I had fun! The old street is not too long but it’s filled with different stores. Luckily we went weekday so it wasn’t crowded either. We did dyeing at the dyeing center. The smell of the dye was horrible (for me😂 because others say it’s ok) but they were extremely helpful before, during, and after the process. They speak Chinese though, with just a LITTLE English. Nonetheless, it was amazing.

Support local Taiwanese vendor here, they’re nice and friendly. I loved the fact that we (my fam and I) were the only foreigners (I think) when we visited yesterday. Great vibe. Perfect for photo ops. And there were lots of doggos too love it!

I really liked coming here late in the evening. Not many things open but it wasn't crowded and it was very peaceful to walk around the old street and the temple.

This place reminds me of the traditional culture that Taiwan has and they sell many kind of things from tea to snacks, you can find delicious food to satisfy yourself here! I loved the architecture and the pavement that decorate this old street. What makes this place different from other has to be the tidiness and red brick buildings that are their specialty.

Lots of leather shoe stores, old school kid toys and snacks stores. We found the cooked thin dough-skin wrapped old school ice cream with peanut shaving and cilantro (潤餅包冰淇淋). We tried the taiwanese croissant (牛角), which was pretty tasty. We went there on a weekday so the street wasn't busy at all.

One of the many old streets that we can find in Taiwan. Loads of cool stuffs. The bread shops are the one of the main attractions here. Was here in the evening and the night market was open too. Huge market and crowded. There is a small stream that crosses through, nice spot for chilling with friends.
A good place for a weekend ride or drive.

Regarding to the locals this street is a classic. From the outside you see old buildings and when you enter you get a combination of old meets new. Very nice location to spend a afternoon or day shopping.

Just like any other old Street in taiwan, various flavors through out taiwan can be seen here, and includes the old temple that carefully carve every design of it. Highly recommended to go here the only downside is the parking lot because it's a little bit far but worth it.

A small beautiful old street. Not too many tourists as we came here early in the morning as the shops just start to open their doors. At the end of the street there is a temple. A must see is the shop Tai Hwa Pottery. A famous ceramic business with beautiful vases.

One of the most beautiful temples in the country. Various vendors selling food, clothes, and toys on the Old Street. A good half-day trip from Taipei accessible by MRT & bus or TRA & bus.

Nice place! you can take 3 hour there at most. From Taipei ride to Yong Ning MRT station then ask for buses going towards San Xia. Best to ride bus# 916. It's nearer to the old street. But this bus doesn't accommodate wheel chairs.... If you wish to ride with wheelchairs ride bus# 706. Bus #706 also goes Ximen to Sanxia... Many delicacies include croissants, Cow (Ox) milk ice cream (it is verryyyyy goooooodd).... You can eat lunch at small eateries... Don't expect to find aircon restaurants... It's is very hot here so bring a fan...

Sanxia is a traditional, suburban district in New Taipei City. It is mainly known for its tourism street, known as Sanxia Old Street (三峽老街). The architecture consists of red brick buildings with hallways connected by small lanes. Dating back to the early 1900s during the Japanese occupation, the unique traditional architecture is quite different from the rest of the island, which went through a massive development push in the 1970s at the expense of many traditional buildings. Bi Luo Chun (碧螺春)is one of the tea you don’t miss in this area.
