Fred's Hickory Inn

The best meal my family has ever enjoyed together. My husband had the filet. It melted in his mouth. My daughter had the turkey pot pie and it was scrumptious. The crab cakes were delicious as well. The service is phenomenal. It is fine dining at its best. We love all the restaurants owned by the restaurant group. The establishment is extremely clean. We love love this place!

This place is amazing! Loved, loved, loved it. Wonderful service that really cares and makes you feel welcomed. The atmosphere is beautiful and lit just right for intimate dining. The food is seriously show stopping and we can't wait to revisit this little gem. Such a great family owned business. Do yourself a favor and go treat yourself to a meal at Fred's Hickory Inn. It really is excellent.

Some friends and I met at Fred’s for lunch and we were pleasantly surprised at the $15.99 lunches buffet option with salads, soup, sliders , deserts and more - service was also top notch

It's been three years and it is still amazing. Great food, excellent wait staff, and fine dining as expected. The cheesecake was homemade, and they had blueberry topping!

The saga of Fred’s continues...
It’s been nearly four years since this legendary Bentonville supper club was temporarily shuttered by a fire. Upon reopening things just weren’t the same, not by a long shot. The rebuilding of the structure was fine but the food and staff barely resembled the old Fred’s. Finally things have begun to seriously turn around. I would urge anyone that wrote Fred’s off as a lost cause to give them another look.

On a recent visit we were greeted warmly and quickly seated. It was immediately obvious that our server was the kind of pro Fred’s used to regularly employ. I usually don’t mention names, even when the service is great, but Casey was quite possibly the best server we’ve had in Northwest Arkansas, and we’ve had some very good service locally. His knowledge of the menu, both food and drink, was impressive. Further he had extensive knowledge of Fred’s history and an obvious passion for his profession.

Fred’s is unique in that it’s calling card is smoked meats, especially ribs, combined with a relaxed fine dining atmosphere. In recent times this was one of the areas where Fred’s struggled; not anymore. The house-made sausage, pork and beef made for a terrific appetizer, The Fred’s Sampler. The Steak Salad was elevated to outstanding by the perfectly seasoned and grilled steak and wonderful house-made dressings. The Smoked Chicken with an accompanying Rib were off the charts, like I’d been transported to Fred’s circa 1971. The Cheesecake was a fitting end to an exceptional dining experience that I hope to soon repeat.

One word of advice; unless you are already a fan skip the spaghetti, this just isn’t an Italian restaurant.

Fantastic atmosphere and wonderful steaks. Service was very attentive and pleasant. The smoked meats appetizer was a great sampler of their smoked menu.

Was a very enjoyable location to celebrate my anniversary, will definitely be going back.

I highly recommend ordering Fred's Steak. We love this place and the atmosphere, though on our last visit, they were playing very depressing country music at a high volume. :-(

In my experience, steaks are cooked a bit more rare than what's requested, just so you know. Service is fantastic. Our food came out quickly. Unfortunately, we are usually passing through on Sunday when they're not open, but we always stop in if we happen to drive thru on a Saturday.

We drove in from Dallas to watch our Granddaughters in a local theater play, and searched for a great place to have lunch with our family. We found Fred’s, and our daughter said everyone raves about it.

After lunch, we are among those who love it! First, the Hostess knew that we were here from Dallas and meeting family. She greeted us like an old friend and walked us back to our family’s table. Our Waiter was friendly , and hospitable. He worked at our pace, and we spent over two hours there.

My chicken and spinach was awesome. Our son said the meatball sandwich was delicious because the meatballs were smoked. The youngest loved the mac-n-cheese. Everything was awesome!

Before leaving for the day, our Hostess dropped by the table to ask if we enjoyed our meal and little family reunion. She made our six year old feel really special.

The Sunday buffet is excellent.
Food from the menu is very good. Service was friendly and efficient.

Cade was a fantastic waiter. He was on point .The food was amazing. Looking forward to a good steak this is the place.

Good getaway from chain restaurants. Very good service always! The food is tasty and the atmosphere is nice casual dining. Great for date night or for the family!

This was a gem and we ate there on a whim. The staff was super attentive. The house manager checked on us twice. That never happens!!! Our food was delicous!!! You have to try the deviled eggs, yummy!!! Their price were as expected. Thank you for a great culinary experience and friendly service. We enjoyed our time there and will be back!!

Incredible place for smoked meat, pasta, or grilled entrees. Everything is done very well with attention to detail. Pictured is the wedge salad.

The lunch salad bar was great! Unusual, fresh ingredients for salad, fresh bread, Mac n cheese, ravioli, two kinds of soup and two kinds of dessert. Highly recommend!

Service is great and so is the food. They had a smoked tenderloin on special which was amazing and so tender. I ate way too much food but it was worth it.

Very nice service, old timey place. Smoked pork was okay. The meat sampler outside of that was fantastic. Very good meatball. Also recommend the spinach artichoke dip.

Some of the best food in Bella Vista that I've ever eaten. It's cheap too, like 20 bucks per person. Even with refills and the 20 bucks can be for 3 foods at once. Definitely coming back. Also has some really nice waiters and waitresses.

Great family restaurant and we hold our company gatherings here. Top Notch.

Update for 2022, sorry but I can not recommend this anymore. Service and food have dropped to a dismal shadow of it's former self. Some one please resurrect this classic restaurant to it's full potential once again.

Update 08-2023, Yay! Saved by the bell. Table at Freds heard the call and is bringing Freds Hickory Inn back strong. Food is delicious and service is quality. Looking forward to when the smoke house is up and running again.

We planned and had our rehearsal dinner here.
It was small for 20 people. Susan was amazing! Super attentive and detailed oriented.
She made sure we had the room ready and all of the waiters took care of our guests. We arrived earlier (about 15 min) and they made sure to have everything ready in less than that.

We are definitely going back and all of our guests loved it

The only thing that we would change would be a slightly different menu selection - ribs felt dry because it was a dry seasoning instead of a sauce (not bad) but not my preferred choice for ribs
