amba Taipei Ximending

Excellent service from booking to checkout. This was one of the few hotels I found where there was almost no negative reviews compared with its peers.
Good clean and spacious rooms, very central location in Ximending.

Had great experience staying in during the Taipei trip despite we had 1 power shut down during last night. But hotel was well prepared, giving us camp light and fan.

Wonderful hotel in the center of Ximending area. Close to metro, restaurant and shops. Rooms are clean and well designed, good breakfast (maybe more European food would be appreciated) and services. Staff is really supportive, I hope to visit them again. Love Taiwan!

Excellent hotel with amazing service by the staff! Location is very convenient within the Ximending shopping area yet it’s quiet at night in the room.

The hotel is also Muslim-friendly and you can approach the staff to make Ramadan arrangements, such as suhoor and iftar food which they can help order if you inform them in advance.

I traveled to Taipei with my mom in November 2023. The location was really nice and accessible. Despite being situated in the center of Ximending, I was worried it might be noisy. However, I couldn't hear any noise from outside at all. The staff was welcoming and willing to assist guests, especially Joe, the reception staff. Joe helped us delicately when my mom experienced severe stomach pain. It was a very frustrating experience for us, as we had never encountered such a situation before. Joe assisted us in finding a nearby hospital and hailed a taxi, ensuring we could see a doctor without any difficulties. I appreciate all the help and assistance. I would definitely choose this hotel if I travel to Taipei again

A good stay as it is convenient - near the MRT, near food places, shopping and there is a carrefour within walking distance. The rooms are big and good for families with toddlers and children. Do note that most rooms have no windows. Love their free slippers too, very comfortable.

Great location, comfortable and spacious room. Trendy and cool decoration everywhere.Hotel breakfast was quiet nice. But only have very small window with no view fr our room.

conveniently located in the heart of ximending, the only small issue is you have to pull your luggage up yourselves to the hotel lobby.

Can’t find the particular restaurant here in gmaps but we dined here in amba’s restaurant. We used the lucky land accommodation vouchers won by my friend so we basically ate for free. The service was EXCELLENT. The waiters are soooo nice and very accommodating. The food was superb. We enjoyed everything.

Room was spacious and at level5 lobby there is corner for sitting down area. Plus there are washing machines for free laundry. Location wise is very convenient.

Fantastic stay.
Location is great right smack in Ximending.
Rooms are clean and functional. Bed and memory foam pillow is fantastic.
Stayed for 4 nights and had a superb rest.

There’s free self laundry on the 6th floor.

Breakfast is great with hashbrowns, eggs stations, braised pork rice and much much more.

Absolutely recommend this place for a stay in Taiwan.

I have nothing but positive things to say about this hotel, which is perfectly situated in the heart of Ximending. Whether you're looking to shop daily or unwind after a day exploring Taipei, it's an ideal choice. Upon checking in, I was pleasantly surprised to find a lovely selection of fruits and a local soft drink called 弹珠气泡水 in my room, which was a delightful treat after a long journey from Tainan to Taipei.

The service at this hotel was outstanding. I needed assistance with writing a letter in Mandarin, and one of the staff members graciously helped me with it. I'm incredibly grateful for their help, and it meant a lot to me. Thank you so much for the exceptional service!

Oh yes, not forgetting free laundry at the level 6 washing area (when checking in staff did not share this with me so I had to walk around and explore it). But everything was great, detergent and softener is provided, but you can use your laundry pods as well.

Overall, I would still choose to go back to Amba should I want to stay on a higher end of accommodation in Taipei/Ximending with lots of great food around and easy access to travel around Taipei.

Amazing location! Located in the heart of ximending, the district that never sleeps! The rooms are clean and spacious. The staff is friendly and kind!

2nd time staying at amba xmd. Booked the loft room (i think). The bed is like 2 queen size combined into 1 supet large bed! Could easily fit 2a2c on that oversize bed! We had 2 sofa in the room too. 1 was turned into a sofa bed w mattress and pillow. The room is good size for a family w young kids. The housekeeping service is superb! They probably knew that we had 5 pax staying (2a3c) and they gave us 5 towels everyday! Very thoughtful and so attentive! They replenishes our amenities and drinking water daily! Location is awesome too! If you shop at eslite, you could do your tax rebate and get the cash refund immediately. Food is everywhere and you could just run down to buy breakfast or even supper! Free self-served laundry at level 6 w 3 washer and 3 dryer! Highly recommend to stay in amba if you are looking for hotels in XMD!

I liked that they allowed our family of 9 to use the lobby’s large tables to consume the food from Ximending’s food stalls, which are almost impossible to find seats for large groups.

The free laundromat on the 6th floor makes it convenient for guests because we did not need to pack too much clothing for a 9-day trip.

Located just above the mall and right at Ximending, its a very convenient hotel to be staying in. Ximen station is also about 5-8 mins walk away.
Close to the popular 永和豆浆, convenience stores and shopping are literally just a stone throw away.

Hotel is very clean, though house keeping could be improved a little as they missed on some cleaning and tiny trash.
No disposable toothbrushes, but they did provide the others like bath items lotions, so u may want to ask from housekeeping on this.
Staffs were also very helpful and polite. Definately recommended for stay! Will be back again if i do go by Taipei.

Location: Located within the more quiet section of Ximending with easy access to MRT (around 7 mins walk). Plenty of good food, shops, and convenience stores nearby. 9.5/10.

Check-in: Friendly receptionists and very willing to assist. Did not have to wait too long to check in. However, we had a little hiccup during check in because they were not familiar with overseas credit cards that require PIN for transactions above certain amount. I was just told that my cards were declined and I had to call my bank to check. After guiding them to insert the card into the credit card machine instead of tapping the card, the payment went through without issue but I ended up having to incur additional roaming charges and inconvenience to check with my bank for something that could have been avoided if they were familiar with using the credit card machine. Generally, they are hospitable and always greeting us with warm smiles. On my second night, I had issue with the key and one of them (I believe her name is Eddie), she was rly helpful and took the initiative to follow me to make sure my room key works. Another colleague of hers has also been helping me to heat up my take away food. They also helped us to switch our room when we requested for toilet with bidet. 9/10

Room: Minimal but very functional. I really like that there were plenty of international ports. Good soundproof (double window), very comfortable bed and pillow. Decent amenities. Water pressure is excellent and I really appreciate the smart toilet (pls consider upgrading to ensure all rooms come with it). Housekeeping did a good job. 8.5/10

Facility: Bummer that there is no gym or pool. But the washer and dryer facility makes up for it. Very convenient for longer stay. 7/10

Overall, I had a very good stay here with my partner. I’d recommend this hotel to others and will consider coming back for my next trip.

A nice hotel right inside Ximending with all amenities provided especially laundry. They also provided currency exchange.

I prefer brighter rooms, other than that, everything is great! I especially love the FREE laundry on the 6th floor and such a SHORT walking distance to everywhere in ximending.

Very strategic location with everything I needed around the area! Step out from the hotel and you are already at the shopping area of Taipei! Extra mile service provided by their front counter staff Andrew!! He shared with us all the nice restaurants that we should try. Also, we have missed out the famous sandwiches that we ordered planning to bring back to SG and delivered late to the hotel after we left and heading to the airport. Andrew take the effort to contact us via whatsapp and put in effort arranging delivery to make sure the sandwiches are handed to me in airport despite of me telling him to just distribute among themselves. I didn’t expect this kind of service level as it was the food merchant’s fault in delaying of delivery but Andrew still take another step to deliver it to us. Will be back again for my next trip for sure and I hope to see Andrew around again!
