Very beautiful Japanese style of building. Many people come here to take a photo. In front of it have market on weekends. Some particular time have guide to tell you the story of here. Easy to park at here. Good place to relax and chill.

A very cool place to visit in Taoyuan, the japanese atmosphere the place has is really unique, and the temple itself is an experience as well. During my visit on the weekend, they have a small bazaar that sells a lot of interesting items, and a good onigiri place too. They also sell a tofu pudding that’s really refreshing during the hot summer days.

An interesting place that resembles Japanese jinjas. It's beautiful with traditional Japanese architectures. But it's a pity that it's not large enough to explore.

It's like visiting a shrine in Japan, only it's in Taoyuan. Easy access with parking spaces and well kept buildings. Be sure to try the Douhua (soft bean curd).

Not enough parking spaces so come early if you need one. Pretty chill weekend market with Japanese architecture/shrine

Definitely need to join free tour so that you’ll give more insights on the monument.

I stayed in a near by hostel” your HOMES”and It was only 15 minutes away from the hostel by bike. The hosts gave me a detailed history background of the shrine and that really makes everything so understandable now . It was the only Japanese shrine left among the other 200 plus shrine. A great day tour destination in Taoyüan. The Confucius temple and Hutou mountain altogether will make a prefect day tour trip.

Super nice place. And I never know that all the Japanese style 🛕 been removed but only this one left in Taiwan. Amazing!

The only Japanese shrine perfectly kept in Taiwan! All the others was destroyed by KMT from the past!! This place was changed to be a KMT soldier memorial, so it could be kept in a good shape... The buildings are all Japanese traditional shrine style!!!

Such a well maintained Japanese shrine so close to Taipei. No large crowd this weekend I was there. I didn't see any actual signs so you have to look for an open gated slope on the same side as the shrine which will lead to a small parking lot.

The first time I went was during the height of COVID-19, so there was literally no one there except a very friendly, Chinese (not English)-speaking staff worker. I only knew the place existed thanks to Steven Crook’s excellent Bradt travel guide. When I was there a couple of days ago, it was pretty overrun by tourists, but very beautiful nonetheless. I believe it’s the only intact Shinto shrine in all of Taiwan. Well worth a visit, but catch it on a weekday if you can.
