One of the most beautiful parks in the area. Magnolias take the center stage, but coast redwoods, firs, cypress, oak, and hemlock round it out. It rivals the better-known Hendricks Park rhododendron grove in Eugene for beauty when in bloom.

Plenty of benches and picnic tables spaced around the main walk loop. Lots of open space for kids to play (no playground, though.)

The park was severely damaged during Icemageddon 2024, but looks set to recover nicely.

Make sure to go there when the plants are in bloom. Even when they’re not, this park is still lovely.

It's a beautiful place, this year the freeze really had a big impact on the trees. They are working hard on the clean up debris. Going back later this summer to enjoy it again.

Love going to Ruff Park, you are in another world just steps from the main roads. Truely beautiful garden, of palm, magnolia and many other trees and plants.

Secluded quiet and oh so peaceful. The kids were skeptical because there wasn't going to be a 'playground'... we took one walk around the main path loop neoprene they found another group of kids and ended playing soccer, tag and even 'restaurant'. I'm guessing that's them acting out moms and dads at restaurants probably we we weren't represented highly 🤣🤣

I have lived in thurston for 5 years and just found this park today. It has a collection of magnolia trees! They are beautiful and it is a quiet spot, great for a run or walking your dog.

Like a secret garden, in a way hidden in plain sight, off the beaten path in the Thurston area of Springfield (OR) with a gated entrance on a residential road, this beautiful magnolia grove is an easy loop to leisurely stroll along a paved path. Path is especially easy for those disabled, with young children and walking a dog. Benches and picnic tables throughout. With an eclectic mix of magnolias, deciduous trees and flowering shrubs, Ruff Park is a lovely destination for a walk nearly year round. Ample parking with a portapotty between handicap parking spaces and footbridge.

Super little park. Filled with every kind of magnolia tree. Spring is the perfect time to visit. You may even find a painted rock or two here. Typically a very peaceful walk

Beautifully maintained park with lots of lovely plants, both blooming and otherwise, and a paved walking course around the perimeter. It takes 3 laps to make a mile, so it's not long, but you'll see something new every trip around.

Quiet, peaceful park. This is the time of year to visit. Magnolias are blooming and the park is changing day by day as different varieties take center stage. Springfield's best kept secret.

Fun place to fly a drone not very crowded for a Sunday. We got lucky and had a sunny day. Would be even better if the magnolias were in season
