Wanderlust Tours

I live in Bend and have taken a few tours with Wanderlust; each one has been amazing.!! The cave tours are something you cannot do on your own as many of them are closed due to misuse by the general public.

Wanderlust takes the upmost pride in sharing the best of Central Oregon with locals and visitors. Their guides are always friendly and knowledgeable, sharing a wealth of information.

Our guide for the cave tour was Jared. He did a great job of making us feel welcome. He drove safely, narrated the journey, answered a plethora of questions and gave advice on what else people could do on their visit (restaurants and cool things to check out).

If you are visiting or a local, I highly recommend you add a tour with Wanderlust to your calendar!

Our tours with Wanderlust were incredible and made for an amazing time in Central Oregon. We went hiking, caving, and snowshoeing, and we even had a backcountry chef prepare us a gourmet lunch at the trailhead. An unforgettable experience!

We did the cave and stargazing tour with Abby on 5/17/24, and it was awesome. Abby is fantastic; personable, friendly, great sense of humor, and very knowledgeable. The tour was longer than we had originally expected but was well worth it as we learned a lot about how the lava tubes are formed, and how Oregon’s landscape was formed and has evolved due to volcanoes. Much more exciting than just walking through a lava tube by yourself and not understanding or appreciating what you’re actually looking at. We thoroughly enjoyed the cave, the star gazing & the constellation education. For those looking at this option, I would recommend waiting for a night where the moon isn’t very bright- you’ll get even more out of the stargazing portion, for sure; maybe even see the Milky Way galaxy! Lots of fun either way though. Big thanks to Abby for an awesome, fun-filled adventure, and for all the local recommendations for our 48-hour visit!

We went on the canoe and beer tasting tour with Charlie and to say our group of 7 had a great time is an understatement!! Charlie was great, very professional and super friendly! We had beautiful views and an enjoyable beer tasting at a nice spot where we took a break from paddling. We highly recommend this tour and this tour company, setting it up/scheduling was easy and we felt it was well worth the cost! We'll be back for another tour with Wanderlust if we are ever in the area! Thanks again from Dee and the group of 7 cousins! :)

I took a snowshoeing twilight tour on Mt. Bachelor and it was great! Our guides Charlie & Jose were fantastic. Fun, engaging & knowledgeable. I’d definitely recommend a tour here.

This was a fun experience with a great group. Wanderlust tour guides did a great job of providing education about our special Central Oregon biomes on the van ride to the foraging location. Once we arrived, our chef/master forager Jackson from Luckey’s Woodsman gave us tips on foraging for morel mushrooms. We happily wandered in the woods finding morels and green tips before gathering at the big table for a foraged dinner. The four course dinner was unique and wonderfully delicious. Jackson highlighted foraged ingredients in savory and sweet combinations. And we so enjoyed the diverse and interesting company in the group. When this event happens again, we will be there!

Our kayaking tour with Chris was amazing! He was very personable and engaging. He gave just the right amount of information when needed and also afforded us quiet moments to take in the scenery. The experience with Wanderlust Tour was great from the moment we walked in and were greated with smiles to when we left with "thank you's" and waves. I highly recommend this tour if you're in Bend. Best part of the day was seeing two bald eagles!

Amazing experience! Charlie was a super fun and knowledgeable guide. The lava tube cave tour was awesome. Filled with fun rock scrambling, cave coral, and belly crawling through smaller passages over ancient volcanic ash 😄 Was the perfect moderate caving adventure for us who had never gone before. Felt like we experienced a whole different world beneath our feet! Plus we had time to go for a short hike after and get an incredibly beautiful view of the peaks and buttes, learned about the local flora, fauna and formation of the land.

Great day yesterday with Ali and Jared. Did the kayak at Sparks Lake in the afternoon and went over to Paulina Lake for the canoe in the evening. Absolutely fantastic experiences. Ali was super knowledgeable about the area, formations, and overall history of the region. Made my first trip to Oregon a memorable one!

Our group of 5 went on Wanderlust's Moonlight Canoe tour and absolutely loved it. Only one of us was an experienced paddler, but everyone felt safe and had a great time. Our guide Davis was extremely capable and knowledgeable, and charming as can be. We all couldn't stop talking about how gorgeous and peaceful and fun this outing was for the entire rest of the trip. Highly recommend.

Had a wonderful lava tube cave tour yesterday with Jose as our guide. Great combination of information and adventure! We appreciate Wanderlust accommodating our schedule so we could have this experience. Not sure if I am spelling her name correctly, but Jeanne was very helpful getting us set up and had great advice for local hikes the day before our tour. This tour will be a highlight of our trip.

