Mount Elgon National Park

This is a mountainous area with good views of the park while on top of the rocks once hiked,I was lucky with my team to see an abyssinian ground thrush

Words can't explain it all coz everything is so amazing.

It is a hidden gem, and it's not been given the attention it deserves because they have a lot to offer at good prices.

-Elephants that go inside the caves to lick the mineral walls

- A lot of wild animals around mostly herbivores and no carnivores.

Amazing park, with a number of campsites to take a rest. Near the entrance there's a small accommodation area with guest house and cottages. Mt Elgon is not far. It's either 2-day hike from the gate or if using 4WD car one-day if you start from the end of the road. At the gate you can use services of very nice and knowledgeable guides which is a very smart idea if you are first time there. It's rather safe hiking there but it's good to get a first hand knowledge from experienced locals. The Kitum cave is mind blowing but don't try to get there at night as you might meet elephants there 😀

The park is good has a clear view. Precence of tourist attraction.presence of security.pleasure and has a nice view. Accommodation services which can facilitate the tourists

Climbed Koitobos peak 4222m high in Mount Elgon, the experience was so marvellous, to climb such height kindly make sure you take some light energizer with you like biscuits and sweets or else you won't get that high because your energy will be highly drained.

It's a beautiful place to visit with scenery to die for.😉
If you love hiking and nature or would like to give it a try then this is your place,make sure to carry drinking water and a camera, because the views are wow not forgetting the green vegetations.

Nature lover, silence in the forest, wild animals lover, you wanna see some caves and beautiful waterfall. Yes yes it's a place for you. Beautiful and all I can recommend!!

Place is very cold past stent. And when you use kaberwa road it will important that you ask for pure honey and sweet local drink knon as lakweek

I come from sipi the land with fascinating features and a beautiful place to stay. This is season of picking coffee,harvesting maize circumcision touring other interesting place like mise natural cave, three water falls along Sipi river and mount Elgin National Park specifically kapwai exploration centre. Accommodation is affordable.

Mt. Elgon National Park is a peaceful place to relax and enjoy nature. The Park staff are very helpful and will assist you to make the most of your time in this beautiful park. The Kapkuro bandas are simple and inexpensive. We didn't have high expectations but we were pleasantly surprised by having electricity and even instant showers. Our banda, Blue Monkey, had a refrigerator but it might be the only one. So if that is a priority for you inquire in advance to book that one. There is nothing like waking up to see water bucks, zebras and baboons right outside the door to your banda. That having been said you must keep your door closed or else you might get unexpected visitors. The baboons tried to push the door open a few times. They would also jump onto the window sills and peek in. There were no chairs or tables in the room or for sitting on the verandah. We were told that the baboons destroyed them 😳. When we inquired about the chairs they brought us some to use. There were no lids to the pots/sufurias but probably if we had asked they would have given us some. The staff was helpful and friendly. We will come back again.

No words can describe this. From the farming communities at appx 1600mtr above sea level. The atmosphere feels like everything was created yesterday. A hike up the mountain to appx4321 mtrs (asl) will drive your spirits into a meditation mood, at the wonder of nature. The weather changes minute from rain to sunny, to chilly.

Beautiful scenery. Loved it. You need at least 3 days to tour this gorgeous park.

Sitting in the backyard of my village in Bunasekye. For some this is Mt. Elgon National Park. The lush green hills are serene except for the occasional entourage of youth, waists gyrating to the 'kadodi' drum beat, dancing up and down the slopes, for gifts from relatives' homes. The days are running out after all as the circumcision year winds up.

Its park in western part of the country. One of the access gates is Chorlim Gate in Endebess approximately 30km from Kitale. You will need a 4*4 vehicles for easy access during the rainy season. Otherwise during the dry season it ok with most cars.
What to see; the park has rich wildlife; Elephants , Zebras and even waterbucks welcome you at the gate.

Ask for Guide William at the Gate he is an amazing Human.

You can do a complete climb up in 3-4 days to Koitobos peak(4221m) or even cross over to uganda to access the highest peak 4321m Wagagai Peak and exit through Mbale in Uganda. This may take about 6-7 days. Remember a handover from Kenya guides to ugandan guides and porters is required. You must also have your passport stamped at Suam border point before you start the climb.
