It's a rich historical street with preservations of culture, craft and food. The architecture has been maintained well considering a railroad was built here in 1886.

We went there at about 7 pm and most of the shops were closed. But there was a small glutinous rice ball eatery and it was delicious!

The Hukuo Old Street is a historic village. Small but compact. Old but active. Preserve well. It is a good place to visit with a short stay of about two to three hours.

I visited the place quite early so the shops were not open yet so I can’t comment on the food or products sold. The place is well maintained.

Excellent local tourist spot that most foreign tourists won't come to visit because it's remote from the city. This street is filled with history and it really gives you a glimpse into the past. Lots of street food vendors selling very local Taiwanese Hakka snacks and other finger food. It is a short street, so you'll probably only spend at most one hour here unless you dine at one of the local restaurants on the street.
