A really nice historical place to explore Taiwan’s pottery history and culture! The entire street loaded with local pottery shops. You can even do your own pottery with only around 400 Taiwan dollar and they can ship your work overseas as an add on. Prices are very reasonable for handmade pottery but it might be a bit difficult for foreigners who can’t read Chinese to communicate with the staff and navigate. The street also has a lot of traditional Taiwanese street food which can’t be easily found in night markets in Taipei city. It is a really nice getaway from Taipei city center as an evening trip for tourists. To get there, you only have to take the Taiwan Railway for about an hour from Taipei station which it is quite accessible.

I love this street because I go and load up on the cutest bowls, plates, and kitchen goods each time. Some of the stores are similar but you get a couple that have some really wonderful items. I’m a huge fan. Parking can be rough on weekends, but that’s with most spots in Taiwan. Go and leisurely stroll down the streets. Enjoy!

Your visit to Yingge is simply incomplete without arriving at the historic ceramics street just 10 minutes walk from the train station. This, for me, is the heart of Yingge. Enjoy the historic paved streets, along which lie several shops selling beautiful pottery from local made goods to imported ware from neighbouring countries. There are options for everybody ranging from ceramic bowls to finely decorated porcelain plates, full traditional tea sets to western style teapots and cups, even ceramic cutlery was on display. If you feel too hot during the heat of the day, there is an air-conditioned indoor centre where more shops lie, selling their own pottery as well as paintings. Feeling thirsty or hungry? Enjoy some grass jelly tea and grab yourself some bao zi for lunch.

Overall, Yingge is the perfect place to go for those seeking ideal souvenirs to take home to their loved ones. It’s also great if you want to see outside of the main city of Taipei without going to rural Taiwan.

We parked at the Yingge Elementary school (during weekends, you need to pay 100ntd once you get in, no time limit) and walked down to the Yingge Old street. You can simply find some street food and lots of porcelain stores. If you are with kids, let your kids be careful with some breakable items.

Yingge Old Street area is the earliest gathering place for the pottery industry. The history of ceramic craftsmanship has more than 200 years. Due to the era of many kilns in the early days, it has become a famous ceramic town in the country, and it is also known as "Taiwan Jingdezhen". With more than 200 ceramic shops, Yingge Ceramics Street is flanked by ceramic tableware specialty stores, potter studios, old Yingge ceramic shops, potter exhibition and sales centers, pottery DIY classrooms, and factory-operated stores...etc. The "pottery" theme store. At the entrance of the old street, there is a southern Fujian-style red brick building imitating a century-old ancient house on Wenhua Road, and the entrance image created by the installation art of iron warbler song and bird. The shops along the way are all built with red brick columns plus ceramics as a unified architectural feature. The chairs and other facilities symbolize Yingge's ceramic industry. While the Yingge Elementary School at the end, it’s wall is a large piece of brightly colored ceramic collage, which further highlights that Yingge is a veritable pottery hometown.

I went here with my wife. Fantastic experience to be honest. We went to a DIY ceramic shop where we both made our own custom pottery and it was a wonderful experience to share together. The people in the shop were lovely and the final product turned out great. Definitely recommend if you’re looking to spend time with your partner and create a memorable experience together with something to take home

Great place to stroll, buy some real good ceramic (tea sets, Knick knacks) and enjoy some street food. Place gets packed on weekends, so visit early on weekends or on weekdays. Checkout different stores if you are looking for tea sets. Each store has something different and unique. Loved the experience and highly recommend

Cute street filled with traditional ceramics and porcelain shops with all levels of quality and pricing to suit your needs. Manufacture if you want to create your own mug (long waiting times though).

Full of authentic stores. Prices are bit higher but is possible to find some nice yet cheap ones. Make sure to check all of them before starting shoping otherwise you may regret!

It's not a long street like you can spend a whole afternoon, but it's actually quite interesting and worth stopping by.
For one, they have tons of ceramics pieces for you to dig in, and secondary, you can make yourself your own unique one, varys from ceramic pots or cups to Mosaic art.
And if you're hungry, just grab a bite whenever you are, there are also tons of food choices, and not gonna lie, I think they're all pretty good.

Beautiful ceremony town. You can find lots of variety in ceramic artist. But do dip deeper to avoid buying mass production stuff.

It takes around 25mins to travel there by train. A veey suburb area that very little visitors go there in the weekdays. You can see a lot of beautiful porcelain products and art crafts there. Do need carefully visit them all and u may have bargain deals there. The surrounding area are very tranquil. Worth spending a half day to visit there.

This place is a must go! Wonderful little town filled to the brim with beautiful pottery and other crafts! It's also a great place to taste and buy high quality tea. The price and quality for everything have a huge range, so there is something for everyone. Also, don't hesitate to question the sellers about their products. If you are going to spend some money on a teapot, do some research on how to confirm the quality yourself before you go.
