The New Taipei City Yingge Ceramics Museum is a true gem! It's a captivating journey through the world of ceramics. The museum's architecture is a work of art itself, and the exhibits are beautifully curated, showcasing both traditional and contemporary ceramics. The hands-on activities allow visitors to connect with the art form. The museum's serene setting in Yingge, known as the "Ceramics Town," adds to the experience. Whether you're an art enthusiast or simply curious, this museum offers a fascinating and enriching visit that highlights the beauty of ceramics in Taiwanese culture.

This museum as in many other museums I find in Taipei are generously endowed with space, leaving plenty of room for the exhibits. The lower floors hold mainly exhibits about the history of indigenous and Chinese ceramics. The fourth floor shows the special exhibits. All this for the price of TWD$80.

An amazing place to showcase Taiwan ceramic artists and to educate the public as well as the students in studio art. The samples of different firing methods and various surface decoration techniques are very impressive.

Absolutely an amazing place -well rounded exhibits of both art and history. Great curation, interesting topics and detailed tours! The English translations of the exhibit explanations were also very well done.

Back again and loved it last time it was apparently they closed without announcing it. Google said they would be open and there were no signs indicating they weren't open until you got to the door. If it's open, it's a great place to visit.

Professionally and nicely designed architecture with keep on improving display layout is a pleasant place to visit . The atrium’s ramp is the main focus of the building also the route to each floor. Its exhibition of various means and techniques of making pottery and glazing on the ground floor is wonderful. The big disappointments are the deteriorating big backyard park and no water’s water front view at entryway. Those features impact the attraction vastly.

Loved it , there's alot of interesting things on display. The gift store is nice at the Museum and nearby you can take a pottery class. Definately a nice activity. Takes about 2 hours.

Beautiful architecture, wonderful exhibition, and a splendid park.
There are a lot of hands on activities for both kids and grownups. Some you can register online in advance, but it's not required. Check out their website.
The ticket price might seem a bit high, but it's worth it. Highly recommend.

My first time being here and it has become one of my favorite museums in Taiwan. The museum building itself is already an art. The permanent exhibition is interesting and educational. As for the special exhibition, the day I went was Taiwan ceramics award 2019, one of the best art exhibitions I had in months.

Notice, the ticketing booth isn’t in the museum building but is outside near the bus stop. Pass is free for New Taipei citizens, students, and some other cases. Or the ticket price is NT$80, still a very fair price.

This pottery museum is all about experience. A good learning curve if you are interested in it. I helped to fix a ceramic dot near a rest room. I shall return.
Ticket is $80, applied to non New Taipei resident. Gratis for elderly 65+, as well as to handicapped and an accompanist.

It’s one of my favorite museums in Taiwan. It has a regular exhibition with a detailed history of ceramic. It also has many special exhibitions that demonstrates different types of pottery. The building itself is very well designed and worth exploring by itself. There is a park in the back with kids playgrounds. You get free admission if you live in New Taipei City. I highly recommend this place as it’s an important part of Yingge!

Very rich and interesting displays esp those on the 1st and 2nd floor, and even more so than the one I've been to in Kyoto. Highly recommended for those who are into ceramics.

Spacious and nice to walk about, with plenty of eye-catching displays. Love how the museum explains every step of the ceramics-making process as you walk along the sections. Intricate details such as the type of oven, the chemical spray used, and the types of fire were mentioned, along with relevant illustration, to show how desired results were achieved. Also loved the fact that they talked about the use of ceramics in future technology, such as solar panels.

Just a short 15min walk from the train station to get there, and the entrance fee is only 100 NT.

The biggest ceramic museum in Taiwan, operated by New Taipei City government, gives detailed history of Yingge the ceramic town in Taiwan and also different exhibitions of ceramic/pottery topics. In here you can find the traditional designs of bricks and roof tiles, as well as antique tea pots and table wares. There is of course the gift shop with art pieces of local artists, but there are definitely more options when you hit the road to the Yingge old street with hundreds of ceramic shops which makes you lost in the heaven of ceramic/pottery works!

One of the best museums I've ever visited. Two is the floors are temporary exhibits, 2 floors are permanent exhibits. I loved the temporary exhibits happening, they were beautiful and delicate and not at all esoteric (which is often the case for contemporary art). The permanent exhibition tells u all about the history and science of ceramics in Taiwan. Fascinating, especially the complex chemistry of this fine art. I would highly recommend this museum. We bought tickets at the counter, very easy and no line, tho it was a sunday.

The building is absolutely beautiful, and you can learn things about ceramics, which i find it very Informative.

It's a big place and got different sections; the water park does not open unless it's summer, the garden around is nice to walk in a sunny afternoon; there's also DIY sections, just to name a few.
The ticket is only 80NTD, and free in certain situations, I think it's pretty worth it.
If you visit yingge and are not in a hurry, please definitely stop by.
