The Chocolate Moose

Really enjoyed our ice cream from the Chocolate Moose! They have a lot of seating. Our desserts were made quick and we did not have to wait long to order or pick up our food. The soft serve was amazing and the pricing was good for our items. It is clean and the outdoor area was nice to enjoy our desserts!

Banana Pudding Ice Cream! Need I say more? This was my first time at The Chocolate Moose, but definitely won't be my last. They have a great variety of flavors including lots of vegan options.

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoy dining here after visiting the Wonderlab Museum every time we visit Bloomington. We always get an ice cream but last time I even got a BLT and it was delicious and the atmosphere is always upbeat! Very busy place but service time wasn't bad! Kudos to the employees for keeping up with business with smiles on their faces!

Ice cream was delicious. Great selection and quick service. Accommodated a peanut allergy no problem which is critical for us!

We absolutely love the chocolate moose! This time we got the chocolate explosion Sunday with vegan coffee ice cream and also a freeze with vegan coffee ice cream...so freaking good! This is just the first of many trips to the Moose this year!

This place is ice cream heaven. I don’t have a sweet tooth but this place has me coming back and trying all the different favours of ice cream and types of desserts. So far my favorites are: vanilla ice cream, cheese cake ice cream, red velvet cake ice cream, chocolate fudge ice cream, vanilla pecan sundae and so many more.

Best ice cream in town! Love the frappes too! The pulled pork Mac n cheese is delicious!!

Grasshopper ice cream is AmaZing!

Walk up window. Indoor seating. Bathrooms. Sundaes. Vegan ice cream. Pup cups. Hot food.

SUCH a great ice cream shop. The smell of fresh waffle cones fills the store. This was an old style ice cream shop from the 1950s when I was in college. Now it's housed underneath an apartment complex, but the ice cream is still rich and flavorful. Chocolate Moose is a Bloomington staple - some of the best ice cream around.

This is our first visit to the "new" location. It is a bit different as the place is a LOT bigger. However I found it was also better which we doubted could be possible. After all The Moose was THE place to go for cold refreshment in Btown. Putting it inside and revamping the serving area made everything different and we were prepared for dislike. Yay! The wait time was short. Shakes were the BOMB! Staff is amazing. Our fears were dashed to the pavement.

First time visiting the new location and it was getting a lot of business that day. With lots of choices and interesting flavors, the friendly and cheerful staff added to the experience, as they were willing to give me some recommendations (so many good flavors!). There were plenty of seating available

Always clean and inviting. The ice cream is great but it's the cute staff the see what keeps me coming over and over.

Their new food menu is awesome! Lots of options for all your cravings. I have been back for the BLT twice in the past 2 weeks. I get it on a croissant and the bacon is juicy, good amount of lettuce, tomato and you can add cheese too! I also had the Cuban which was hearty! I could have saved half for another meal but I enjoyed it so much I ate it all.

I grew up in Bloomington, and The Chocolate Moose is THE place to go for ice cream. It’s so nice seeing them in their new building, and they managed to keep the feel and charm of the place as it was before. Amazing ice cream, good prices, and it’s local! You can’t go wrong.
Pro Tip: If you have kids (or are young at heart), ask for eyes in your ice cream!

Gluten free and vegan options! And the vegan ice cream is good! Tonight when we went they were super busy - but everyone was still cheerful and great customer service.

Made a pit stop on the way home for a little ice cream. Pleasant surprise for homemade ice cream. Lots of flavors, made the old school way.

Amazing atmosphere - great pricing and options of flavors. they have regular ice cream and soft serve. They also have vegan options for thos with allergies or intolerances which is a major plus for me. I'll be going back many many times. They also serve delicious coffee.

Btown classic. Tried their Velvet Rope flavor and the Nutella was an EXCELLENT addition to their cheesecake flavor 😋
