Steak 'n Shake

Super nice gentleman cooking and running the front (10/29/22 6.30pm). Other staff were friendly as well.
My burger had a special request, which was done. ...burger and fries served up hot and my shake was great as well. No complaints from this corner..
**clean atmosphere as well.
**Shout-out to the cook, he rolls smooth, it's appreciated.

Doubke steak burger was great. Chocolate chip cookie dough shake was amazing. A+ job.

We got the Reese's Chocolate and Peanut Butter Milkshakes for 3.89 each. They were so good. Very favorful.. I give this place a 5 star. Super fast service. Thank you. I sure will be back. A+++ The have 1/2 price Happy Hour Drinks between 2 and 5 Monday thru Fridays.

This Steak and Shake location has stepped up its game! We have gotten food there fairly often throughout the years. Service and food has been all over the place. Tonight though, everything was exceptional. Good going and thumbs up to the staff there! Our pickup order was even in a sealed bag and the contents stayed warm until we got home.

I can't speak for all of the previous poor reviews, but our experience was great. We ordered ahead through Google Maps, went to the store and ate it there. The food was freshly cooked and came out just after we checked in. The employees were super friendly and accommodating. We stayed to eat and didn't have any issues. The location was very clean, too. In fact, employees were wiping down EVERYTHING while we were there.

I liked it here today. It wasn't too busy. The food was delicious.💚

Been to alot of steak and shakes. By far the best I've been to. Food is always amazing.

They were great! The credit card system was down, and the staff handled the stress from that like champs! Our food was excellent, and so were the milkshakes! Keep up the great work!

I want to commend the manager for maintaining professionalism with arguably the nastiest old man I've seen (and I've worked retail and service for years). The guy ordered the wrong thing and went off on the manager, cussing him out, name calling, told him he hopes he burns in hell, etc etc. Our food came quickly and correctly, and it tasted great. Haven't been to an S&S in years. The staff was all kind to that idiot. I respect it. Will come back if I'm in the area again.

The service & food was fantastic. I even had fun taking a photo 📸 outside.

It's been a while since I had steak and shake but on this day the food was very good and a shout to the nice friendly lady who worked the drive thru.

This was my son's first time having it and he loved it. Too bad we don't have any by us. Great experience for him and the staff was great and very friendly. Service was amazing. I've always had great experiences with this franchise. Thank you so much for making this a great experience for my son

When I first pulled up to the drive thru I was asked by the employee"what can I make fresh for you"? I was happy that my food I ordered was going to be fresh and hot. Food was prepared exactly how I wanted it. I enjoyed it very much. Most likely when I want some food from fast food place I will be going to Steak N Shake 💖

I'm working on a house on simonton lake. I drive thru at least one time a week. Same friendly lady at the window. Always fresh and hot.

We stop in pretty much every sunday for lunch the crew is awesome and the food is always fresh to order. Steak n shake corp offices you guys need to add a small kid option for a cone or small side dish of the soft serve thats used for the shakes. My 8 year old does the shakes just fine but my 11 month old dont quite need that much but when everyone else gets some dessert he wants some too. I would gladly pay a couple bucks to get a cone or small side bowl with the soft serve for him vs the $4 for a shake that he wont eat but even probably half of. I would almost bet there are other families out there that would do the same. The shakes are a lot for a young toddler.

Got here at 10am and had the greatest experience I’ve had at a Steak ‘n Shake since I last ran the drive thru in Dunlap dude sounded like a whole announcer he deserves a job on the radio God I Love Steve such a nice man He made my time in the drive thru so memorable. If I had kids I know he would have put a smile on the face. I Will Never EVER forget this Thank You STEVE 🥰

The waiter we had,Brian was very good. However the kitchen was obviously lagging and I felt sorry for the wait staff being on the "front line". Complaints heard from some customers,one table walked and another seemed like just trying to get free food even thought the lady in charge offered free shakes. My star rating is for our experience only which reflects our server and his calmness in chaos.

Place was super busy, they also seemed short-staffed. The employees remained upbeat and calm, even under tough circumstances. Food took a little while to get to us and I stood in line 10 minutes just to pay the check, but I still think that the service and food were worth the wait.

Drive through never disappoints. My food is always piping hot and delicious.

A must stop everytime we pass through Elkhart.
