Tong King is amazing. Went there to place a takeout order for lunch. The new owners of the restaurant are so kind and welcoming. They recently celebrated their first year. I'm so glad I stopped by - the Tonkotsu Ramen, fried dumplings, and milk tea I ordered were delicious. Looking forward to having more meals there in the future. Daily deal - on each day, they have a lunch entree that is $10.00 - very affordable with good portions. I felt so lucky that the Tonkotsu Ramen happened to be featured today, and it was $10.00. Our first time trying Tong King Garden and it was an amazing experience! This place is a GEM. We ordered BBQ pork, rangoons, fried rice and the beef belly bento. Everything was so delicious and fresh. The service was excellent, really kind and attentive. A new favorite.

Great food! Great owner! And a great experience. My boyfriend and I walked here one day when we lived down the street and it was amazing. He ordered fried rice and I had ramen. We thing of here whenever we feel like eating out.

Don't let the rating fool you. The low rating came about from the previous owners. The new owners? They know how to make some baller food. 👌🏻
I had the cold noodle special with BBQ pork. The perfect dish to get in this hot weather! Highly recommend this dish, as well as the rest of their food! Reasonable prices (my dish was $14) and lovely portions with tons of delicious ingredients!

It was a great experience eating there, and I was surprised why they got low rate. I asked the manager and knew that they already changed the boss. They are a completely new restaurant now, just haven't changed the name. The teriyaki chicken is very classic, and the ramen is my favorite. The environment is clean and nice. They also have some dishes not on the menu, feel free to ask them and do some DIY!

This is maybe the best Asian restaurant in Salem. Their portions are great, and the owners are extremely personable. The food is delicious, and never leaves you feeling heavy. My wife and I go here all the time and grab their daily specials, but there are many other great things in the menu! I highly recommend this little know spot in Salem. Give it a shot; you won’t be disappointed.

It’s been nearly 30 years since I last ate at Tong King Garden on 12th Street. I heard that they just got a new owner and new menu so we stopped in for a little birthday celebration. Both the noodle soup and bento were full of flavors and fair priced. The restaurant is fresh and clean inside and the owner served our dishes with great smiles. It made my birthday boy super happy. We will definitely be back.

Adore the aesthetic and atmosphere of the restaurant, very calm and quite, welcoming and overall just serene.
Service is proper, never takes to long, respectful and kind. I love the two workers and they're both insanely sweet.
Super cheap and affordable but the food is amazing, never have any issues at all, ever.
Over all adorable thing place and it's a go to restaurant. No issues.

Good prices and good food! I liked the Chinese cuisine they had before, but the new Japanese menu is also great! I had the pork ramen and it was a massive bowl with way more than I could eat in a sitting. Even the to go boxes are convenient; they'll separate out your noodles from the broth so they don't get gross.

Update: had the cold ramen special with BBQ pork, it was phenomenal! Highly recommend trying this if it is available; the sweetness of the BBQ pork really compliments the mild spiciness and savouriness of the sauce.

new owners are so nice and friendly. and the food is fantastic. we got the tonkatsu ramen and dumplings and enjoyed both a lot. if you havent been here in awhile please give the new folks a try. we definitely will be back to try other menu items.

The ramen was excellent! I got the spicy vegetable miso ramen with egg added, the portion was huge and the price was great. The staff was incredibly friendly too and had great service!

Pictured is the tonkatsu ramen, which was absolutely delicious along with nicely presented! It has generous portions along with a great flavor. The owners are so very nice and excited to see you. They have rotating lunch specials with large portions. I will be returning here and recommend it to anyone looking for a filling, flavorful meal.

This may not be the fanciest restaurant but it is so good. It’s consistently delicious. Food comes out quickly and it’s hot and fresh. The employees (owners?) are so incredibly kind.

This place is amazing. All bad reviews were from the old management. The staff are all very friendly and the food is absolutely wonderful now. I ordered Ramen the other day and they suggested to add kimchi to it and it was amazing. Definitely going back soon.

This place is my husband and I's favorite restaurant in Salem. Lan and Tom are amazing and so sweet. From our first time here they made us feel like family and it's been the same everytime after. Not only are they such sweet people, they make AMAZING food and it's very reasonably priced. I absolutely love going here!

We ordered really late. It was almost closing time.

The food was absolutely amazing , piping hot, full of flavor huge portions. We order the lo mein 9.5 out of 10 lots of meat seafood veggies enough to feed three people so so good. We also had the special fried rice which was loaded with all the goodies I especially love all the extra vegetables. 9.8 out of 10.

The cold noodles were a nice addition to our meal, it has a real light fresh, clean flavor not heavy at all. This made a perfect lunch for the next day. It was recommended to use the garlic chili oil-that put it over the top. Delicious!

Wonderful and warm customer service. They greeted us and kept checking in. Great atmosphere. It was somewhat small inside, but to us it felt familiar and comforting. Food? Fantastic. Beautiful presentation and great prices. 5/5 stars, would highly recommend. Will come again. (Any bad reviews probably come from previous ownership.)

NEW MANAGEMENT!!! This is a totally different restaurant than before. Too bad they didn't change the name to wipe all the old irrelevant reviews.

Simple menu, but done right. Food was great! Reasonably priced! Staff was extremely friendly. The place also received a very nice face-lift and is bright and cheery.

Give it a try, we weren't disappointed.
