I chose online school because we have moved 3 times in 2 years and I felt my daughter needed consistency in high school. She is in the 9th grade and takes all honors classes. She is making straight A's. There is a lot of work involved, but it helps her learn and prepares her for online classes in college. The teachers are very helpful and are easily accessible. The flexibility is great. I would recommend this school to anyone who can remain focused and needs flexibility. The field trips are great, too. We have enjoyed meeting other families and all the staff. All staff has been professional and helpful.

My daughter thrived with Connections Academy. She has completely moved forward. She's even taken college courses so her next step is 1 giant leap.

9th grade has been great for my son! He has been challenged with the work, and has teachers who care and who are helpful when either he or I have questions. On another note, as a competitive gymnast, this school is great, because he gets all his work done during a shorter than average public school day, with no homework. This allows him the free time he needs as a kid, and allows him the hours he puts in at the gym, with no worries of having to miss because he has extra work to do at night. I feel like this school will really prepare him for college and look forward to next year.

My 9th grade son wanted something different for high school. After researching numerous options we decided to try Arkansas Connections Academy. It was a difficult transition at first but the teacher communication was encouraging and supportive! I love that he has a teacher for each class, live lessons and we can contact them at just about any time for help or questions. The curriculum has been rigorous and challenging. My Learning Coach Coordinator, Chris Pupillo, is amazing in helping boost my confidence as a Learning Coach. The counselor, Craig Smith, was wonderful in placing my son in his classes and assessing his needs. The field trips are fun and educating and have allowed my son to make friends from all over the state. His homeroom teacher, Mrs. Curiel, rocks!! :) Thank you and we look forward to 10th grade!

ARCA is a really great school. Online isn't for everyone, but my daughter is doing so much better then if she were at a brick and mortar. I know being an online school you can't have sports through the school, but I wish they did it would make it so much easier. I would definitely recommend, and have, this school.

My son attended his freshman year with this school because of the pandemic. At first it was hard for him getting used to the online platform, but by the end of the year he had all A's and a couple of B's. He will start his sophomore year with Connections Academy and now loves this school!

This is our first time with a non classroom environment for any of my three children. My son, Luke is in 8th grade and suffers from 3 chronic health issues that made our first semester of 8th grade very traumatic both to him and myself. We started off this semester behind and had lost so much ground due to doctor visits and lack of school attendance that we were overwhelmed. We still are at times but it is not by any means the schools fault or any of the teachers fault. It is just plain and simple facts that if you miss too many days of school or classroom instruction then you lose ground. In his case, each and every teacher has gone out of their way to try and give him back the confidence that he had lost in his in own abliities as a student and that they were there for him not just as a student making good grades and excelling in their program or a particular class but also as a whole person. Each of his teachers have gotten on to him for not reaching out to them more than he does. He is extremely shy and was never one to raise his hand in class but his old school records spoke for themselves and they knew that before he had so many health issues he was more than capable of doing anything he set his mind too. They could tell that excelling in school had one time been a big passion of his and they promised to do everything in their power to encourage him that he would one day be that kind of student again. He still struggles with the long assignments at times and gets discouraged and at times this can bring on a health flare up. But with this program we can at least treat the health issue and return back to it when he feels better. Many times I have just sent a message to one of his teachers and they are right on it by calling him and giving him ecouragement and redoing his planner that lists his assignments in a different order so that he feels less anxiety. I can't say enough good about the school and especially the teachers that we have been blessed with. I am constantly giving out information on them to other people and you will never find a negative word come out of my mouth or my son's mouth. He feels safe, loved, secure and comfortable knowing that each of teachers are available for him 24/7!!!!!!!
They also go on field trips where the kids and the parents get to meet other families and get to interact with their teachers as well.. Much better than a parent teacher conference or an open house for sure.

ARCA has been great for my 7th grader. We had a little problem at the beginning of the school year trying to get her in the right math class because of switching from private school to online public school. Once we got that fixed, my daughter has been doing great. She had been asking to homeschool for about 3 yrs now. ARCA is the only way we have been able to make that happen. We have very busy schedules with my husband and I working full time and then running a business on top of that. The last thing I have time for is developing a curriculum and all that goes with it. With ARCA, the curriculum is there, my daughter has her teachers that she reports to, & she can get her homework done at all hours of the day/ night no matter where we are. My daughter is a competitive gymnast spending long hours in the gym and on the road. She did fall behind during the main competitive season, and her teachers were very understanding and supportive of her sport. Since spring break, not only did she get caught up with her classes, but she is now way ahead in a few of her subjects. We have had the opportunity to meet her teachers in person for the ground breaking ceremony, Read Across America, and on one field trip. Her teachers have been welcoming and seemed happy to see her. I will also be honest and say that there has been times where my daughter was frustrated because of different reasons- "too much work", confused about a topic, unable to get a program to work right, connection issues with the Live Lessons. As I have pointed out to her, you would still be doing the same amount of work if you were in a classroom, but now you have to be responsible to take notes and read everything. As far as the program having connections issues or not working right, I feel that is part of dealing with computer programs. My work and home computers have issues at times also. It happens. All in all, we are very happy with ARCA. My daughter likes her teachers, she has made a couple of friends within the school, we are members of a local homeschool group, and she is already trying to figure out ways to get her 8th grade work done next year during her competitive season.

Switching to Arkansas Connections Academy was not nearly as difficult as I thought it would be. The staff are friendly and helpful. They check in with you several times just to keep in touch and make sure things are working out. Once we were all enrolled and got started, it was a bumpy road. We had to learn the system and get into a routine, while still having the flexibility that is available through ARCA. At this point, we've been with ARCA for going on two months and things are going well. We've been able to attend our first field trip and meet some of the teachers and students. It has been a great experience and I wouldn't change anything.
