Brass Tacks Sandwiches

Friendly, chill staff, super yummy sandwiches with high quality ingredients. I built my own sandwhich with roast beef, avocado, provolone, lettuce, garlic aioli and dijon on ciabatta. It was perfect! Not a cheap sammy but definitely worth it. The roast beef was cooked perfectly and so succulent. They have a beer and a cider on tap and some in cans and bottles plus kombucha, and sodas. The place is teeny but if you go in between the breakfast and lunch rushes, you can get some quiet moments for a casual date.

A wonderful little sandwich shop in Northeast. You can have their items on the menu either as a sandwich or a salad. And don't forget to try the potato salad, it's just like how Grandma used to make it.

Today, I took my 70+ yo auntie for lunch after googling “Best Sandwich near me”
We were NOT disappointed! The sandwiches were delicious, the bread perfect and the Homemade Dill pickle extraordinary!
We topped it off with a -to die for!- cherry jam thumbprint cookie that melted in our mouths! The jam the perfect mix of sweet and tart!!!
I highly recommend this place to all!! They have restored my faith in sandwiches!!!!

I love this sandwich shop with vegetarian and vegan options. The meatball wizard is perfect. From the texture of the meatballs to the flavor of the whole sandwich, it's delicious. I bet most people wouldn't even know the difference. I'm excited to visit again to try more of the vegan sandwiches.

Delicious!! I had heard rave reviews of this place, so I tried their salami sandwich today and was very pleased. I asked for aioli instead of the mustard, and I think that it would have been good either way. I love that they use fresh bread, and that they make their own meat substitute options. I will try the vegan salami next time! Be prepared for a bit of a wait during the lung rush.

The sandwiches are excellent, service is fast. Great sandwiches. Large enough to share... Also they have their own bottles of cold water extract coffee. cool art on the walls and mismatched light fixtures completes the Portland look. Highly recommended.

HOLY S#$T, these are some dang good sandwiches! I had a delicious sandwich with turkey, ham, provolone, avocado and AMAZING house made tomato jam and cashew cheese. The atmosphere, the owners, the employees, the customers: everything is happy and beautiful and wonderful and delicious!

Super yummy sandwiches! I have a smaller apetite and their vegan meatball sandwich makes for a solid lunch-and-early-dinner double meal. The sauce soaks in and makes the bread all delicious and tasty by the second meal and it's like a whole different sandwich. I probably need to go get one tomorrow, I'm making myself hungry writing this.

Nice selection of sandwiches, vegan options, plus you can "build your own" with their handy reusable ordering cards. This place is always a go-to for me when I'm in the area, and sometimes just for a special trip. :)

Love this sandwich shop and always make a stop here when I'm in Portland. I like making my own sandwich as they have a good selection of home made veggie meat substitutions. Make sure to get a pickle on the side as they have tasty pickles to go along with an awesome sandwich. Chips come with all sandwiches

I like that they have good meat and vegan options. The Italian cold cut sandwich was delicious. There's not a lot of seating, so be prepared to maybe take it to go or wait a bit at lunch.

If you were doing a tour of all the best sandwich places in Portland, Brass Tacks would definitely be on the list. Amazing sandwiches. We often stop here and pick up sandwiches on our ways out to the river in the summer. Great choices of fixings, good potato salad. I'm not a huge fan of their pickles, but it's definitely unique and worth trying.

Right when you walk in the staff creates a comfortable and welcoming unseen atmosphere in the quant but spacious dining area. With it's distressed and at home design quality about the place it's easy to get lost in a book or a conversation ,with whomever joined you. Almost like your all alone at a little cabin in the woods some where in the cutest country dining room. On top the excellent feel in the environment aspect the food is A++. With gluten free, preservative free, hormone-free fed meats,locally grown veggies they top it off by supporting the community and buying from local producers for they're chips(which come with every sandwich) and a local bakery for all they're daily freshly baked breads. They don't stop to amaze me though, they also require recycling or own waste. Which could serve as a lesson to everyone that doesn't do their part for our planet. Maybe some(excuse my French) idiot will take the knowledge home and use it permanently. Proteins are filling yet affordable. So 5 STARS Well earned Brass Tacks Sandwiches. You deserve it.

Excellent sandwiches, fresh seasonal sides and specials. Perfect for a lunch to go or to hang out and drink a beer and share something with a friend. Sandwiches are big enough to share and good enough to eat a whole one by your self.

I come here a couple times a month usually & have loved it every single time. The people working here are always kind & never aggressively in your face with energy. I don't know about anyone else but it's also a plus for me that each person plays a different set of music in the store when they're working, & it always makes for interesting listens! I've tried a couple of things here but my absolute favorite is the meatball wizard, so wonderfully filling & perfectly messy most of the time! I came recently & the cashiers system crashed so they were unable to charge me accurately, letting me leave without paying, which was extremely kind. I tipped $5 out of worry that they might get in trouble for that, though! I can't see myself stopping coming here anytime soon, & I recommend it constantly to friends!
