Bar Rio

Went for happy hour just after 3. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. I had a jalapeño margarita and husband had a tamarind sour. Both were happy hour drinks and delicious. For snacks, we had the chips salsa and guacamole as well as the fried cauliflower. All excellent and fresh. This will be on our regular rotation for sure.

Bar Rio is my new favorite spot in town! All the things that were loved from the old Barrio, but with a new elevated twist. The tapas menu is perfect for a few bites on a date night or even to share a bunch with a group. The staff is super welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu and makes you feel at home. You can tell there’s a lot of love and care being put into every cocktail and dish that’s being served. There’s a nice outdoor lounge out back that’s perfect on a sunny day or even to cool down in the evening. The interior is beautifully curated and compliments the whole vibe of the place. I’m excited to have a new cocktail bar in Bend!

Excellent bar! Love the atmosphere, the bartender, Will, is cool and fun and knows what he's doing. The food and drinks are amazing! Didn't have a single drink disappoint!

Wow this place is amazing! The food and cocktails were delightful. We got the jibaritos, ceviche, shrimp paella, and cheesecake. Everything was top notch! Plus, the patio is a great vibe on a summer day.

This spot was amazing. First off, the pineapple mezcal margarita is a must. We had a four dishes between two of us, and it was a perfect amount. I’m normally not a paella person, but we got the veg paella and loved it! The small size was still pretty generous. The fried cauliflower may have been my favorite—didn’t even manage to snap a pic of it because we quickly devoured it. It was a bit of a wait to get in on a Thursday night, but they text you when your table is ready, so you can easily go grab a beer at a spot nearby! Can’t wait to get back here.

Amazing Paella!! This place was fantastic. The service was okay but the food more than made up for it. I had the roasted broccolini that was on special and it was so good. The combination of flavors with the house made aioli and salsa was so good. The combination of the plantain chips made for a great dish.

My main was their seafood paella. I was craving a good dish of paella and there’s did not disappoint. I enjoyed this dish a lot. There was superb flavor and texture. The fish was cooked to perfection.

This place was super easy to get to and thankfully they let me grab a table 5 minutes before closing. Next time I am in Bend I will be back.

Worth driving to bend to eat here.

Okay, I'd first off say im not a fan of latin foods. I wasn't excited to come here but our party had a individual with celiac and this was our only option. The saff was super friendly and professional. My mask broke and he provided me with a new kn95 one. The setting for the place is cute and the music selection was older songs with some reggae and ska. Ordered Paella and a bunch of other things. The ingredients were fresh and succulent. The salmon were thick cut ~1in and not those tiny filets and cooked to perfection with an amazing sear. The rock fish was even better. The paella 🥘 reminded me of the ones in Spain. The flavors were authentic and just enough crisp with out getting stuck in your teeth. I normally don't like calamari but theirs was so soft and tender. Their cauliflower bowl was super good and the sweetness was just right. I had an issue with one of my dishes and the saff handled it very well. Their homemade sodas were refreshing and I think they were great. I would say that they are most definitely not on the sweeter side. Everyone on my table said it was bitter. I personally wouldn't change it but maybe let the customers know or have an option for added sweetness.

Overall, bravo! In my opinion, of the best latin restaurants in the state of Oregon and the prices were great. If I was not 100 miles away I'd be eating here weekly. All I know is everytime im in bend, ill be coming here. Or ill be coming to bend just to eat here. Finally, the bathroom door has a foot opener so the staff dont touch the door after washing their hands +1.

So excited the new Bar Rio is finally open!! I was thrilled to see paella still on the menu. It was even more delicious than I remembered. The cocktails are also amazing. The spicy chavurah and the frozen limoncillo were spot on. The interior decor is BEAUTIFUL!!! Live edge wood bar, exotic tiles, and warm lighting are a few highlights. I highly recommend stopping by for some cocktails and tapas.

Had such a delicious dinner here the other day. We started with a Jalepeño Cilantro Margarita Pitcher and Queso Fundido with Street Corn. For the main we shared Beef Lengua and Chicken Tinga Tacos (3total) and the House Paella. It was so amazing. I do think the chicken in the House Paella was pretty gross. We picked it all out. But the rest of it was perfect. It was super delicious otherwise.

Absolutely love! Made it during happy hour. Tapas selection is great. Tried brussel sprouts with bacon and blue cheese. Also the Cuban sliders. The paella was delicious!

Absolutely one of the best Happy Hours in Downtown Bend! The Paella is scrumptious and quite sizable for the Happy Hour $12 price. Service was excellent. Bartenders were chatty and made delicious margaritas. We will go back! This is now one of our top favorites.

Delicious Spanish-inspired food with vegan options. Though the vegan options aren't clearly marked, the servers are very helpful in guiding you to the appropriate options.

We had the vegetable paella, which was absolutely fantastic--and I lived in Spain for 3 months, so I know what paella should be. We would definitely come back.

NOTE: If you come in a Friday or Saturday night, expect a wait. The place was packed and we had a 40-minute wait for our table. They do take your phone number to text you, so you can leave and walk around

Great paella and ceviche. I mistook it for a similarly named local place Barrio and was hoping for street tacos.

Amazing food! We really enjoyed the atmosphere, drinks and service. We had a the Cuban sliders, lamb sausage dish and the chicken schwarma. We also tried three cocktails and we're impressed with all three. All out plates were almost empty and if they weren't closing so soon we would have had more!

Bar Rio became a must visit for us in Bend. Crafty cocktails, responsive service, and an upbeat ambience. I love this place.

Super good food and amazing drinks. Very expensive but at least everything is great!