Book your Wanderlust tour ASAP! I have gone on many, many types of outdoor excursions and tours with many different outfitters around the world, and this was hands down the most impressive. We did the Starlight Canoe tour, which was outstanding. The tour was perfect and the scenery gorgeous. What knocked the whole thing out of the park though was our tour guide, Erika. She was outstanding in every way. She was clearly very knowledgeable about the area, the history, the land, the geology, you-name-it. She was not just reciting a canned tour speech, but speaking from her own knowledge and even her heart. She had a distinct love and respect for the land that was remarkable. She was humble and kind and went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a great time. I took home so much more from this tour than a great time. I hope we make it back to Bend again one day to do another adventure with Wanderlust!

This experience was amazing. I did the starlight canoe experience and I have not done something this beautiful in such a long time. I am not sure how I’ll top this experience. Please go with them and book your tours with them if on bend. They really take care of you. Is not just the activity, but they also teach you a lot about the history around bend and plus extra amenities ❤

Jared was fabulous on our kayak tour. It's hard to find activities that are good for everyone in our family from ages 7 to 70. Wanderlust tours was so helpful and accommodating. Booking was super easy. Everyone was friendly and professional. Driver/tour guide was on time with all the correct equipment. Online waivers and forms was super easy to navigate and complete. So many of these things should be givens, but it's the little touches that sets Wanderlust tours apart.

What a great first-time experience at Hosmer Lake with Wanderlust Tours. Our guide, Katie, was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and shared some of her favorite places to check out around Bend. We took the kayak tour during the afternoon, escaping the mid-90’s heat and enjoying low 80’s temps, making it a comfortable outing on the water. Kayaking was easy enough with partner help but sometimes our kids took breaks, making for a little workout especially when paddling against the wind. Beautiful views all around and neat to see and hear the wildlife in their natural habitat. We are so happy we went and visited this local gem. Thank you Wanderlust Tours for the experience.

This was my second snowshoe tour with Wanderlust and I was as impressed as the first time. Tour guides (last time we toured with Courtney and this time with Colton) are so personable, kind, informative, interesting, funny and this time we took our 8 year old daughter. Colton was so engaging with her and she had the best time. When asked, she rated her day 10 out of 10! We couldn't agree more. Such a great company committed to helping others enjoy the outdoors! A++

My boyfriend and I went for the NYE snowshoeing experience. It was fantastic! it was at Mt Bachelor. In smaller groups like 10 or so people. The guide was awesome. He showed us the stars, pointed out animal tracks and made sure everyone kept pace. It was a beautiful night. love the bon-fire, the hot chocolate (spiked if you wanted), and cheers at midnight w/ ETOH or not. Also a tasty treat from Sparrow Bakery. You can also rent pants if you don't own any. Highly recommend. It is a little more expensive but it was worth it! glad we went.

We lucked out and got a snowy day at Smith Rock for our hiking tour, and Jared led our group through some gorgeous areas in the park! While we hadn’t been expecting snow, it added a magical twist to our adventure.

My husband and I were visiting Bend from Tennessee and spent a month hiking and biking in this beautiful part of the country. Wanderlust’s Starlight Canoe Tour was definitely a highlight of our trip! Our tour group consisted of the two of us, another couple from England, and our tour guide, Erika. We arrived at sunset and paddled all around Homer Lake as the stars began to appear. Erika shared so much knowledge of the night sky and entertaining stories about the constellations. The views were spectacular! We ended the evening with hot cocoa and baked treats from Sparrow Bakery. This was a fantastic tour!

My wife and I signed up for the evening canoe tour for our honeymoon. We and 3 others including our guide set out to Paulina lake at 7pm. Along the way our guide shared some cool historical trivia about Bend, and Mount Bachelor. When we arrived the sun was just setting, giving the lake and surrounding areas a peaceful glow. We got into our canoes and paddled across the lake. After the sun went down, the entire sky was alight with stars and the Milky Way Galaxy was in full view. When we made it across the lake, we were able to dip our feet in some small hot springs while we sipped on hot cocoa and talked about the constellations and some fun facts about the surrounding mountain ranges, as well as some of the local rock formations. We then made our way back to the dock, where we loaded up and headed back to Bend. Our tour guide was informative, helpful, professional, but also very laid back. It felt as if we were going with someone we've known for awhile which gave the experience a very personable feel. We highly recommend this if you're looking for something different in the great central Oregon outdoors!
