Denorval Unthank City Park

Quiet park on a weekday summer evening. We are visiting Portland from out of town and decided to have our Eem takeout food here while our toddler played on the playground. There are a couple picnic benches and tables near the playground.

Nice park with a field and four basketball courts

Is it the fanciest park? Nope. Is it the biggest park? Nope. But it's a great place to bring your dog or family and hang out and be yourself. There's enough room for long ball throws for your dog and it's generally not crowded. The hoops courts can get dirty and could use more fences to keep the ball from bouncing away, but they're serviceable. Unthank is now a morning destination for me and my dog

Saw some great young talented folks peform and THE OHIO PLAYERS ended the concert with a B-A-N-G !

Great little park, we stopped for a picnic and to set up a slackline. There was a group of kids playing cricket in the middle of the field by the parking lot and a number of other people walking dogs around the park. Nice easy spot to get to.

Awesome place to park & sleep when you're living in your car – since that's the only way I could afford to live in Portland for a time. The bathrooms are open irregularly, but maintained well.

It's a great park for dogs, and families, especially kids learning to ride bikes. Has a baseball field and small playground. Excellent basketball court.

I grew up in this playing in this Park. In 1953, I was born 1808 N Vancouver. When built the I-5 freeway, my parents bought a home where the Park is. When they decided to build a Park in honor if a local African American Doctor (Dr Denorval Unthank), my Parents bought a house right across the street. I grew up watching them build the Park and played in the park for many years with my friends. I have since enjoyed attending numerous events in the Park every summer. This park is right in the heart of what was known for 50 years as the Black Community.

Attended the SEI event. The park was clean and well organized. There is a great play area for the kids.

This is a review for 5Q, not the park that's a few blocks west of it.
I've always loved this place. Before I became vegetarian, I thought their 5Q burger was the best in Portland (especially back when it had feta). Now, I love the mushroom-based burgery thingy (and I don't even like mushrooms). 5Q's always been the best hangout for a post-practice drink with bandmates or for an afternoon of grading.

Great I had a good time at the concert guess who was in town? con funkstion R and B it was great seeing the old school people thanks a lot.

A fun place to take my dog to run around. Never mind the reviews about safety. I’ve never felt scared here!

I've lived near this park for a long time now and gone to it science I was little. It has a great dog park and a basket ball court and a playground. I also learned to ride my bike there

Quiet and great place to socialize with k9 owner's.

This is a very small, pretty park with open grass for picnicking or playing catch with your dog. Basketball court and a kids play set. Also bathrooms!

Nice big park. Plenty room for dog or cats to run around. Kids to play on swings slides teadataarter.

Great little off leash area for dogs; basketball courts, seating areas around perimeter. Love this park.

My dog loves this park. There are usually lots of great pups here too. Pretty well kept.

I always feel like there is a sense of community when we go to this park, the neighbors stop by and watch the events the children can play and it is just a nice Community Park
