Kena Beach Hotel

Kena Beach is an extremely peaceful and relaxing hotel with beautiful gardens, spacious fully-detached rooms, large bathrooms, indoor and outdoor showers, many food options, a dive centre, and wonderful staff. It was the perfect retreat after 10 days of safari and we didn't want to leave. We travelled with our father/father-in-law, and he was there a few days before us alone. The staff looked after him so well. He also learned to dive with the great dive centre Scubafish. We went B&B but had lunch in the hotel everyday as well, and some dinners. The food is good value. There are also many options for dinner nearby, and we particularly liked walking along the beach to The Rock and Seles.

The beach is great is beautiful. The whole place is very relaxing and quiet but with the excitement of diving. The perfect place to rest and recharge. Would definitely return.

We had such a lovely time with Hishma and the team at Kena where we enjoyed our honeymoon! We were treated like family and looked after very well. Nothing was too much trouble and everyone was super friendly. The rooms are beautiful, the food delicious and the atmosphere very relaxing. We would highly recommend a visit here and wish we could return every year!

We had an amazing stay at Kena. We were there for 4 nights but could have easily stayed more. Beautiful spacious rooms, comfortable beds, beautiful setting with lush flowers and foliage, and very friendly and helpful staff. The food was good, but portions could have been a bit bigger and a bit more flavorful.

the rooms are clean, they are cleaned regularly. The place, with flowers and plants, gives the place a real paradise atmosphere, all in the most beautiful and quiet place on the island.
The food is impeccably delicious, we had a really good time, we would go back anytime.
I miss the little Pomeranian “Tutu” already.

Beautiful property. A bit too far from airport. Nice and peaceful to really relax. Good food. Friendly staff.

Incredibly accommodating, extremely welcoming, a beautiful environment in an excellent location. The beach itself is worth the stay but there are so many things to compliment.

The bar staff are knowledgeable about their drinks, the food is incredible using locally sourced ingredients purchased daily for great quality. There are two starter options, 2-3 dinner options and two to three deserts. We didn't have one bad dish.

We stayed in the deluxe double room which has its own garden, outside shower, inside shower, massive bath, double sink, deluxe double bed and closed room for toilet. It is incredibly quiet at night. All air conditioned with a fan.

The staff constantly help and always make sure your stay is the best it can be. They can book anything you need and have an on site scuba diving center with piles of activities including mnemba island close by.

Definitely worth a revisit.

Great staff, great service. Everyone nice and polite. Very helpful with all the inquiries we had. We stayed 6 nights.
They made our stay easier and worry free, especially regarding the Covid19 tests. They organized transfer to the hospital and talked to lady there to help us do the test and have it on time for our departure.
They also have very good tour organizer with very good prices. They can arrange many types of tours and rides for guests according to your tastes and wishes. Just approach the desk and ask, they will solve it for you.
Clean place inside and outside, they would clean and refresh our room twice a day.
Wide menu for drinks and food for all inclusive package and not only, we ate something different every day. All the foods were delicious and appealing, we didn't want to miss a meal because of how amazing they were.
For Christmas, they organized a great buffet, live band, local dance and Santa hanging around and clicking pictures with the guests. It was so much fun.

We had an absolutely amazing holiday at Kena. The check-in and check-out went smoothly, the food was really good (and quite impressive considering they don't have access to so many resources as other countries). The staff was nice and helpful. The beach was stunning, the biggest I saw.. It goes for kilometres left and right from the kena Hotel, and it's also feels really safe cause it's always guarded. The room was clean and spacious (it almost felt bigger than regular London apartments)... Long story short, I would definitely recommend the place. A quick mention though: this place is ideal for a quiet and relaxing vacation on the beach, the area outside the complex is not so friendly and there is not much to do around except of the guided tours or the other island-specific activities (scuba, spices tours, snorkeling, reef walks, stone Town tour etc). Also, there is not a night life around or any kind of entertainment, but it's perfect if you need silence and peace

The hotel is located in a gorgeous location in Matemwe, Zanzibar and is a beach front resort. Staff are friendly and overall enjoyed my stay. Activities can be arranged e.g. reef walking, bike riding both of which are complimentary and snorkeling etc at a fee. I had a late departure time and they graciously allowed late checkout. Overall loved it and would definitely go back!

I wish I could give Kena 6 stars! We booked very last minute and Hishma (the manager) was very accommodating, helping us with our wifi needs for work. The gardens are stunning, and the rooms are beautifully decorated. Ours even had an outdoor shower which was lovely!

The staff were very accommodating and I appreciated the eco friendly nature of the place. I was working remotely during my time there and the wifi was excellent. A plus: they have a great scuba dive shop on site for diving and snorkelling trips.

The best Hotel I have stayed at for the last 3 years. The hotel is directly at the beach, the staff are trying to achieve all your wishes.
The manager is a young smart guy with a
vision to serve all guest without letting them nohing it. You feel like your at home

"The best stay we never had" We had a booking for Kena Beach Hotel upcoming but unfortunately had to cancel last minute due to positive test before leaving home country. Whilst the booking was partly non-refundable Kena agreed to refund the full amount. We will 100% visit once problems are over.

Kena is situated in matemwe. A serene place.If you looking for nightlife you wont find much except for some neighboring hotels,especially if the resort is in quite season.However if you want an Ultimate relaxing experience this the place to be.Our Hosts were most generous to upgrade my standard room to an executive suite with meals.Their staff are so warm and inviting.I had a great time lazing around the pool and beach.Really felt at home.Cons: the tour guides on the beach did not deliver on my fishing experience stick with the hotel tours.

Stayed in Dec 2020 and again May 2021. Lovely rooms, beautiful garden, shaded pool, excellent restaurant, direct beach access. Perfect for families with kids.

The hotel is situated on the south coast of Zanzibar. The beach is fantastic. Is a bit far from the night life (that is on the north cost) so it is very quiet and relaxing. Stuff is super kind and always there to help

Very nice place to stay at. Great food, nice rooms and friendly staff. Amazing open main house with a a unique pool. Close to the main dyving are on Zanzibar. Highly recommended for families.

Nice resort, clean swimming pool and very,very,very tasty food. Reef walk is must do,especially thanks to Ame Adam,he showed us lot of sea creatures, star fishes are just amazing!!!
