市場已重新整建完成6年多，民眾仍在早市新中路採購不願光顧市場，所以沒幾位攤位採以居住為主，跟本沒有客户上門，算是蚊子市場，當今市場前整排店家正在拆除重建中，由於位於新民路右邊有新港派出所連接左邊新港奉天宮媽祖廟。

以前是雜亂的早市場，充滿了人潮。
經過政府的改建後，早市移往新中路，造成新中路的雜亂、人潮困擾。
這個公有零售市場，變成乾淨整齊，沒有人潮的建築物。
