Whiteman Toothpaste Tourism Factory

The best place to stay for a while on any hot sunny days.

It is cool inside, even on a hot day. We had a choice of water, tea, coffee or soda upon arrival. The translation is a bit off sometimes but with translation on your phone you can still appreciate the message and the culture as you tour the museum. The free popsicle was a welcome snack before going up to view the toothpaste factory. No workers on Sundays so it is better to go on a weekday to see the actual process in action. The products are reasonably priced and there were on toothpaste, tooth brushes and soap which we bought. It is a nice place to spend a couple of hours.

From a facility management point of view not very good - ugly and not tidy. From an interest point of view highly amusing and bizarre. You get to see the factory production AND a 130 year-old residence shipped from China and restored to its original form. Very impressive. Free entry and drinks, too.

Great experience. Would have never seen the historic museum had we not gone to the Toothpaste Factory. Both were enjoyable.

Free popsicle and toothpaste when you visit this toothpaste factory in Chiayi. One hour away from Taichung and quite popular with tour buses, the factory owner shares the love of history by offering free entrance to everyone.

Enjoy a piece of history through seeing firsthand Ching Dynasty artifacts moved brick by brick back from China to Taiwan. The Ching Dynasty General's residence is available for public viewing for free with complimentary drinks such as coffee and ginger tea.

If you are interested in more historical artifacts, the Ching Dynasty Prime minister Dai's residence is also available for viewing with a fully deductible ticket NT100 (good for all product lines such as toothpaste and soap). You also get free ice cream & toothbrush with ticket purchase.

The toothpaste production line viewing is only available on weekdays, but you are not missing much with the freebies.

Very unique indeed. I'm unsure whether this is a toothpaste factory, a warehouse, a toothpaste store, a museum for ancient Chinese mythology, a place for children or a collection of... Interesting stuff.
Most curious is that there are (regular?) kindergarten visits. Those kids then have the privilege to see wonderful statues of tortured people in hell! :)
I'm giving this five stars because it was very entertaining (even though I had no idea what was going on most of the time).

Very local Taiwanese taste. Designed to welcome crowd of tourist. Generous to give you free ice stick, coffee, tea, coke, tooth paste...and many artifacts to look too.
