I cannot say enough good things about Carlson Animal Hospital. They were able to accommodate me for my puppy's first visit the day-of due to a cancellation. They could NOT have been more friendly and caring to my pup. Thoroughly explained all my health options for him and it was all very reasonably affordable. I feel like finding providers is NEVER this easy. I am so lucky to have found this practice.

THE BEST veterinarian practice I’ve ever been to in over 2 decades of seeing different vets. While others have been fine, Carlson genuinely has the highest quality in services and medical care. They go above and beyond every step of the way from the front desk staff to the Drs and they genuinely care. Their medical team are patient, empathetic with pet owners and have provided incredibly thorough medical care for my cats. AND their front of desk staff are the nicest people and amazing at their job! My 2 cats have had the best care, it’s wonderful to have a vet practice I have every confidence in every step of the way. Clearly I can’t recommend them more highly, wish I’d found them years ago!

One of the best vets we've had the pleasure of taking our cats to. We previously brought our cats to Carlson when we lived very close to the location. After moving into the city we have used multiple other vets for a few years, none match up to the knowledge and level of care Carlson staff provides.

My husband and I are first time puppy owners (aside from the family dogs we had growing up), and adopted our little 4 month old love bug Bristol in December. Our experience at Carlson Animal Hospital was nothing short of above and beyond - exceeded all of our expectations! We unfortunately had a bad experience with another local vet - we felt they were not responsive when we were concerned for our pup. The switch to Carlson was everything we needed and more for our family, and especially Bristol, to feel cared for. The staff was fabulous with her, she LOVES them, and we do too! Answered all of our questions, gave us reassurance when needed, diagnosed what’s likely going on very efficiently, and engaged with us very compassionately. We were hoping to find a vet that had more of a community / family vibe, and we feel we have found just that. So happy we found our forever vet!

Carlson Animal Hospital is the best veterinary practice in the Chicago area. The vets and the staff are all kind, competent, and empathetic, no matter how crazy and frantic you, as a pet owner, get.

My dog, Siggy, almost died from IBD. He was sick for months and eventually stopped eating. Dr. Lazar literally saved his life. And this was after seeing a dozen other vets who told me he was just a picky eater.

We started at Carlson about seven years ago, with our first dog, after a bad experience with a different veterinary practice. Everyone - from the office staff and techs to the doctors themselves are tremendous. Even during the pandemic they have been incredibly responsive, thorough and compassionate.

We have a puppy now, and know that he’s in excellent hands. I think it’s fair to expect the majority of vets are good with day-to-day problems, but when something mysterious or serious comes up, Carlson is by far the best in our experience.

Everyone at Carlson Animal Hospital is so kind and excellent with animals. Everything is explained thoroughly, and questions are answered with care. I always feel very taken care of there!

I can’t say enough good things about Carlson Animal Hospital. The doctors here are great and have taken care of my two dogs for years. They are always willing to take the time to explain things to us and have been helpful as my oldest has been having arthritis pain over the last couple years. As a bonus, Amy at the front desk is the best, always finds a way to make appointments fit my schedule, and so great with our dogs

I brought my kitten here after struggling for over 3 months to get any results regarding his issue from another local animal hospital. Dr. Lazar was great with him right off the bat. She did a thorough exam, figured out the issue, and suggested a plan of action. I am happy with the care Sebastian gets here from not only the Dr. Lazar but the vet techs as well. This is gonna be our go to animal hospital going forward and Bash is a happy guy!

I can't speak highly enough about the care my pet has received at Carlson Animal Hospital. The doctors and staff are top notch and so caring. My pet has an enlarged heart (and allergies too) so the attention and superior care is so much appreciated. I would not even consider going elsewhere for her care. I have been a client here for 13 years and I will never consider taking my pets anywhere else! Carlson Animal Hospital is hands down the BEST place you can get medical care for little furry ones. My first experience here was with my little 14 year old shih tzu, Gabriel, who was was in kidney failure. I was originally going to another animal hospital for his routine care when we found this out. Their treatment options were only limited to fluid therapy and after the second time he was hospitalized, they recommended euthanasia. My dog was still very active and was not showing any symptoms other than urinating more so, I was not convinced that I should be so abrupt to end is life. I was able to get a second opinion with Dr. Carlson and I am so glad that I did! He found that my dog had an adrenal tumor, a potassium disorder and high blood pressure along with his kidney issues. Dr. Carlson was very thorough and took his time to explain everything to me in detail and educated me on what treatments would be best. I already knew that kidney failure was not a curable disease but, Dr. Carlson and his wonderful staff gave my dog the best treatments to keep him comfortable and happy. I had 2 more years with my wonderful little guy and I could not thank them enough for all of their compassionate care within that time. I definitely would not have had that if I stuck with Gabriel’s previous animal hospital. I have also seen Dr. Swindell, Dr. Lazar and Dr. Richerson for my current cats and dog. I can’t even count how many times they have been more than accommodating when my pets have gotten sick, to squeeze me in on busy days and even staying late when I have had emergencies and never once feeling rushed. I feel lucky to have found Carlson Animal Hospital and appreciate all they have done and continue to do for me and my pets. They truly are wonderful and care for your pets as if they were their own.

Extremely positive, courteous and caring environment. From the minute you walk in, you are greeted by warm and friendly souls, who greet my dog by name! From there we visited with the Tech's and Doctors who again were very caring and thorough. A very detailed plan was created for the care of our dog. And the very next morning, I was contacted by the Doctor to see how our "baby" was doing. With my Internist was as compassionate. I highly recommend this practice

Carlson Animal Hospital was a dream to work with! I needed a travel certificate for my pup and they were quick to get him in, communicative, and just all around great. My dog can be anxious and they made him feel comfortable right away. Additionally, they helped me feel at ease with the traveling process.

I can’t say enough good things about Carlson Animal Hospital. We started going to the hospital with our two dogs. We immediately felt a kindred spirit with Jen and Ellay. They are great! Everyone is friendly, kind and professional. After several years, our older dog was unfortunately diagnosed with a tumor. Dr. Lazar (Leslie) helped us make the best choices for our dog with compassion, knowledge and calm. I will be forever grateful to her, especially after the long process of trying to save our dog ended, she was there with us on that awful day. She has a special place in my heart.
