and gravy. Real good mushroom gravy. Turnover was great. Nice and crisp. Over all really good price and good food.

Wandering Goat is our favorite place to get coffee. The atmosphere and customers are a bit funky. Their coffee is excellent, but they make their coffee drinks strong. Small drinks have two shots and large ones have four,, so be prepared for the buzz. This day we were after a pound of Chupacabara Espresso Roast and some lattes. My wife decided two shots was too much so she tried their Chai Tea Latte and found it nothing special. I had a quad shot large latte and it was smooth and good. We have not tried any of their goodies, which all seem to be vegan.

I was raised at the Wandering Goat.

On rainy Tuesday mornings when I was just a lad, my dad would drive here and sit for hours in the snug, dim little cafe drinking cappuccinos and reading, leaving me to play chess with the older locals and buying me a hot chocolate. He instilled me with the same love of craft coffee and a fanatical devotion to the art of the bean.

Over ten years later, the Goat still wears the crown. Sam has each different blend and roast dialed in with such precision and care that you can taste the regional notes of blueberry and orange peel in your espresso, and each barista has been trained so well that you don’t ever have to worry about inconsistency of quality.

The exclusively window-based service is, of course, the elephant in the room— I mean come on, we all want the tasting room back! But you really can’t blame them for taking precautions during their reopening, and while I miss being able to walk in and take my coat off, I understand the heart behind the window service, and I hope that they eventually feel comfortable reopening the cafe. If you haven’t had an espresso from this Whit classic, you’re missing out.

And whether you’ve lived in Eugene for a while, your whole life, or you’re just passing through, you’d be a fool not to follow the goat.

A great place to snag a coffee on the go. Outdoor seating only provides a nice option if you wanna hang and do some writing, reading, art, etc. The coffee is quite tasty! 😋

My absolute favorite coffee in eugene or probably anywhere. I love the vegan pastries as well. My only complaint is I miss the old hours. I know covid caused a lot of small businesses to have to adapt and scale down but as an insomniac who doesn't wake up early I wish they would have extended hours at least on the weekends. I'm not asking for their old hours back because I know staying open til 11pm is asking a lot but maybe if they could be open til 3 or 4? Something reasonable like that would be great. I have come across some slightly off customer service in the past but it never effected the quality of my coffee or wait time so it didn't usually bother me I just took it as part of the unique off-beat wandering goat experience. Though the personalities of each barista can be a mixed bag most of the Baristas were quite amiable and friendly or at least swift and professional (which at the end of the day is all I can really ask). Tldr: I love wandering goat coffee.

A cool and quirky coffee shop, they brew the house coffee fresh every 20 minutes, offer all sorts of specialty coffee beverages, and are locally well known for their peanut butter bars. They also offer bottled beers and beer on tap!

Coolest and friendliest staff I know. Tried to stop drinking coffee but I missed them too much and needed an excuse to come back. Now I’m an addict but it’s all worth it!!
Really great coffee and you can’t forget their vegan biscuits and gravy. I also enjoy their branding and merch. Way to go, goats. Y’all are slaying the scene. <3

My partner and I have traveled across the country sampling biscuits and gravy along the way. One of our top ranked is the Wandering Goat, his old local cafe that he would always go to. Love that it is also vegan, as we are plant based and love to avoid dairy if possible. Would eat it on a regular basis if we were living more near now!

I enjoyed and bought their coffee from Community Cup coffee. This was the coffee roastery I am seeking! I tasted their espresso blen using my moka pot at my home, and it has really complex aroma and was very juicy. I really like their coffee, and in my opinion, the best roastery in the town.

Thanks for nice coffee!

House roasted beans are the best in Eugene. Although I'm sad they've closed the indoor seating their coffee is as good as ever. I love their borgias and highly recommend a spicy mocha, but for the purists they offer single origin pourovers, cold brews, and good old fashioned drip.

Plenty of bike parking outside & outside tables in the heart of the Whit. Perfect music volume to enjoy a latte, read and the Sunday NYTs. The spicey-cheese bagel is a hit.

I got a Brown Sugar Latte at this coffee shop like 3 WEEKS AGO, maybe longer than that even, and I’m STILL thinking about how delicious it was. Honestly the best coffee drink I’ve ever had. 🤷🏻‍♀
