César E. Chávez Elementary School

This school is new and reflects that fact in its design: it's airy, full of windows, and just nice and shiny in general. Since most of the poorer neighborhood goes to this school, they provide free breakfast for everyone which is really nice. The teachers are also nice and encouraging!

I'm a student there, and I'm in ms. Lauri rocwoods class, my friends are Auto, Madi. They are really nice! So is the teacher! I m i n 3 r d gr ade .

This school uses the word 'diversity'; yet it has teachers who are racist or culturally incompetent. They target, wrongfully judge & bully low - income single parents. If you don't look like a "soccer mom\dad" & your kids don't look like they just came from a reform school, you will not get treated equqlly. If your of a noticeable faith or culture; if you have a spouse of a 'brown' culture; if you have brown or mixed kids, you will be stereotypically & ignorantly judged & your kids will be unfairly targeted, written up & given unjust consequences. They have officers question your kids & never warn/inform you. They treat you like: if you or your spouse ain't white, you both ain't right.They are the Beverly Hills Hotel & your motel 0. The school will always be willing to meet with & converse on a more intimate level in line with your kids academics (such as the parent teacher meetings)with the 'white' looking parent by-far more-so than having to have been stuck with the parent that the principal\teachers are more "comfertable" with. Many believe that this school uses the word 'diversity' for funding or for recognition, because of the ratio of cultural ignorance they are hiring into this school. They talk to you like they have the right to educate you on -what they perceive to be as- your 'lack' of parenting skills. They take it upon themselves to "teach" YOU how to parent your kids in "White America"/the White American society. They see a couple or a person of color & assume that that couple's partner or the cultured people are like the "poor underpriviladged" or the foriegner who needs signlanguage, as they ask them if they understand\comprehend what they are 'telling' them. Yes, the darker your kid (s) are, the more likely it will be that the staff will talk to your kid (s) as if they have a cognitive delay.They treat low income & cultured parents like they can't parent their kids correctly & they talk to these parents as if they are uneducated\illknowledgable. Many parents have pulled/transfered their kids from this school. This school & many like it, must come to understand that this planet has no need for bigotry, bias, racism; nor discrimination. Racist & discriminating teachers need to go teach where there are only white people in school attendance if "comfort" is what they seek. But the reality is that humans of ALL cultures are natural nomads\ migrators. America had "white" , Asian, Jewish & East Indian slaves too (shackles & all). America has always been & will always be culturally diverse & well seasoned. Parents: Document all your dealings with this school. Advocate for your kids. Form public school children's parental support groups. Form cultural componency workshops & request the district or the DOE to mandate our educators to attend those woorkshops. Because there are many single parents (regardless of income) who are respectful, decent hard working people who contribute positively to our community. Those parents deserve to be treated with equality; dignity & respect. Humans walk upright = "Humans are not meant to desolve, humans are created to evolve". Be Peace & Be Light.
